they try to charge you additional 300 mill or $65 dollars because my fiancé ( I booked for two adults already) is from Colombia - very low life and deceptive - I never had to pay extra before traveling w my fiancé in Colombia - the staff was slow did not bring out manage until an hour after discussion ensued - staff is poorly trained

the food was better than expected and the staff in the Buho restaurant was nice as well as the woman serving in the coco bar (the only friendly people we met at this place).

definitely not a five star resort. The service at this place was just non excisting and the structures wasnt there to provide a good experience. Everything was just messy and the staff was rude. I booked this place for a birthday weekend for me and my partner but we would have been better off staying at home. - They are impossible to get in contact with before your arrival so I couldnt set up any arrangements or book any of the spa treatments that I had planned, which all had to be reserved 2 days in advance. (Since we only stayed 2 nights this wasnt possible) I tried writing them weeks in advance on 4 different emails, in a private message here on booking and through frequently asked questions with no reply. - When we arrived they directed us to the wrong reception (even though we got stopped and i showed them my reservation by the gates, they made a phone call to confirm and then told us where to go) we then had to wait for one hour on their transportation to take us to the other reception. - I asked them for help to reserve a restaurant by they just told me to do it myself. I then called and made a reservation and when we arrived they told us they had never recieved it, I had just called 45 minutes earlier and they had confirmed...This was also on the other side of the resort so we had to wait for a bus to take us there only for them to turn us back and then had to wait for the bus back. - on our second day they called us over to give them our card details since we had ordered some whiskey that wasnt included. For over 40 minutes we had to stand there and wait for them to fill in all the paperwork and they refused to just let me pay it right away. - dont expect any service that you normally recieve at a five star resort, like help with your luggage etc. Over all we probably wasted around 3-4 hours hanging around in the reception because they couldnt do their job properly. 3-4 hours is quite a lot when you only stay for 2 nights...

The hotel complex is huge, it has a bungalow area plus 5 towers each with a pool with view to the sea, the restaurants are good but we didnt try them all. There is a shopping centre within walking distance where other food choices are available. There is about 1km of beach front total for the hotel but we tended to stay near our tower, the appartment we stayed in had two bedrooms each with private bathroom, a balconly with an excelent sea view, kitchen dinning area and sitting room and an extra toilete.

It is a little expensive but worth it, we were told pets were not allowed so we didnt bring our dog, however some other guests had their pets with them.

The size of the apartment has been more than our expectations; basically a suite. If one day you want to spend all your time in the hotel, the kitchen facilities allow you to prepare complete meals; plates, glasses and pots are clean and ready for use. The bedroom had a direct view of the beach. We rested very well thanks to the comfortable beds and the super quiet environment. The beach is very nice with an area for walking. We loved the super chic swimming pool with kitchen service for small meals and cocktails.

We were unaware that the complex consists of several hotels; we were at the “Reservado” this is the name of one of the towers. Unfortunately, they are a bit far from each other, and to go to one of the different restaurants or use the various services, you need to travel by hotel bus. Sometimes it was convenient to stay in the hotel due to the long distance from the center of Santa Marta. We dined twice at the Caravel restaurant; the meat was good but the fish was not as fresh as I expected in a seaside place. I had to order off the menu for too many sweet sauces on meals and obsessive use of balsamic vinegar everywhere. Breakfast needs to improve; too many fried food and no cream for coffee. No healthy options.

Iratoma was a pleasant surprise. We were considering Cancun and glad we chose Santa Marta. It felt like a Mexican resort with all the restaurants and pools. The main pool was huge and had a water slide for the kids. The food was good quality and a decent variety. Within walking distance was Carulla supermarket and a few other restaurants outside the complex. You really don't need to go anywhere other than Santa Marta to checkout parque novios and the port. Playa blanca is totally not like the pictures and super crowded, not worth visiting at all. Be careful NOT to use the tours offered by the people walking the beach..They are middle men and you will be charged super high rates. Use the hotel tours as they are trustworthy and reasonable. Oh, we stayed in a Junior suite at the Del Mar tower.. It was spacious with a big balcony and a sea view. Overall we were very pleased and will reutrn for sure!

Everything was great.

Went for a little vacation. The room had spectacular view of the beach and was very private. Loved the hammock in the terrace. The food in all the restaurants were excellent and the prices were very reasonable compared to US resort standards. Service was excellent in each of the hotels within the resorts. We will definitely be coming back.

The roads leading to the resort are terrible. Also, for being Holy week and there were many families, I thought the pools closed too early at 7:00PM. Also the bar seemed to close too early at 11:00.

My room was stunning and everything I could have wanted, with sitting area and balcony. The resort is beautiful and extensive. The pool is huge and lovely. I personally found all the food very good. Staff very friendly and welcoming.

I visited while COVID measures were still in place which changed the accessibility of some areas. I wished for more bar and restaurant areas. It was extremely hard to get a chair/umbrella on the beach. Plastic chaises were piled up and no one working the resort offered to help me get one. Similarly, in all my hours poolside I was never asked once by service if I wanted a drink. I went to the bar and got it myself. I don't speak Spanish so found communicating with staff difficult. Humorously, when I needed to get a COVID test for my return to the States, I was told to go to the nursery. I walked the resort trying to find something like day care, babysitting or a children's club. Turned out she meant the "nurse's station" i.e. first aid.

The apartment was very clean and comfortable. It has all what we need to spend days in family time.

Common areas in the rest of the resort were worm out. Specially the restaurants. The food and drinks quality are disappointing.
