I have a large family and this was our first big family vacation in about a decade. There are kids and spouses that weren't around the last time we did something like this, so this trip was a long time coming, very needed and an overall wonderful time! The house was very clean and exactly as advertised. I don't think anyone was prepared for all the steps as the number of floors wasn't mentioned, but we chalked it up to getting our steps in. The pocket doors make sense for space, but they were heavy and hard for the smaller kids and my parents. Not having sheets for the entire stay was the only real issue. Personally, my family and I were unaffected by this and we used the blankets provided. We had a great time and cannot wait to go back next year for more memories.

We stayed in this unit as a large family (grandparents, children and grandchildren). We all had plenty of space. It was a manageable walk to the beach. House needs a little TLC but it was ok for the value.

House was nice and spacious with everything you need to start your trip. Pool and hot tub were AMAZING! Games, lots of books and movies available throughout the house. Location is very close to the Food Lion and a couple of local shops. Walk to the beach is appx 5 blocks. You should take a wagon or cart, or it would be difficult.

The house was spacious. We loved the fact that there were so many bathrooms and showers. The kitchen and living room upstairs was great. We could all be together in that open space. The balcony was also very nice and had lots of chairs. The pool was clean and the kids loved it. The only complaint I have is about cockroaches. We saw one the first night, we didn’t think it was a big deal because we know that they are quite common in southern coastal towns, but we kept seeing them every evening. One night we saw 5. We still had a good time at this rental. It was a good 10 minute walk from the beach. It was a bit too much if we wanted to bring a cooler and chairs. We ended up going to the beach with our car every day and using the designated parking area, which was about 10 minutes away by car. The beach was beautiful. There were plenty of restaurants. We played mini putt and went to see the wild horses. Our teenagers went Jets skiing, this is a good location for young families to relax. Our older teenagers and young adults would’ve preferred to have more attractions for them in the evenings, but still enjoyed their vacation.

Nicely decorated house with many amenities but was not totally clean when we arrived—sandy entryways, sand on mattresses, gum on headboard, dirty clothes in a drawer. Missing some basics like trash receptacles in all rooms. No gas grill. No shade at the pool. Pool table was flaking big pieces of rust.

Carpet was very diri tty and a few bugs were found in the house. Kitchen could be better stocked. Also had a problem with the sheets delivered on the first day but that was fixed quickly. The driveway on this property is awfully steep.Also, the hot tub needs steps. Older adults could not use it, which was a big disappointment. Won't be staying here again.

Great location, beautiful home, needs updating of furniture and a better cleaning service.
We had a great time here, close to shops, close to beach, the pool area was wonderful, the house was beautiful but not well cleaned, sadly the last tenants were also not clean as they put all dishes away with food on them! No email or call with instructions on where to check in, door was unlocked when we got there (thank god) as we were late due to traffic and had no idea we should have stopped all the way back in Duck to pick up keys. Also all amenities are also in Duck which is disappointing when my teenage children realized they couldn't walk to the basketball or tennis courts or community pool or playground.

The property cleanliness was okay. There were cobwebs and an abundance of bugs, bugs mostly outside but some in. We had a spider fall on our food at the dining room table during our boil! I don’t know if the bug issue is due to the area but by the last night the kids were over the bugs. I think an exterminator and someone to spray outside would be very beneficial. The prior reviews mentioned that coaches were not good and they were right! Definitely a pet friendly place…we didn’t have our pets along. I’m guessing that’s why the carpets and coaches clearly needed replaced. The location was good but the house is lacking upkeep outside.

Beautiful week in Corolla
Roomy, lovely house with a view of the ocean in the distance. Very nice walking path and the beach a short walk away. This was a spring break trip with my mid-teenagers so it was very low key. Loved the hot tub! We are being very COVID-safe so did not eat in restaurants but did a lot of take-out and had delicious meals in Corolla and in Duck. The house was a great value. I had one question (I couldn't find the linens, which were in a bin in the carport) and the staff of the rental company was very responsive.

Really nice house . Loved that every bedroom had a full private bath. Well equipped kitchen. Beds were very comfortable.
Sofas need replacing in common area however.
They were uncomfortable and cushions are shot.

Family Vacation
The house was nice but did not measure up to our expectations. The house needed major upgrading. The living room furniture was terrible. The rugs were worn and in disrepair. The pool was nice however should have been cleaned during the week. The laundry room was dirty and on the wall was a disgusting mop. No one on their right mind would use it to clean. The beds had no mattress pads on them and especially during Covid should have mattress covers and pillow covers. We had to call twice for the bath towels and beach towels. The pool area was dirty and the back patio was dirty. This house definitely needs attention. Some of the windows were rotting.

