I loved the quiet space and comfortable atmosphere of Hotel Mariposa. Ana is probably… no, for sure the most accommodating host you’ll meet. She puts your needs above her own to make sure you have a pleasant stay. I spent two weeks enjoying my own private space, a comfortable bed, outdoor showers, and a great pool that was cleaned daily. Good place for peace of mind.

Encantada del lugar y la atención, Ana es maravillosa
No tengo quejas, Talvez solo que el menú de comida sea variado

Very cozy and safe. Cute setup and excellent staff. Made us feel right at home after a long, stressful drive. Marta was so accommodating and the breakfast was delicious. Laundry service, called in pizza delivery for us. It was nice to feel taken care of, like we were with our mom’s house after a long, stressful day.

We like the slightly out of town locations as it is quiet and we need secure motorcycle parking. It was quiet and whilst the bikes were off the road, they were not as secure as we would have liked - that said, it was a nice neighbourhood.
The room was very clean and we loved the outside toilet/shower - quirky but really functional. No hot water but certainly warm enough.
No AC but the fan/s were more than enough for a comfortable night. Mosquitto net over the bed.
Good hanging space and shelves.
Pool was very very nice. Bungalows are hidden from each other with great landscaping.
Breakfast was good.
Staff very helpful.
Organised a taxi to and from town - ask for Enrique.
Restaurant was a bit expensive but thats what you get for being out of town.
Motorcycle parking could be a bit more secure - even a chain across the parking area would be beneficial.

The pictures are just a glimpse into this amazing spot.

Nice, laid-back outside setting
unreliable & rude staff; booking me overpriced taxis and on leaving making me pay 100 Córdobas for water bottles handed to me as 'service.' Receptionist getting irrititated because I asked too many questions. Two cooks preparing breakfast pretending not to understand my question in (good) Spanish whether I could have my breakfast now. etc

nice pool area we liked the tiny cabins, breakfast was ok.
they charged us 10$ for 2,5kg of laundry which is way overpriced. that was a little bit unfair

I specially liked the Bathroom, it’s really beautiful. The bungalow is really confortable and the pool is great. The staff very kind and helpful.
No AC 😞

The room was lovely, but it is open air at the top and the bed has a mosquito net, which wasn't even needed, there were no mosquitos. The bathroom has no roof, it's like showering outdoors, we were surprised at first, but it was quite a nice place! Free breakfast was great too! The pool and grounds are also really nice!
A mini fridge in the room would have been nice.

nice traditional local cottage, garden, pool and good local breakfast, nice and friendly staff

This place is beautiful: Small paradise right next to Leon!
Only 20min away (car) from The Beach (Pacific Ocean).
The Cabanas are nice (No AC but with aeration).
The regular rooms are super
comfortable (+ AC !)
Staff is incredible ; we Loved every minute of our 2 days stay.
Breakfast is very good (not much variety of choice but food is fresh and delicious).
Last : 40 minutes from Chichigalpa (if you want to visit the Flor de Cana Factory - Rum).
The las 40-50 meters of the road (to get there) are “bumpy” to say the least but it’s not
really a problem if you drive very slowly.

best hotel in two months of central america. the garden with pool is beautiful but the cabanas with open bathroom is GORGEOUS. a bit out of the city center so its quiet and the walk or taxi ride downtown is so worth it! bed is also very comfy and big!
they didnt have a water tank to fill up water for free and theres no place nearby to get lunch or dinner, but you’ll prob be downtown during the day anyway or you can order in.

it was beautiful, the bathroom was excellent. the staff went above and beyond for us. some of the sweetest people I’ve come across in my travels. I owe them so much for helping me and my boyfriend in a time of need.

the property was very nice, but a little far removed from the downtown and restaurants. the staff were super friendly and helpful.
the GSP send us through a very off road and sketchy route, so make sure you follow the main road.

the area was very nice
front desk lady was not pleasant at all. We reserved a room with 2 bungalows, 2 beds on each one ( according to pictures on Booking. com)& when we got there …. it was 2 bed & 1 bed bungalows, we asked the receptionist and simply she just said…. ahh there is an error! ; we asked as a courtesy to extend our check out time due to going to a Volcan cerro negro & again she just said…. No!
better costumer service perhaps!
Bungalows were nice!

It was a beautiful location sold as a relaxing vacation.
The owners were so mean. They closed the restaurant early our second night because they received a large food order and decided it was more important than taking care of their guests by honoring their word on restaurant hours from the day prior when we checked in. Told us to download an app to order delivery. I said that was disappointing and wife (co-owner) started yelling from the kitchen after the husband relayed the message. From then on, they made our entire stay awkward and uncomfortable. When my fiance asked for a blanket to compliment the single top sheet on the bed, the woman sighed loudly and gave it to her without a word. When i asked for a knife to eat the food we ordered for delivery the 2nd of 3 nights, she sighed loudly and didn't acknowledge me. The security guard had to walk into the kitchen to pass me a butter knife. It continued like that so we tried not to spend any time there. When I paid my bill, lady called me a liar and then husband decreased bill when only employee admitted I was right about a small discrepancy.
They have a one year old child and parrot that are loud, but it's advertised as a relaxing place. The husband and wife owners have a 1 year screaming child that they jump in the pool with while guests are in pool and when we were trying to rest our first night after traveling. My fiance didn't want to move to a new hotel for one night, and i didn't want to hassle with a refund for one night from booking.com. Don't make the same mistake I did while looking for relaxation and book here.

The staff was very friendly here and the pool was very nice, they kept it very clean. The wi-if was good, but a bit unreliable, it often dropped.
The location is out of town, you need to take a cab everywhere you go. There is only a restaurant on-site but it was closed when we were there (the cook’s day off, but no substitute) so there were no food options. We ended up going into town instead of being able to enjoy the beautiful grounds.

Hotel Mariposa was beautiful. The bungalows were very nice and the outdoor bathrooms were amazing.
I thought it was a little odd that you have to pay extra to use the refrigerators in the rooms & weren't able to bring food from outside.

Calm, not noisy
outside road needs some work, it was a bit difficult to drive

Wonderful place. Super relaxed and the staff went above and beyond to make my stay great.

The whole place is very pretty with so many beautiful plants and birds. The cabanas are very beautiful and comfortable. I was surprised they are so cool even without an AC.
The pool is very nice since it's so hot in Leon, and it was very clean.
Fatima is an amazing cook. Make sure to have dinner or lunch there and order from her Taiwanese menu. She puts so much love and creativity in her dishes.
Too many rules. This was the first hotel in 3,5 months of travel where you are not allowed to bring any food or drinks from outside. Not even in your room.
It can be a bit noisy. There was loud music most of the evening from one of the neighbours. But they stopped around 23:00 and after that I got a good night of sleep.

Comfortable beds, nice swimming pool area, and very peaceful setting - those are the highlights.
Even though this hotel has an incredible setting and wonderful rooms, their current management needs to refocus how they share information with their clients. Due to the property being farther away from the center of Leon, you the client, are dependent on the staff their to help you arrange transportation and to have available food service in their restaurant. My first impressions were a bit argumentative with a lot of “no's” as their answers. Be aware that the restaurant has limited service and times (Make sure you ask, as the times they have posted are incorrect.)
Plan ahead for taxis and eating in the mornings for breakfast as the reception, even though posted as 7 am to 10 pm, you will not be helped until well after 8:30 am. There is a pool assistant, but he doesn't have any access to the restaurant.
I think there is good potential here, the new management simply needs to better organize themselves and be more positive in their attitudes to helping their clients. For this time, this took away from my total experience. I think they need to have some more flexibility along with accountability.
