I recently stayed at Le Mas des Gardettes for three nights and I can highly recommend this accommodation for several reasons. Certainly having access to kitchen facilities in my own unit cut back significantly on my living expenses while in Saint-Paul-de-Vence. It is extremely handy to the highly touted Fondation Maeght, no doubt a major reason for visiting the area, as it’s only about an eight-minute walk. And finally, it was a real pleasure meeting the proprietor of the facility as Anna is highly knowledgeable about fine art and she was more than willing to share her expertise in this area. She too was very hospitable and generous with her time when I encountered a couple of difficulties during my visit. I arrived without a car and with a suitcase with no longer functioning wheels. Anna immediately offered to take me to a nearby town’s shopping plaza to shop for a new suitcase. And on the night before my departure, I learned that there no longer was an afternoon bus that I originally had planned to catch and ordering an early morning taxi would be difficult to obtain. Anna once again came to the rescue and sacrificed some shut-eye the following morning to take me to the town’s bus terminal. Needless to say, Anna’s hospitality was beyond what one could expect and was very much appreciated.

The location is great. Around a kilometar from Saint Paul de Vance in a picturesque nature, surrounded by trees and birds. Walking to the village was a 15 minute hike but a great joy. The price is very reasonable and Anna, the host, was really sweet.

It wasn't the cleanest I've ever seen and even though they said I should take my own bed linings I wasn't expecting there to be no soap. There was toilet paper though.
