First time staying here. Loved the location! Beautiful sunrise and sunset views from 2nd floor deck. Walking distance to the pier, bars, and restaurants. The complimentary snacks, fresh fruit, and Charcuterie plates, sodas/wine/coffee, and multiple breakfast items were amazing! Lovely added bonus! Absolutely LOVE that it is pet friendly. Very clean house! Will definitely be coming back!
The curtains did not completely cover the window, and it was incredibly bright as soon as the sun came up. Perhaps blackout curtains would solve this issue. The bath towels were incredibly small; the towel did not even wrap completely around me, and I am small! I am being really petty, but those 2 changes would go a long way!

We loved the location. The afternoon wine and cheese happy hour was nice - gave us a chance to visit with other guests.

Loved the fact we were able to bring our dog. We stayed in the Pier View room and it was really nice having the entire middle floor of the porch. The porch was entirely closed in as well so our dog was able to hang out without us worrying about her getting off the porch/patio. Loved the pool, jacuzzi tub in the room, light breakfast items, wine and snacks in the afternoon and the short walk to the pier! We had a great time and will definitely return.

There was no breakfast when we left at 7:20.
There was no lamp or working light in the bedroom. I called the owner and he did not fix it while we were there. The only available light was from an extremely dull and bug filled light that went with the fan. We could not even read the numbers on the remote.

It was our first time in Kill Devil Hills It was a very nice home and It was super close to the beach! The room was cozy with a nice view from the deck. The owner was very nice! He provided breakfast and afternoon snacks!! The pool was clean and had a great temperature!!
Nothing! Some of the other guests were loud in the early morning but that is not the owners fault.

Location.
Property was in the middle of renovation and we got paint and water on us as we were walking into front door. Holes in the walls of bedroom where we were in. Happy hour food still out in the morning.

Comfortable room. Pet friendly. Beach access across the street. Good value especially during season.
I didn’t have any negative issues

The location so close to the beach. The pool on the grounds ( although needed to be cleaned) the room was nice. The manager played great music. The balcony on our room was lovely. The staff were very nice and felt very safe there as well.
I wished the food that was left out covered, there were flies everywhere. . Pool could have been cleaned.

My only complaint is that the room needs a small dresser somewhere.

Location was perfect. Avalon pier is just a couple minutes by walk away. It's just across the street to the beach. 5-10 minutes from anything you need to get to.
Security mostly, price for the seasonal time, and some small maintenance and room cosmetics are the only issues.
-$200+ for one night
- 1st floor is unlocked at all times. Which gives access to the house to anyone
- Dead bolt to balcony door in our room - which connects unlocked to common area hallway didn't line up to lock. Only a knob lock.
- Toilet seat could be slid 30-40 degrees left or right.
- TV, wall mounted, had all the cables hanging down
-Pool gate off hinge when opened
- Booking said no dogs, yet 1st floor occupant had a big barker upon arrival; saw it next morning cruising off leash around the house, and there were dog treats in a jar in the 1st floor kitchen common area? Got a couple doggos that would have loved to come with us.
-Owner/resident has a small barking dog and ya can hear them moving about upstairs on the 2nd floor when coming in at night
-Continental breakfast isn't hot - pre-packaged pop tarts, granola bars, pastries, oatmeal packets, keurig pods w/ packet and powder sugar/creamer

The location was great which made it easy to get around. The property and the room were exceptionally clean as well.
The only negative was that there was no one there to connect with once you arrive and the breakfast was really bad.

Convenient to everywhere I wanted to go ❣️I loved it & I especially loved the jacuzzi ❣️
I was on the 2nd floor. That was my fault that I didn’t inquire about ground floor rooms. I walk with a cane. However, when I book another stay & there are only 2nd floor rooms I still want to stay there ❣️

Proximity to the beach.
Breakfast was set for a 6-year old chid - pop tarts, instant oatmeal & grits, 4 powdered doughnuts and single-serve cereal boxes.
We used the Keurig to make our own coffee and discovered how gross and unkept the kitchen was. The powdered creamer was a solid brick with dead bugs in it; and the sugar was hard as a rock with rust on the lid!
We did not expect to have to go to an amazing breakfast at WaveRider after spending over $200 at this “Bed & Breakfast”
It was obvious the minute we entered our room (Deck Side Room) the cleaning was at best minimal. From carpet stains; bugs; mold in the bathroom; molded and dusty vents it instantly made us feel grungy!

Good central location. We really enjoyed the fact that after the initial booking, we didn't have to find a realty office to pick up and drop of keys. The house was simply and comfortably appointed. The stay was relaxing and our host Mike was very gracious and accommodating. I enjoyed his music selections very much. We would definitely stay here again.
I retired from factory maintenance in 2020. It is something that I can't turn off. With that being said, I noticed a few things that needed some repair. The only thing that somewhat affected our stay was an extremely slow moving bathroom sink, which I was able to plunger to remedy.

The location was awesome and the price was great. In spite of my previous commenat the small touches in the common area were thoughful and they did a good job keeping up on them. Very dog friendly and convenient to most things in that area.
There was no storage in the room. The room accomidated 3 people with no dressers, only 2 usable outlets, no tables by the bed to put your phone on. The bathroom had no where to hang our bathtowels or hand towels on. When we needed toilet paper there were no extras in the bathrrom. (And a partial roll when we checked in). We made sure our dog was quiet but the owners dogs were barked nonstop when they weren't there. And our last couple of nights the owners playedmusic really loud. And the air conditioner went out, we decided to leave a day early and come home. The full size bed in our room was pretty tough on our backs.

I was pleased the staff did correct the stopped up bath tub as requested in a timely manner.
The host did provide snacks throughout the day and night.
No side tables, no lamps, ceiling recessed light was out and staff didn't replace it when I asked. The room was very small and had no place to put my luggage. I booked an Oceanview room and it was changed to a tiny room on the back over looking a neighborhood pool that was very noisy with kids play. The light on the stairs would not come on until you walked up the dark stairs and around the corner to trigger the auto switch, this is a hazard.

The location is amazing. Perfect. The room size and the house is absolutely adorable. The deck and the bathroom were of great size. All of the accommodations and amenities were great.
The cleanliness was lacking. It was absolutely fine, but there were lots of bugs, dust on the ceiling fan, and dead roaches in the bathroom.

excellent environment and the amenities were wonderful. Very clean and well kept
a small dresser in the room would have been nice,,,the mattress is worn though and should be replaced on the full sized bed..excessive sag in center and you can feel the springs in some areas,Was not unbearable..just past its prime

The location was perfect. Very close to the pier and eateries. The facility was very clean which made up all the other things a $500 stay was missing. Parking was sufficient. All guests were very considerate where this was concerned. Also the facility was quiet especially for a holiday weekend.
For a $500 a night room the wine and breakfast selections could have been better. The most annoying and unbelievable discovery was the plastic mattress cover. This made for a restless night sleep.

This dog friendly property is a gem in Kill Devil Hills - a short walk to the beach (a 5 min stroll), right beside an amazing oyster bar (Awful Arthur’s), and central to everything you want to see (10-20 drive). It also has a pool that we were super grateful to take a dip in. Daily happy hour of wine and snacks was the cherry on top for this Outer Banks vacation.
