Fantastic old-style villa with superb views and good amendments. Family run and very straightforward and personal attitude. The swimming pool is amazing and the only way you can survive Italian summer.

Internet on the top floor could be better.

I highly recommend staying here. The views are unmatched and Mauricio was the best host we’ve ever had at a bed @ breakfast.

I believe that this area is a hidden gem for those who wish to stay cool and relaxed visiting Rome

What a wonderful stay! We are just home to UK after having our last three nights at Tenuta Cusmano. We can’t recommend it highly enough - here’s a few reasons why: • The location is amazing with stunning views across Rome and even as far as the sea. It was about 45 minutes taxi from Trestevere and 15 minutes from Ciampino Airport. • it perfectly suited us as a family - we have three late teens children. • The pool was immaculate with plenty beds and shade. The kids loved the diving board. • The property is beautifully maintained, the gardens being a particular delight. Brilliant place to relax. • we were lucky to stay in the suite with an amazing terrace. How I will miss those views! The kids shared a smaller bedroom but the sofa bed in it was very comfortable (says my 18 year old who is not averse to moaning;-)) • the breakfast was delicious - best omelettes and crepes ever. • but most of all, Maurizio (the owner) was utterly charming - so welcoming, so keen to please. He helped book taxis and restaurants and just made us feel special. One tip - Maurizio recommends car hire and that is probably right if you want to explore area. There is plenty to see round there. However, there are lovely restaurants within walking distance (the one next door is brilliant, the others are maybe 20 mins walk away). We used taxis to get to Castel Gandalfo and the lake which weren’t cheap but certainly easier than car hire. Maurizio sorted an airport transfer for us which reliably picked us up at 4am.

Maurizio was an amazing host! The setting is beautiful and our room was excellent, spotlessly clean, and came with a huge terrace. Thank you Maurizio for your restaurant recommendations - they were fantastic. We had the best time at Tenuta Cusmano and will hopefully return soon.

We had a great stay. Amazing breakfast, rooms, location, wonderful premises. Could not have been better. We had a room with terrace with the most amazing views over the countryside. Lovely garden, tennis fields and swimming pool. Wonderful recommendations on where to go and explore and have dinner. Owner and staff go out of their way to make stay memorable. Highly recommend.

The place and the people

We enjoyed our stay at Tenuta Cusmano very much. Maurizio is the perfect host of this wonderful estate situated on a plateau with a magnificent view on Rome. We saw beautiful sunsets. If you want to find tranquility and space (the luxury of our time) in a beautiful surrounding you’ll find it here. Maurizio will give you all the tips you need to enjoy your stay. Our host Maurizio was gracious, very kind & helpful with all our needs and requests. Breakfasts were sumptuous and delicious. The location of Tenuta Cusmani is spectacularly panoramic. We would happily stay again when visiting Castelli Romani and would recommend Tenuta Cusmani strongly to other future visitors to this region.

Excellent location with some truly wonderful restaurants in a walking distance, one of them being just 5-7 minutes away. Panoramic view from the property grounds and terraces is just stunning. Actually perfect for events. The property itself is very elegant, with some amazing woodwork, lovely rooms, that make you feel like you are staying in a castle. Our superior double room had such a huge terrace, it looked bigger than the room itself. Breakfast was also a nice surprise, excellent omelettes and coffee. Maurizio is incredibly friendly and helpful, you can also see by the amount of postcards and letters he receives from guests, that others appreciate him and his beautiful house as much. We wish him and his family all the very best and hoping to visit Tenuta Cusmano some time again, when the weather is a bit better ;)

There are some minor flaws, but when you are staying in a place like this, it's not worth it looking for imperfections or judging outdated bathroom faucets. Having a glass of local wine with that incredible view and a conversation about this beautiful region with such a rich history beats it all. Having a car is highly recommended though.
