The food was very nice and the rooms were quite comfortable

The dinner and breakfast were very good. We had requested gluten free and vegetarian the waiting staff were very helpful and made sure that they liased with the kitchen so that we got what we asked for.

Good sized clean room which is nicely decorated, west facing has good open view Clean bathroom and small but "ok" gym facilities (nb if you are looking, there is no pool) Rooms are well sound proofed

Stayed for two nights, the service on the first night was super slow and the food came drowned in sauce and dressing to the point of almost being inedible, second night avoided the toppings

Standard comfortable hotel

Impersonal experience, unprepared staff. It was my birthday and the staff couldn’t care less. I’ve stayed in many hotels on my bday and always get at least a happy birthday card. In this hotel, the staff couldn’t even bother to say ‘Happy bday’. At the reception desk, after sharing that I cycled the Elfstedentocht for my bday celebration, the receptionist replied ‘good for you’. Simply rude. Later on, I made a reservation at the restaurant and after dinner, the waiter kindly brought me a slice of apple pie as a bday ‘surprise’. Nice gesture, right? When I got the bill, the ‘surprise’ was charged - even the whip cream was charged. Pathetic and unpleasant surprise that was. Next morning, receptionist asks about my stay and I say it wasn’t so good. Her response? The value of my bill. How on earth can you ask a guest how the stay was and completely ignore it when the response isn’t what you expected? definitely not coming back to any van der valk hotels.

Cosy and stylish room. Complete bathroom. Small but good gym. Free Sauna. Plenty (free) parking. Good food. Perfect complete breakfast. Quiet rooms. Nice balcony at each room. Spacious.

Be reminded that it is outside the centre of Leeuwarden. We knew this when we booked.

Convenient access from highway, Quiet room, friendly staff, and awesome breakfast buffet.

There was black mildew in the shower. I kept getting messages from them offering extras, for a price. Annoyingly persistent.

Rooms are very nice and luxurious.

Some problems with a bill that was put on the room but which I already paid at the bar self. Not a big thing, but just annoying.

I loved that there was a sensor next to the bed so when I got up during the night, the sensor turned some low level lights on. The bed was very comfy and big!! The breakfast was plentiful and tasty.

Because we didn't know the area we had an evening meal in the restaurant as we were very hungry. Unfortunately there wasn't a menu in English and had to rely on Google to translate. We did ask for help from the waitresses but even that was time consuming. Waited to check out but there was no one there so left our key on the desk.
