It’s hard to know where to begin when describing Rohotu Fare - it really is that unique and special. Nir is a modern-day Gaudi - his vision and creativity have created something so outside the norm that it’s nearly impossible to describe it in a way that does it justice - you just have to experience it. This is not a place for tourists that like international hotel chains and are not really interested in the culture and heritage of the place they’re visiting. However, if you want to experience a living work of art, surrounded by historic artefacts, carvings and tikis collected and created over a lifetime….if you want to shower outside in privacy but with water flowing from the hands of a female statue…..if you want to stay in a luxurious bungalow in the middle of lush forest with stupendous views - then you should go and stay at Rohotu Fare. Nir is one of the nicest and most interesting people you could ever meet and he and his lovely wife have created a true paradise in what is already paradise.
Don’t hesitate, just go!

Beautiful bungalow and well kept. The walk to get to it is also sublime. A small piece of paradise and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Bora Bora.
A couple of things that I personally didn’t like.
1) Not so private. You can hear other people’s conversations and movements from the next bungalows. I had hoped for a little more privacy.
2) Nir and his wife treated us very well and offered their help for driving us to the supermarket and the bank. But, a little room for improvement would be when booking restaurant reservations through them.
I was looking for a nice restaurant to celebrate our honeymoon and, after googling, found a couple of options that seemed interesting to us. I asked for assistance with reservations and was told that it couldn’t be done and to look at reservations on the main island instead.
While I may not know the ins and outs of the island, it would’ve been better to be provided with transportation options and cost for the restaurants I mentioned rather than a flat out no. When we found another option on the main island, we were told that we would need to book our own transportation. Again, that’s not a problem but a better service would have been that this would be taken care of as part of their hospitality service.
Furthermore, my wife and I had booked all our tours on our own prior to arriving. When we were asked if we needed help with tours and mentioned this, it did feel like we were met with a cold shoulder and suddenly couldn’t be driven to the main dock for one of our tours due to “insurance liability issues”, which seems odd given that we were just driven to to the main dock and back to go to the supermarket a few minutes before having this conversation.
3) We were offered to go to a local dance festival as they told us it would be a great show. We felt a little bit pressured to go since they asked us many times. We finally acquiesced. The cost of the event was $40 for two people and while it isn’t a big amount, we felt like it wasn’t a great show. Also, on our way back to the hotel, we were told that the festival was more for locals than tourists.

The property is secluded on an uphill in the Pofai Bay. There are 3 bungalows hidden in a kind of Botanical Garden with lots of statues and meandering foot-paths. The bungalow we stayed in was large and had an open kitchen and fining area that is well equipped with all amenities. The bathroom has a portion in open air which is out of the ordinary. It is covered in most part, but has a little stone and plants garden. Nir has created here a sanctuary. He is also very nice and attentive and a nice person to chat with.

Absolutely Everything! This place is beautiful. The owners Nir & his wife were amazing. Me and my husband enjoyed our entire stay . Our Bungalow was nothing short of amazing!!! Our view topped it off !! We couldn’t stop saying how happy we were to choose this place to stay . Nir made our stay even more pleasant by helping us get all of our activities booked , transportation set up & all restaurant reservations 😃.His wife kept our bungalow nice , clean & fresh. They are the best host we have ever encountered . My husband could not stop saying how creative the property was lol. Whenever we return to visit Bora Bora . We will definitely return here to stay ! Thanks again Nir for such great hospitality!!!
We liked everything about the property. There isn’t nothing to dislike .

Rohotu Fare is a truly unique and fantastic experience. Nir and Tiare are wonderful hosts who go above and beyond for their guests and make you feel like family. Rooms are spacious, well equipped, and of course sparkling clean. Everything from the decor to the garden and facilities are one of a kind and you can clearly tell that so much thought and dedication has gone into creating this island paradise. 5 stars!

The place is simply gorgeous! We stayed there for part of our honey moon and we were so happy to be there. The room was fantastic, very spacious and decorated with so much taste and antique pieces. The garden is amazing, it is like a jungle and the bathroom is actually outside in the nature. The owner Nir was very welcoming and helpful with all the sorts of information, and he told us so much about Bora Bora and other interesting stories. We cannot recommend more this place!
Everything was excellent

This place is just magic! Nir and his wife are wonderful hosts. The place that Nir envisioned and created up the hill on Bora Bora is the most relaxing and special place I have ever been in my life. The apartment has everything you will need for your stay. You just need to come here, enjoy the jungle around your room and relax by seeing the most beautiful sunsets of your life. Thanks for everything, Nir! Giorgia and Alessandro

