Location. Space. Quite.

Bathroom not clean. Poor Internet. Cold at times and no means to heat property.

The Villa was in a good location, nice and quiet most of the time. Great size very spacious, lovely garden and pool. Having the garage to keep the car cool was a bonus. Air conditioning in the bedrooms was brilliant. Lajares has a lovely feel to it relaxed and friendly, good mix of nationalities, nice places to eat and shop. A lovely lady came to clean and gives us fresh linen, and the pool was cleaned.

The coordinates we were sent took to Villa number 8, we found Villa 2 and 3 but not Villa 1. We had been travelling since the early hours so were tired, it was hot and the number we called the lady did not speak good English. It took us at least 45 minutes to find the Villa. The Villa behind our property had a party the last weekend we were there, at least 20 people. This continued over 2 days with loud music from early evening until the early hours and then started at 8 am the next day. The sofas were very uncomfortable. The outside area could do with more shaded areas. The kitchen was not well equipped, we love to cook when in the Canaries as the produce is so good, we had to buy several basic items which I would expect to be provided eg roasting tin, sharp knives, mugs, wine glasses.

What we liked the most was the quiet area where the villa is located. The villa (MEZO 5) was very clean, large, well equipped kitchen, fine bathroom with all utilities you need. Washingmachine is present in the garage.

We missed a safe. 2 bedrooms were locked, so we couldn't figure out if it might be present there! We where here for the first time and we came after dark. It was hard to find the villa because the house numbers were not in a logical order. We've found MEZO 4 first and next to it was number MEZO 6. Number MEZO 5 happened to be round the corner. But these matters won't keep us away next time. We will book the Villa more times in the future.

It‘s very quiet, private. Even though there are other villas around, you don‘t really notice it. It’s great to have your private swimming pool. Also the washing machine came in handy, when getting back from the beach with towels and bathing suits all salty and sandy. The water boiler for tea wasn’t working and a grate for the oven was missing. We reported it and got a replacement/grate the other day. Nice. We like the small village of Lajares. There is everything we need. We rented bikes and explored the surroundings every morning. The afternoon we went to the beach in El Cotillo. A very quiet beach, not crowded at all. The first 2 days we were even almost alone! For kids bikes you have to go to El Cotillo by the way. They don’t rent out kids bikes anymore in Lajares.

The wifi is crap. There is just no or a very poor internet connection that stops all the time. It is the third year that we are in Villas Mazo, and it has not improved a bit. And nothing will be done about it either. We reported it, and asked where we could find the router to see if we could get a better signal when we moved closer, but the only reply was a repetition of the pincode.

Great villa. Very big and spacious in quiet location only 2 minute drive into the town. Lajares is such a lovely vibey surf village perfect for those looking for a surf or even just a nice, quiet stay in a quiet/ not touristy place.
