Very clean and good location

We had a great stay at the house! It was very clean, spacious and cute decor. It is walkable to the beach, which was very enjoyable. We also used this location as a place to spend some time in Chicago as well (about an hour drive). The kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals and the grill outside was handy. We even spotted some deer while out back. The host is very responsive - the air was not working very well and the upstairs room was quite warm. I let her know and she sent fans via Instacart that night. My kids greatly appreciated those! We had a great visit. Thank you.

The house was very clean and comfortable. The decor and vibe were much better than most house rentals we have been in. There were many extra little thoughtful touches that made it more welcoming. It had everything we needed and more. The children loved the upstairs space. The walk to the beach was very doable with young children and the wagon they provided made it even easier. We would stay again if we are ever back in the area.

Second stay in this lovely home. Entire home was clean & the decor is adorable throughout. Pictures are exact representation of home. We stayed during winter so we didn't use the backyard with grill & firepit but those accommodation would be great in other seasons. Mandy was prompt with responses to my questions via the app. Check process in was a breeze. Highly recommend renting this home.

We liked everything about this house except the mattresses. They all need to be replaced. Uncomfortable and most are dipped in the middle as of fall 2023.

We had the most delightful stay for our son’s wedding weekend! It’s not often that a rental exceeds your expectations but this one did! It was clean and roomy with lots of options for places to hangout whether we wanted to be all together or to tuck away for a little quiet time. The home was very well stocked with dishes, cookware, beach supplies, etc. The homeowner was very quick to respond whenever I had a question. I highly recommend this property!

Overall a great week. The walk to the beach is about a quarter mile and fairly flat. If you have a wagon, walk out via Louisiana Street, there is a better path over the sand. The beach was pleasantly nice and clean. Beautiful areas around to walk/hike. Lots of restaurants in Mich City or New Buffalo (10 min away). The house is new, clean and comfy. A/C works well. The grill was out of propane but Amanda took care of it quickly before dinner that night. We had a fire out back every night. Kids ranging from toddlers to 8yo had a blast at the beach and hiking the dunes.

We got the house to have a few friends celebrate my fiancée's birthday and had a lovely weekend. Everything went off without a hitch!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this lovely home! Mandy was very easy to work with, and accessible. This home was immaculately clean, and very tastefully decorated. The towels were fluffy, and the beds were very comfy! There was plenty of room in the home for everyone in our group. We hope to stay here again!

Everyone loved this home. The layout was perfect for our needs with spacious open floor plan to enjoy meals and free time together. Master bedroom and bath are very nice. Other 2 bedrooms smaller but were fine for us although another room with king size bed would have been nice. A nice outdoor space which we enjoyed in the evenings with a fire in the fire-pit, making smores, chasing lightning bugs and watching the deer. The upstairs space was just what the 5 grandchildren needed with a spacious room to have their sleepover. It had a large rec room with foosball table and TV for those before bedtime movies. Plenty of room to store and play with toys they brought from home. Not to mention their own bathroom. The location to the lake was great. The home provided a wagon, umbrella, and beach chairs which we greatly appreciated. It was a nice walk to the beach but also easy to do a drop off and pickup. The neighborhood is beautiful and was peaceful during our stay. Our VRBO hostess was very accessible and helpful before & during our trip. The weather was unusually hot for couple days and nights. We had concern about upstairs air conditioning - I reached out to her and heard back quickly. She followed up by having someone out there to check the unit. Due to our home situation during our stay in Michigan City we were able to relax, enjoy exploring, playing at the Lake and making lots of memories.

Perfect for our stay. We had 5 adults and 4 kids. Clean and well decorated but not too many things young kids could get into and break. Plenty of room! Great location to walk to the beach. Lots to do in the area. The host is kind and easy to contact! We would stay again!

This home had all of the amenities to make our stay very comfortable! We had 8 adults, and everyone had a blast! All of the bedrooms were spacious and the living and dining rooms open concept allowed for us to spread out to play cards or watch TV and still be connected. Home is in walking distance to beach and park for easy trips with little ones.

A lovely house with great amenities. Ideal size and ability to accommodate our group of 8 people, ranging from adults to kids. A slight hiccup with the access code upon arrival but was solved quickly. Otherwise, a perfect stay.

Great experience dealing with Amanda. Home is well appointed and clean. Like the privacy of the layout. Two bedrooms on main floor with queen beds that share a full bath. Back of house had master bedroom with in suite full bath. Upstairs bunk and game room. Kitchen was great and enjoyed the backyard with fire pit. Would rent again.

Myself and a couple friends enjoyed our stay at this clean and modern house close to the beach. We used it for a Notre Dame weekend getaway. It was perfect!

This is a very overdue review. Last Thanksgiving we stayed there with other members of our family, including 5 kids. It was wonderful having room for everyone to stay, and we had room for the entire family in the area to come over for Thanksgiving Day. Good location, with easy access to everything needed.