Nir was the absolute best host and the property was meticulously clean. He did a great job organizing transportation for us to local restaurants and scheduled tours for us. The property is relaxing and just a short bike ride away. We loved our out door kitchen and shower. we’ve stayed at 5 star resorts and the personal service and property was above anywhere we have stayed.
i can’t think of one thing!

tucked into the hillside blending into the foliage the property is simply amazing to walk through. so many different types of plants, trees, sculptures and planted/placed so intentionally. a clear view of the mountain at all times, Nir ensured the room has the highest quality of everything. absolutely. breath taking, clean and just unique. my wife and I loved the completely private beautiful outdoor bathroom. Nir is one of a kind hosts with unbelievable response and dedication to his clients (more like family) having the most comfortable stay.

We rearranged our travel to stay here because of the limited availability. The place is amazing, surrounded by hand crafted sculptures (some done by the host, Nir), the room has a balcony with an amazing view of the bay, and the room itself has been decorated carefully with antiques and artwork. There’s a food truck at the end of the driveway where we spent our nights, and Nir was happy to take us wherever we needed. He also arranged a snorkel trip for us with one of the local tours that picked us up and dropped us off from the property.
Would suggest hiring a car or scooter if you want to travel in to town regularly as it is a little far to walk, otherwise there are also bikes on the property you can borrow but it can be a bit hard getting them up the driveway.

This place was so secluded, intimate, and unbelievably beautiful. Absolutely loved our time here and if we ever come back to Bora Bora we will definitely be staying here again.
Everything was perfect. The property on a steep hill, but it wasn’t a problem, the restaurants and tours will pick you up and drop you off.

Loved the view, privacy, furnishings, and host Nir was so very accommodating.
The bed was large and sheets were very nice but mattress could have been softer but that’s just my taste.

The bungalows are individually curated gems. They are filled with 5 star touches throughout. The view is absolutely stunning sunsets and mountain views and is a little mountainside oasis. It felt like we were staying in a rainforest treehouse but with every modern amenity one could desire. Lastly and definitely not least is the host, Nir. He created a personal touch and bent over backwards to make our stay the best in all of our travels throughout French Polynesia. It was like staying with a friend that wanted to make sure you had the best time in his own home!

Nir came to pick us up, took care of us from start to end, he is infinitely kind and human!
He has a special and spectacular place! Nir is an outstanding artist! he combined nature and historical in the same combination. Our room was Art Deco with well-crafted wood, tastefully decorated meticulously! The bathroom is outside and outstanding!! Well done and great job Nir!!!
If you like peace, nature, hearing birds singing and cutting yourself off from the world, come here! There are also 2 dogs that welcome and guard you!
Nothing to say!

Nir has built a gorgeous sanctuary in Bora Bora that has a spectacular view of the lagoon and the tropical vegetation that makes up the island. He and his wife Tiare were welcoming and extremely helpful with any requests we had. They also gave great tips on what to do and where to eat. We definitely look forward to returning one day!

Everything. Rohotu Fare is the most unique lodging I have never been. It reminds me of Angkor Wat in Cambodia. It is extraordinarily beautiful and mysterious. To me itself is an amazing sightseeing and I spent a lot of time in the garden. Everything inside the room is in high quality, and I feel the pillows and bed are more comfortable than some five-star hotels. Moreover, there are many valuable art pieces and antiques there. The host is very friendly and helpful. He is legendary person and I learned a lot from him, especially the Marquesas culture. The stay is an unforgettable life experience.

This property is exceptionally beautiful. It is an oasis carved out of the jungle. The room is made of beautiful woods with Tahitian carvings around the room, and the balcony looks out over the treetops to Bora Bora and the water. The outdoor bathroom is a sanctuary. Each element of the property reflects the owner’s attention to detail, from the boulders along the path to the room to the signs identifying some of the plants. Truly a beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy Bora Bora. The owner is on site and friendly and helpful.

Rohotu Fare is a very special place that the memories of being there and feeling as being a part of the natural environment will last a lifetime. The view of the mountain and bay below you just can't get enough of. The pathway to the villa is like walking in a botanical garden with many interesting statues along the way. The villa is immaculately clean and has everything you need and the outdoor private bathroom and shower is an experience you will not forget. The owner is the nicest man you will ever meet and will do everything he can to make your stay there unforgettable. It was a pleasure meeting him and listening to his stories about how Rohotu Fare came to be what it is now. Experience the true Bora Bora and be a part of nature at this special place. You will not regret it.
Nothing we didn't like about Rohotu Fare.
