It was all good

we stayed two nights and they didn't service our room... no coffee, etc.

Spacious room, clean, friendly staff and good beds. Nice garden with restaurant/bar which is open to the public as well. Nice atmosphere. It's surprisingly green for being in a city.
We found it pretty expensive but then all hotels seem fairly expensive in Dublin.

A wonderful building with history
A perfect location to access the sights
Tricky to get into the parking lot - crossing traffic and narrow entry

Staff were very rude, which was a pity as the rooms were really nice. Would not go back for that reason.

The location in a leafy area , and set back from the road with a grassy courtyard - away from busy inner city streets - but still walkable ( about 15 mins from memory ) . The character of the building was also pleasant, plus the room itself.
The patio wasn't actually accessible from the room , it was downstairs in the rear courtyard.
9.0
Friendly staff, clean comfortable rooms and good food available at hotel.
No baggage room available to leave luggage prior to check in. While we appreciate that this is a boutique hotel, that would be a plus.

a very unique place. rich in history.
need a stronger WiFi. weak signal from the room

location, facilities, car parking, really good bar, spacious, quiet room.
price at €400 per night was extortionate.

Staff were very welcoming and helpful at Reception and in the restaurant. The rooms are spacious enough and the beds very comfortable. The surrounding area of Ballsbridge is very pleasant and an easy bus ride or walk into the city centre.
We had stayed at the hotel six years ago, and really enjoyed the quirky character of the hotel and a candle lit dinner in the old school hall. This time, the only dining option was in the incredibly noisy bar, packed after a major rugby match. There was no separate dining option for hotel guests or any separate residents lounge. Accommodation for the Saturday night was pricey, and one would have expected more special experience. Advertising for post rugby match drinks adorned the railings. Has the Schoolhouse now become a pub with rooms?

comfy bed, designer decor and strong shower. bar downstairs served great food
very hard to be picky about anything. maybe just enable more apps to work on the TV. But then why would you stay in when you could be downstairs.
7.0
comfy bed
OK distance to walk from town
Came to help work the heating which I couldn't get to turn on
Room was dark, not cleaned well (finger plaster on the floor by my bed the whole 4 days)

The beds and duvets were exceptional so comfortable. The food in the hotel was really good with very polite staff
A little information in the room would have been helpful ie breakfast times and possible bus links into centre

The staff is very helpful. We didn't have iron in the room, but it was promptly provided on complaint. Ample power sockets and USB ports were available in the room for devices. Wifi worked well too.
In general, the room was clean and functional, but it didn't feel like 4-star hotel. For instance, the cabinet in bathroom needed mending, the pillows were hard (gave me a neckache), and the shampoo was very low quality (left a rubbery feel in hair).

The room was quite big. Everything was classy and shiny and whatever you'd expect in a good hotel. Bathrobes, moisturizers, etc. Kettle for coffee etc. A very good shower. A very nice bed. Quiet. Fresh indoor air. In short, everything was great inside the room. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.
My room was in the basement, though it had ok natural light anyway with a biggish window to a wide light well (or what do you call that "moat" around the house). Speaking of which, the staff sometimes moved there just behind the window. The room description mentioned a "terrace" which I definitely did not have, but I did not even notice the mention before I was leaving, so did not ask about it. This all was ok for me, staying for one night alone, but if you plan a romantic getaway or something, maybe check where your room is first.

Wonderful building, with charm, beauty and a reverence to a more graceful time, that was unexpected in the hustle and bustle of a busy city such as Dublin.
