We very much enjoyed our stay at the "Birds Nest". We were serenaded by birds, frogs, and crickets overnight and the occasional rooster in the morning. The home is furnished nicely and is well set up for a small family or 2 couples traveling together. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need and they have many staples available for you to use. The grounds are very pretty and the outdoor space is very usable. We would definitely stay here again.

Location was very convenient, communication was great, and we really enjoyed everything the home offered from the well stocked kitchenware for cooking, the relaxing deck, comfortable beds and nice shower/bathroom. Would highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay!

This property is truly outstanding in the region. Great value. Large living and dining area with a spacious covered backyard-facing (privacy) balcony. Fully equipped kitchen, complete with all the essential utensils, appliances, gadgets, dishwasher, garburator, and gas barbeque. The separate laundry room and second toilet and shower downstairs makes this ideal for families and longer stays. Both bedrooms were rather comfortable, and the overhead ventilators throughout the house made things nice and breezy. The property was very clean and in excellent order. Our hosts were responsive. The big bonus of this VBRO was the availability and generous stocking of the pantry and cleaning supplies. This alone helped us to avoid wasting hundreds of dollars on what would have been only partially-used containers of condiments, spices, and certain food staples. I liked the pay-it-forward attitude of the venue.

This place was very clean. However, the owner are constantly on your back by texting you to turn off light, close the doors and many more messages that disturbed your short vacay. And when I left one day earlier she texted why I never Informed her a head of time. I paid for the place already so she should not try to rushed cleaning it for the next customer. She should wait for the day Im scheduled to move out.

We enjoyed our stay at The Bird’s Nest. The property is spacious, clean and well equipped. It was a perfect place to hangout. Check in was easy and the hosts provided a plate of fresh fruit which was much appreciated as our flights to the Island arrived late in the evening. There’s so much to explore on the Big Island and it was great to relax here at the end of the day. Highly recommended this property.

This beautiful vacation home was perfect for our family. Our two young children enjoyed searching for lizards and exploring the private yard. We enjoyed peaceful mornings and evenings on the patio. The house is equipped with all you need for your stay and is comfortable and inviting. Access to East side of the island was great. Communication with the hosts was great. We highly recommend the Bird’s Nest and will stay here again in our next visit to the Big Island.

We had 5 of us; a senior married couple, our granddaughter and her husband and their 1 year old son. The house is beautifully decorated and remarkably well equipped with all the conveniences of modern life. We got great use of the rice cooker and yoga mat for instance. We appreciated the washer and dryer, and the wide porch wrapping around two sides of the house. Khym andJosh stayed in touch through the vrbo portal. They left us a large bowl of fresh tropical fruits when we arrived, which was a great treat for everyone, including the baby. We found their home to be a delightful place to stay when visiting sights in the Hilo Volcano area.

This house was perfect for our needs and had everything we as a family of two adults and two small kids could ask for. The house was very clean and even had beach equipment and a washer and dryer. In addition to the great amenities, the house was close enough to all the things we wanted to see (volcanos, waterfalls, etc). Such a great experience. Thank you!!

I am a local resident who needed a place to stay while my home was being fumigated. Our stay was very comfortable and affordable. Location was just around the corner, therefore, this home would be perfect for out of town family. Everything about this quaint little 2 bedroom home had all the amenities needed for a vacation. My favorite was the deck and stairway access on either side of the house. Outdoor lighting was especially helpful for my late night arrival. Thank you for accommodating our situation. Mahalo

My family had a nice stay at this property. It was a convenient location for exploring Hilo and Volcanos National Park. Communication with the owner was great. The house has all the things we needed to make our stay comfortable including a stocked kitchen and beach equipment. There were two bedrooms one with a King and one with a queen. Also, an air mattress was available for the TV room. The two bathrooms were convenient for our group one upstairs inside the house and the other outside and downstairs. The house had a ceiling fan in each room and with the windows open it was comfortable for most of our group. The ground were pretty with all of the plants, flowers and birds. The frogs chirped all night, some of us enjoyed that more than others. Overall we had a really nice stay.

This place is absolutely wonderful. Very clean, nicely decorated, and stocked with everything you might need (including umbrellas and coolers!). Our favorite part was the beautiful porch overlooking the back yard. It’s a great spot to relax and quietly enjoy the lush greenery. Would recommend this place and come back any time.

Hi Khym. It was a perfect size house for our family. You thought of everything to make our stay soo comfortable. I’ve worked in the hotel industry for many years but never rented vrbo before. This is a better way to go. We are talking about coming next year. Anyway thank you again for everything. We have already left the house and cleaned the best we could. All the best

Living in the jungle,so nice between the trees and tropical plants. Close to Hilo and Volcano!

The Bird's Nest is a beautiful home a little distance from Hilo but quite convenient for going up to Volcano National Park. Both places were highlights of our trip. The abundant lizards, frogs and birds on the property delighted my son and husband.

Comfortable stay. Stayed cool inside for the most part, even though no A/C. Sleeping arrangement for 5 people was very comfortable. Felt secluded with the beautiful garden. Much different experience than staying in a hotel, able to hear the frogs all night and the doves in the day time.

+ Perfect suburban location several miles south of Hilo for exploring the Southern and Eastern parts of the Big Island. + Furnished with most everything you may need, even has a beach umbrella. + High speed internet. + Smart-TV entertainment includes free Netflix, and can connect other services (we used Amazon Prim) using your own accounts just remember to logout. - Gas range and gas clothing dryer may need re-jetting for propane usage from natural gas, or the regulator pressure is high, meaning cooking is high to extra-high temperature.

The house was very nice and clean with spacious living area. All things we need for the stay were there so it was very convenient for us!

The Bird’s Nest was as advertised. Clean and comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked, the yard and decks great for hanging out. Great location for exploring Volcanos NP, Puna, and Hilo. I wish I had more time and hope to return!

The birds nest was the best rental we have ever stayed in! The attention to detail and hospitality was everything I could have hoped for. Our girls (3 & 6) absolutely loved running around in the yard and playing on the deck. This place felt so safe and lovely that we really didn't want to leave! We will absolutely be back one day!

My sister and I were visiting our brother who lives close to Hawaiian Paradise Park and the location and accommodations could not have been better. The Bird's Nest is lovely, comfortable and well equipped with everything we needed for our 5 night stay. We did a fair amount of cooking and were very pleased to discover how well equipped the kitchen was. The location was great - close to Hilo and Pahoa and only 30 minutes from Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Khym is a wonderful host - very responsive and thoughtful. When we arrived at the Bird's Nest there were macadamia nuts and flowers from her garden for us to enjoy. I highly recommend the Bird's Nest to anyone traveling to the "Hilo side" of the Big Island.

My mother and niece stayed at this property so my mom could visit my dad who has Alzheimer's and is currently being cared for by my brother. My mom said that she loved the location and the property was well cared for. She thanked me profusely for paying for her stay here. During the visit her great grandson came to visit and broke the bed. It was noticed until the property owner called me. But my brother paid for the damages. For this I apologize that my grand nephew broke the bed. We pride ourselves on leaving property as we found it. The owners were very nice about it, for which I was very thankful. I highly recommend this place!

A nice and mellow place for my family. If you love nature, this is the place! Close or short drive to everywhere. Thanks for a great place to stay in Hilo area.

We stayed four nights at the Bird's Nest. The property is very clean and has everything that you need. The linens and towels were as fresh as you can get! There were even a few little extras like shampoo and coffee. There was a book with everything you need to enjoy some sight seeing and beaches without having to do the research yourself. The owners left us some fruit and they are very responsive to any needs. I highly recommend this property.