Fun Week
Had an enjoyable week at this vacation house. Prefer to be a little further north in Corolla where it’s quieter but this house is in walking distance of all the stores which is a nice convenience. Pool at the house is great, one of the bigger pools you’ll find with a rental home in OBX. Absolutely no shade at the pool so the water is 90 degrees. The three bedrooms with bathrooms is a nice feature, and the kitchen is well stocked. Ample deck space and you can see a sliver of the ocean from the main deck. House only has a medium sized charcoal grill. Have been coming to OBX for years and so few houses provide guests with a nice grill. Just don’t get how you have rentals that sleep 16 and you have a modestly sized charcoal grill in the backyard? Don’t know that owners of this or many of the other properties in OBX pay very close attention or invest much in upgrading the properties. After all, there are many comments about the grill in these reviews and yet nothing has been done to upgrade it. For the price they get for the house, owners could splurge $400 on a very nice, large, gas grill! It’s these finer details that would make this place great. But I’m not the first to say it.

Property was a nice place in a quiet neighborhood. An easy walk to the beach.

Very nice
Overall was good, except we had a swarm of mosquitoes in the pool. It put the pool out of use for two days. The pool maintenance was not available and we finally had to scoop out and clean the pool ourselves. It was not easy keeping our 7 young Grandchildren busy without the pool.

The house is so much nicer than the pictures show. The space of this house is very large and the pool was definitely a fan favorite. The only cons I can possibly think of is that the Jacuzzi tub in the 3rd floor bathroom did not work and also the place could use a larger grill, other than that the house is PERFECT.

There were many good aspects of this rental including the layout of the house the pool was the highlight of our stay very clean. The house is in general need of some attention the carpets need professional cleaned, along with fabric on the furniture many visible stains. We had to put our own batteries in a couple of the remotes as the batteries were dead and it is in dire need of a new coffee pot the location is good for the four-wheel-drive beach very close to grocery stores and shopping which was nice neighborhood was very quiet I would agree with the reviews that I read prior to renting this house is good but with some much-needed attention could be a really great rental.

Our family of 15 enjoyed our stay at Seascapade! The home was nicely decorated and felt very warm and cozy. We loved sitting on the top deck enjoying the ocean views and loved hanging out at the large pool that got all day sun! I would recommend a larger grill and a second fridge! House was nice, good layout. Not very good cleaning, but not filthy - sheets from two weeks were left on deck, lots of cobwebs on light fixtures,etc. No yard work had been done in ages, but I spent a half hour weeding around the pool and the back courtyard and it looked good. Grill is not usable. Claim of an "ocean view" is a bit misleading, you need to crane your neck to get a glimpse of water, but it is an easy walk to beach - .4 miles and even though you cross main road, traffic always stops for pedestrians.Store, mini golf,etc. within walking distance. 2 fishing piers close by. Great pool. Overall, as price was less than some, it was well worth it.

This house is wonderfully suited for all types of families. What we loved best were all the little extra added items; great selection of books, tons of utensils in the kitchen, plenty of dishes and cups. Our family included nine adults and 3 teenagers and we never felt cramped for space. The home is close to the grocery store and shopping and a short distance to public beach parking.
As with any rental there were some items that were in need of repair but nothing major. Overall great experience and would rent here again.

Easy to get keys from Corolla rental office location. House is convenient to grocery store and several restaurants. Home was not very clean on arrival, smelled like someone just sprayed a lot of Febreeze. Home itself had a good layout, enjoyed the decks and back/pool area. It is great that each bedroom had a bathroom. Driveway is so steep the cars hit unless you went sideways, pictures/description does not indicate steepness at all. Drains were clogged requiring us to buy a snake and unclog ourselves. Dated slipcover was ripped on sofa and multiple rug stains. The internet service was unreliable. It is a nice neighborhood, with areas to walk/ride bikes. There is no easy way to get to the beach, the crosswalk is dangerous as it is right after a sharp turn and cars come around it fast. The membership at the club a mile away is nice, though they did not have kayaks as advertised. We enjoyed our stay, however for the price, the lack of cleanliness/dated look of furniture and TV's/difficulty of beach access would cause us to look for a different house when we return to OBX.

We enjoyed staying at this house. 8 adults and 6 children under six fit perfectly. The pool was our favorite part! The pool was big enough for us all to enjoy and it was a perfect size. The house is a quick walk to the beach, and from the top deck you can see the ocean! We would definitely stay here again.

Hits: - Pool was great. Kids loved that as an option once the waves wore them out. - Plenty of room for two families with kids to spread out. - Access to the clubhouse with amenities was nice. - Location convenient to everything. Misses: - Lack of cleanliness. Spent the first day of vacation cleaning. IE, Sticky counter-tops, table, and floors. Dishes was suspect as well. - Property Mgt Co. had to call the exterminator to deal with the ants in the kitchen. Response was prompt and effective. - carpets needed to be steam cleaned, if not replaced all together. - Living room furniture has seen better days - Exterior not as nice as the picture suggests.

The realty company was very nice and helpful. There were a few problems with the property. Many of the lights in the house did not work, at least one or two on each floor. Also, there were spiders everywhere in the home. Lastly, the furniture and overall condition of the home was mediocre. It was obvious the owners had not updated the home in many years. The grill is very small. We loved the pool and the deck space. The layout of the home is great and there are plenty of bathrooms. Overall, we had a good time. If there were a few updates and a little care put into the house it would be great. We would definitely recommend this property if the owners made upgrades.