The house is new and was immaculate. It is located a short walk from a gorgeous Lake beac.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Michigan City! The area was quaint and had a lot to offer a family ranging from 10 months to 63 years old. We loved the close proximity to the beach, zoo, restaurants, and downtown/art district. The rental felt rural, but we were so close to everything without big city noise. We saw tons of deer and birds during our stay! The house provided plenty of space for 5 people and my kids adored all the games and toys available for them. My 3 and 1/2 year old son couldn't get enough of the upstairs areas! :) The only negatives were some cleanliness issues and lack of certain items we personally would have utilized and loved to see available to renters. Such as the hand mixer was missing the beaters (or we couldn't find them anywhere) the food processor didn't work, the blender was extremely dirty as was the oven and some cabinet shelves and the fridge could have been wiped out better. The bathrooms fans and ceiling fans needed to be dusted badly as well. We would have loved a mop and some cleaning spray for counter tops to use during our stay because kids make messes and we wanted to be able to clean up when chocolate milk spills lol. The grill also hadn't been cleaned for some time and when I did bring that to the owners attention she ordered us grilling tongs and a grill brush as we grilled almost every night of our stay and we REALLY appreciated that! We noticed it was very dirty under the large pieces of furniture (couch and beds) but with a 10 month old crawling all over, we notice these areas more than most probably. We found food and trash in the couch cushions when we lost a small toy in between. The master bath shower was awesome, so relaxing! We also were grateful that a high chair and pack and play were available to use because we already had SO much to bring with two young children! We all agreed we would love to return and rent again in the late spring or summer and maybe bring a few friends and explore more of what the area has to offer! Thank you Mandy! 😊

Our annual trip to the Michigan City area had us staying in this home for the first time this year, and it was delightful! A great setup for family together time, room for the kiddos to have their own space, and one of the better appointed homes we've stayed in. The beach was great and a short (10 minute) walk; as others mentioned in their reviews, would recommend going one block to either side of Lake Street to enter the beach on a matted path - it makes a world of difference! Communication was very clear, and we very much enjoyed our stay.

Family had a good time

Our multi-generational family of five just returned from our first visit to Michigan City, and we all agree it won't be our last. Our family ranged in age from seven to 77, and Mandy's beautiful home was perfect for all of us. The tastefully decorated house has so much room, which offers areas both for together time and for private time. It has a very well equipped kitchen, three full bathrooms, one with a walk-in shower which was a must for us, and our favorite room at the back of the house, which we termed "the morning room." The house has a lovely backyard where we saw deer in the morning. We were able to enjoy s'mores over the firepit with the firewood Mandy left. The house is an easy walk to the beach and the zoo, and a short drive to just about anywhere else we wanted to go. The home was so clean and had everything we needed, and more. Mandy was great with communication! She made our first vacation to Michigan City easy, enjoyable, and memorable!

We would definitely rent this house again. Great use of space, very clean. Had all the outdoor items needed for the beach, the owners really put some thought into this. Kudos!!

This was our fourth time staying at this fantastic home and it was as wonderful as always! This home fits our group perfectly -with the four teenagers taking over the upstairs (with four single beds in a large room, a game room, and a full bathroom), two little ones in one queen room, one adult in another queen room (with a full bathroom between) and mom/dad/baby in the master bedroom with en suite bathroom (and a fantastic walk in shower). Having a high chair, pack and play, and baby gate available was so convenient too! While everyone had their own space we also enjoyed being able to easily gather the whole gang in the living room on the comfy sectional, around the new dining room table, out back at the new patio table, or around the fire pit. The new Weber grill was a great size to prepare quick dinners after sunset and before making s'mores. We spent a lot of time at the beach (just a short walk - and recommend using the beach path at the end of California Street - one block west) because the weather was perfect, but were also able to visit the lovely zoo, shop at the outlet mall, pick blueberries, and go bowling. We love continuing to make memories at this home that has become very special to us and looking forward to next year already!

This property worked very well for our family vacation! The house was lovely, clean, and well stocked with everything we needed for our weeks stay. The short walk to the beach was fantastic! Would definitely stay again!

We were seeking a short getaway after the July 4th holiday for our family of 4. Our teenage son also invited two of his friends. This house was perfect!! The owner had thought of everything that made our stay wonderful! They provided beach chairs, a wagon a gas grill, fire pit and wood! We couldn’t have asked for more! The boys claimed the upstairs as their domain. There was a 4 single beds in one room and couch, tv and fusball table in the other. They set up their gaming system on the TV. Their only complaint was that their feet hung over the ends of the beds - which might have meant that they were designed for children less than 6 ft tall! Our daughter came solo and stayed on the first floor in one of the double bedrooms. My husband and I had the master suite. The mattress was great. Both of us slept really well and maybe should consider getting a king bed at home! We fixed dinner twice which for these boys meant grilled hamburgers and fries. When the directions on the frozen fries asked for parchment paper, I was sure we didn’t have any. But I opened the drawer and there it was! Truly the owner had thought of EVERYTHING!!! We spent one evening around the fire pit and had a great family and friends time. The home was beautifully decorated and very, very clean. Thank you for sharing it with us!
