Great little apartment close to the beach. Immaculately clean!!! Private patio had different furniture than what was pictured- not very comfortable for relaxing- would have been nice to have comfy chairs to enjoy the beautiful weather. Great location! Would stay there again.

Clean and mostly as advertised ...a little further form the beach and access as stated , and I originally saw the listing at Travelocity , or one of the sites and it would not allow me to book through that site , Mimi redirected to Vrbo and it worked out fine , she is lovely and available . A good value

This is a lovely one bedroom apartment with comfy furnishings including a king size bed in one of Del Mar’s traditional seaside homes. The location is fabulous and Mimi is a gracious and friendly host. Only caution is that the apartment is accessed down a flight of step stairs. We’re definitely going back next year!

Basement unit in back with steep narrow stairs. Host was very accomodating, but this unit was not well designed for warmth. Heat was end of a furnance run controlled from upstairs and apparently couldn't be set up enough any more. Supplemental electric heater repleatedly blew out circuit. Needs privacy curtains. Nice bedroom and bath.

Mimi’s apartment was a perfect stay as we transitioned my daughter to university life. She is a gracious and supportive host. The location is ideal and the apartment provided lots of space to organize my daughter’s stuff for the move over to UCSD. Thanks Mimi for a great experience.

We had a great stay. The location is perfect. Easy to walk to the beach, restaurants, coffee shops, pastry shop, ice cream, etc. It was on the smaller size, good for two people for a short trip, but comfortable and clean. Was also confusing where to go when we first checked in. But other than that it was a great stay and the perfect location for a getaway.

This is the perfect location for anything you may want to do in the Del Mar area. Wonderful restaurants and coffee shops are just a walk away. As are any kind of beach activity you may enjoy. The fair grounds is just a short drive. Enjoy!

From start to finish a very nice experience . Clean , charming and well equipped for a perfect stay. Very cozy and comfortable, very private complete with access to washer and dryer. I would stay again and recommend it to anyone.

Started our search many months ago but quickly landed on Mimi’s comfortable beach house. We have stayed in the same area in prior years so knew we loved the neighborhood. The space is charming and having a kitchen and living room to spread out in was so nice. Whenever we had questions or needed something, Mimi responded quickly and provided what we needed. We look forward to returning in future years.

My dad stayed here while visiting me and it was perfect! The location is half a block to the cliffs over looking the ocean and close to cafes, shops etc. Unfortunately it was a very cold week while he was here but we still made use of the patio which was very cute and surrounded by plants! The apartment was clean and had everything we needed.

The view of the beach from the cliffs is spectacular and it is about a sixty second walk from the apartment to the cliffs. Vons grocery store is nearby, so if you want to save money on food it’s possible to prepare simple meals in the apartment. We would definitely consider returning here on our next trip to San Diego.

Delmar is one of my favorite places in California. And Mimi’s place was the ideal spot. So close to the ocean! Clean comfortable, well equipped. Mimi is an excellent host. I’ll be returning to this spot for sure!

Cute and Perfect!
We came into Del Mar to visit a friend and Mimi’s listing was perfect for what we needed! We didn’t need too much space as this was one of our first times in the area and wanted to be out exploring as much as possible. We also bumped into Mimi as we were coming and going and she was lovely! Many accommodations as far as parking, beach equipment, etc which is such a nice touch to offer out of town guests. Would definitely recommend and would look for availability here again on our next trip!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this place and Mimi! I have rented many places through VRBO, and this has been my favorite. It was super clean, the location is amazing, and it is exactly as advertised. Mimi was incredibly responsive to messages and the minor instructions were very clear (no 15 page “instructions binder” for this place!). I hope to be able to come back!!!

Our magical hideaway
We loved our 2 1/2 weeks in Del Mar, right near the ocean! Yes, it's a basement apartment, but very sweet, clean, comfortable, and affordable. We could walk three lots down to the cliffs, sit on the sea wall and drink our tea and coffee every morning.

7th Street Del Mar Peaceful Retreat
We enjoyed staying at Casita Mimi for 6 nights recently. Quite familiar with the charms of Del Mar, particularly its beach, we were glad to find this cozy apartment for our resting place.
High Pounts:
Privacy & quiet.
Comfortable king-size bed with FIRM mattress and FINE bedding
Wonderful LARGE walk-in shower with PLENTY of hot water.
Proximity to multiple excellent restaurants.
Downsides:
Not really any that mattered to us, but be advised that the apartment is in a well-lit basement and access is by way of a steep flight of 14 or so stairs. Those with physical limitations may need to look elsewhere.
While the kitchen was really quite adequate for us because we ate our main meal of the day out, anyone wanting to do serious meal preparation will want a different space with more up to date equipment.
Total impression: We'd do it again. Mimi is a great, enthusiastic host who is there when you need her and invisible when you don't.

Best Beachy Stay
The property is located within walking distance of quaint downtown Del Mar. The beach is at the end of the street so you can hear the ocean from the private lush patio. The decor inside is beachy and calming. We truly felt we were in our own little private paradise! But best of all was Mimi. She is an incredible hostess and went the extra mile to make our stay memorable. We will be back for sure!

Location is great
The location is perfect!! It's less than 1 block to the ocean bluffs. These cliffs have had a fair bit of landslides below so I'm not sure where the actual beach access would be for you though. I was there for business so I wasn't looking. The sunsets at the end of the culdesac were wonderful though. You can walk to little restaurants and shops etc with ease.
The unit itself was very small, but charming. It was clean and tidy and as described. The bed was very firm and is in need of a mattress update. I asked if she had a mattress topper and she didn't. A $100-200 fix would have made a big difference in my stay (or yours.) Amazon could have delivered one the next day....I ended up leaving the next day (3 nights ahead of schedule) The stairs leading down to the unit can not be up to code. They are SO steep and SO narrow that you almost have to walk down them sideways in order to have adequate footing. The neighborhood itself is very quiet and dark. Sorta freaked me out when I went to take my dog out at 1030pm and I noticed a guy in a dark SUV was parked right behind my car with his lights out. He was still there 15 min later when I returned too. A bit sketch, in this dark neighborhood, and I was down this dark narrow walkway to the side of her home, then down these stairs where the front door is a thin glass door that you can't tell if it's locked or not etc....The place was very affordable and I'd say that it would be perfect ONLY for a young couple who were budget minded and weren't going to be staying in much. Otherwise, it's tiny and the bed truly isn't great at all. I appreciated that she had a king bed (many air b and b's don't). But a mattress update is warranted, or if not, then a nice topper. PS> I did look up the home online and for some reason it shows that's it's been in escrow for over 1 year now...so inquire about that if you're going to book so do don't end up without a place if you're booking further out. Just a suggestion.
