Nice house for a family. Nice and quiet neighborhood with easy access to the southern sites. We got very fortunate to see the northern lights from the property. Kim Yong wings is a great local place for dinner and drinks. The fourth bedroom is in the garage and may be tough for young kids.

We absolutely loved our stay, the house is even nicer in person than the pictures portray! There were so many nice amenities and the house was pristinely clean. All the rooms were very comfortable and we all slept well, the neighbor was nice and safe with nicely manicures and walking paths all over to stroll around the bay. We even got to enjoy seeing some wildlife including shore birds and a seal while drinking our morning coffee!

We stayed at this wonderful house for days. Four of us had choices of beds and the rooms and beds are perfect.Visited many places during our stay and it was a pleasure to come back to the house and sit in the spa or go for a walk in the neighborhood. Saw Northern lights a few nights. All in all we recommend this house if you want a pleasant and luxury stay. Thank you for renting to us.

Our family of eight stayed at this property for ten days in August of 2023. It was well stocked and in a beautiful location right on the ocean shore in a small town located close to Keflavik and Reykjavik. The house was large enough to handle all eight of us comfortably. The host was easy to communicate with and solved one minor problem quickly. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting a very nice house in a quiet location, but still very near to many sites and activities.

Property location was great, 15 minutes from airport and grocery, 30 minutes from downtown. Easy to get around on main roads. Location on water with nice walking path. Lots of dishes, towels, cleaning supplies, bathroom items, and hangers. Maintenance of property was needed on inside and outside. Several lights were out in main bath. Oven needed to be cleaned. No extra pillows in bedrooms. No TV instructions. Coffee maker was difficult to use. Landscape needed some attention and cleanup. Windows were dirty, so we cleaned them to get a better view. Hot tub was nice, but no jets or instructions. We would have appreciated a few recommendations on restaurants from host. Enjoyed our stay in Iceland with friends.

Lovely well appointed, spacious home with incredible view and easy access to Iceland’s many wonderful activities (as long as you have a vehicle).

Johanna was excellent in her communication and everything was very clear from start to finish. As for the house all I can say is WOW!! This is a very high level house in an excellent location. The proximity to the airport (15 minutes ) was a huge plus. Everything about the house was beyond our expectations. The kitchen is well equipped and the living space was so functional for relaxing. We were three adult couples and there was plenty of space to enjoy our entire stay. We traveled several hundred kilometers to see all the sights we wanted to see but the house was convenient to get out and explore. You might think that you would want a place a little more centrally located but at the end of a great trip you’ll be glad you’re so close to the airport. I would highly recommend Johanna’s house for your trip to Iceland.

Overall we had a great trip. The kitchen was well stocked. Laundry was super convenient. View was great. Wi-Fi was not good. 4th bedroom was in the garage and hot. Took a little long for host to respond to question after arrival.

What a wonderful surprise to find such an amazing home near Keflavik airport. We stayed four nights enjoying the views and peaceful surroundings. A paved walking path and hot tub allowed us to still explore outdoors even when cold and rainy. The lovely home decorations and comforts allow four adults to have their own space reading, playing cards or watching the fireplace glow. Beds were comfortable and plenty of towels and kitchen accessories. This is styled like a home from a designer magazine. Best whole bean coffee maker for instant fresh coffee. Thank you!

Can’t beat the location for being close to the airport. Easy place to do day trips from.

I'd like to fist say, the pictures of this property do not do it justice. The house was beautiful and amazing. Comfortably fit 6 adults and a baby, the kitchen and dining room was plenty of space and the back deck and hot tub were perfect. The house was beautiful, we enjoyed using the fireplace every single night and we were incredibly lucky in seeing the northern lights right from the back door. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who wants to explore Iceland, as it was a nice easy drive to all the typical sights right from the town of Vogar. About 20 minutes to Reykjavik, 10 minutes to the closest grocery store, and 20 minutes from the airport. Having such a beautiful house for the week really made our vacation that much better.

Just stepping through the door and you felt right at home! The location was amazing, even saw the Northern Lights from the Neighborhood. Plenty of room for our party of 6. The host was great at getting back to us with answers to any questions we had. We definitely feel like this property was a great find! We’ll be back someday ❣️

This home is perfect, just as described and very clean. If your looking for the Northern Lights, you don’t have to go far, just a few steps out the back door. The host communicates very well and very accommodating.

This house was beautiful, very clean and well stocked. We saw the northern lights right from the yard. The cleaning lady was kind enough to let us come in and sleep while she finished up the kitchen after a long flight. That was a life saver. I would stay there again and highly recommend it.

Exactly what we were looking for as a family. The house was a perfect base camp for our day trips. Great to come in the evening and relax in the hot tub. The home was immaculate and the hosts were very accommodating to our requests.

Overall this house was great, very clean and can’t beat the views. Only complaint was the sound insulation in the master bedroom. From howling winds, water pressure noise when someone takes an early shower to gease quacking outside the window, you hear it all. Small things compared to a really great place for a vacation. Thank you Johanna and Oly for having us.

