Beautiful and romantic hotel in a fantastic area with a lot of history. Restaurant is great, well serviced and with delicious homemade and well priced food. Provided breakfast was scrumptious and included a lot of local produce.
Balcony was same level as road 40M away with nothing blocking or interrupting line of sight, so pedestrians could see you easily.
Hotel Staff could have been more responsive to requests and room decor and utilities could be considered a little basic but considering location the is what you would expect.

bathroom dated with grouting requiring a makeover . no bath towels or slippers which in a suite should be standard. a Wooden stirrer and no teaspoons and a mere 2 teabags in the room tea/ coffee compendium again was on the sparse side !

We were upgraded to the Lord Byron suite which had a spacious, charming sitting room with a balcony and great views. The location at one end of the main street in the old, upper village was a perfect place from which to walk to the Quinta da Regaleira and for the wooded trail hike up past the Castelo da Mours and on to Pena Palace. The breakfast buffet offerings the day of our stay were limited however we had options off an a la carte menu which were very well prepared and nicely served.

Friendly staff , all very helpful.
Diner is a must! High quality and the Gents who did the service in the restaurant are truly stars in service and etiquette. High standard, formal and friendly.
Leg of lamb super tender, and the desserts .... O.m.g.. never had a cake 🍰 and pie like that..
And breakfast.. do it! Youll feel like a time traveler with damast napkins, fruits, cakes, scrambled eggs , pie, toast.. and so on and on..

This hotel was truly wonderful. It has an air of sophistication layered in antique beautiful touches like wooden dressers, night stands. It meets a great balance between luxury and rustic beauty. The staff were incredibly kind and genuinely nice people who enjoy their jobs.

Things are old. and I understand it’s an old hotel and that is the style but I mean as in some things are old and and noisy and broken. Also I paid more for a room with a bath tub and it wasn’t working. they should have made me a discount…

A lovely old, historic hotel very close to the centre of Sintra. We were fortunate to be upgraded to the Jane Lawrence room with a balcony and a lovely view. The four poster bed was very comfortable, we appreciated the complimentary water and fridge. Everywhere was clean. All of the staff were lovely, so friendly and helpful. I had a very enjoyable back massage from Martha.

Beautiful and unique hotel in a fabulous location. Minutes walk from the center of Sintra yet very quiet and relaxing. Love the balcony overlooking amazing garden with spectacular trees. Very nice and helpful staff, really good breakfast. Can't wait to go back!!!

We had an excellent stay at the Lawrence Hotel. Everyone at reception was extremely accommodating and helpful. They even sent chocolate-covered strawberries and champagne to make our anniversary special! Our double superior room was small, but it had a large, secluded balcony that we enjoyed. We hope to return one day!