We just spent a glorious week at Johanna’s property in Vogar and I wish we could have stayed for a lot longer! This house had everything you’d need and then some. The location is perfect for touring the southern side of Iceland. The park and beach were a delight for our 9 year old son. The beds were comfortable, the view is amazing and the hot tub was nice after a long day of hiking. I particularly loved the walking trails in the town and I was able to go for great runs. We hope to return soon and a huge thank you to Johanna and everyone involved with this property to make our stay so grand!

This was such a wonderful place to stay for the week while exploring Iceland. It comfortably fit all 7 of us, was easily wheelchair accessible and was in a perfect location for visiting the major sites around Reykevik. The view outside the window was gorgeous with a nice waterside view on rainbows, and the hot tub was warm and relaxing. There were blackout curtains that made sleeping easy after a full day of hiking even with the lonnet daylight hours. This was very a luxurious and relaxing place

Wow, where to begin. This was a dream rental. So many of the "little things" were why we loved this house. Here is a list! Location. Super close to airport, Reykjavik, and easy driving days to the "big stuff" like Gulfoss, Vik. Blue Lagoon 10 minutes away if you're planning to go. We specifically chose this location for quiet and the ocean view, which did not disappoint. However, if you are looking for nightlife, shopping etc. it is not here. We just loved the home base and just ran 10 minutes near Njardvik to get groceries/gas. The kids had fun at the local rec center/pool and soccer field close to the house. Rooms: 4 very nicely set up rooms with beds sleeping 9. We actually used the comfy couch too. The master bedroom opens to the deck and loved FLUFFY white duvets and crisp white sheets on the beds! (I'm a sucker for good linens!) Lots of storage space in closets/dressers too. Bathrooms were gorgeous with marble floors and walk-in showers with great shower pressure! Main bathroom opened onto the deck as well which was awesome for when we used the hot tub. Clean fluffy bathrobes were provided and appreciated! Oh, and tons of white fluffy towels! For 9 people, there were plenty of towels! Living room, dining room were just beautiful. Comfortable & stylish furniture. We even put on a fire one night with the firelogs provided. (Again, such a nice homey perk!) Did all our "next day planning" in the evenings, enjoying the view and the living space. Kitchen was awesome - spices/oils/plastic wrap etc. were so appreciated. Dishes were lovely. Had all the things we needed such as frying pans, baking dishes. To be honest, we had a bit of trouble figuring out the oven and stovetop- just the controls. We should have asked earlier in our stay but we muddled through ha ha. Loved having a BBQ on the deck. Dishwasher was WELL used and the fresh coffee beans/coffee maker was very appreciated by our coffee drinkers! And, not least, we loved having a really nice laundry/utility room! Easy to use laundry, again, with detergent provided. Lots of racks to hang wet jackets. We really felt like this was our home in Iceland. Coming home each night to lots of space, home-cooked meals, quiet places to sleep was a huge part of our wonderful time in Iceland. Would definitely recommend for a large family or families travelling together!

This property was exactly as described and the host was fantastic with quickly answering all of my questions. I loved the location being outside of Reykjavik, yet close enough to get there when needed, and there are beautiful views. There’s a gas station and grocery store nearby which was very convenient. Highly recommend booking this property!

This property is truly exceptional--I'm not sure where to begin! The hot tub is always ready, the kitchen is well stocked (even with some gadgets my husband and mother now want for Christmas!), there are logs for the gorgeous fireplace, and the view of the ocean across the whole back of the house is stunning. There is a path for walking or running along the coast (and beyond) just outside, which I particularly enjoyed. This home is truly more luxurious than it seems in the pictures. Best of all, Jóhanna is an angel. She cheerfully and promptly helped us with some problems of our own making, really going above and beyond to take care of us! If you want a real getaway to retreat to each day after your adventures, this is the haven for you. We will never forget our magical time here!

The lovely home is nestled in a quiet little village by the bay about 30 minutes from Reykjavík. There are some nice walking paths right by the water and the town was really nice and only minutes from the highway. Very clean, nice layout, I'm so glad we found this place.

What a wonderful home for our Iceland vacation. The home is well appointed, comfortable and a lovely location to relax after exploring the beautiful sights of Iceland. Its' close proximity to the Golden Circle activities and sights was a bonus. It is a little bit of a drive to Reykjavik so if your plan is to spend a lot of time exploring city life, be prepared for a drive to and from. The home owner was exceptionally accommodating and responsive. The village of Vogar was a bonus! There is a wonderful geo-thermal community pool and fitness center as well as many kilometers of walking paths. You will not regret your decision to stay in this wonderful home.

My husband and I planned our trip to celebrate our 40th birthdays, joined by my sister and brother-in-law. Plenty of room for 4 adults and could have comfortably fit a few more! It was wonderful to have a beautiful home base to cook a few meals, lounge in the hot tub and enjoy the heated floors welcoming us back after adventuring out in the weather. During our stay there was a pretty big storm and we got a message from the host warning us to prepare to stay in and stay safe. This was very kind and helpful and we had a great place to hunker down! Close and convenient to the city and Blue Lagoon. Host provided a helpful manual that included much appreciated info, including pictures of common foods to identify at the grocery store :)
