The Douglas Family Cottage - Perfect Waterfront Getaway with Large Beach
ÉCHAPPEMENT HOME LAKEFRONT! CHERCHEZ PAS PLUS LOIN! Ce chalet au bord du lac a plus de 1600 pieds carrés pour vous et votre famille pour profiter, avec l'air central, deux grands ponts et un barbecue! Un lever de soleil exceptionnel! Il suffit de marcher sur nos marches avant sur une grande cour parfaite pour les jeux de plein air, un hamac ou des tentes, puis sur la plage pour la natation, la chasse aux verres ou les pirates. Faites de la charte ou apportez votre bateau ou votre jet ski et utilisez le lancement situé à moins d'un mille de distance. Vous pouvez également marcher sur le rivage ou faire une courte promenade jusqu'au quai. Cette belle propriété au bord du lac est située dans une zone de nombreuses attractions, le parc national Point Pelee, les foires locales, la cueillette de fruits, les antiquités, les vignobles, les go-cart, le golf (et le mini-golf). Les observateurs d'oiseaux se régalent! Beaucoup d'oiseaux et de canards, région célèbre pour la migration des oiseaux et des papillons monarques. Service de ferry de voiture de Leamington et Kingsville à Pelee Island Winery. Ce chalet offre tout pour une excellente escapade, y compris des radeaux, des jeux et un barbecue à gaz sur le pont donnant sur le lac. Ce Cape Cod Cottage dispose d'une grande disposition ouverte sur le plancher principal avec une vue imprenable sur le lac Erie. Honestly this was by far the best cottage vacation we have had. Everything was perfect the space the cleanliness the little extra things like having books and puzzles and games. We had kids staying from all ages and we all had an amazing time. The owners are awesome and friendly I would definitely be coming back and would absolutely recommend it to anyone

We had 11 days of peace and quiet and fun and games and laughs galore. I had different family and friends there at different times and thoroughly enjoyed our times together.

Upon arrival, you could tell this was a much loved family cottage. We enjoy the open concept common area with cooling fans and many windows to view the lake. The beach was wonderful for beachcombing and relaxing. We all had a great time and are booked again for next year.

This place is so tranquil, just what I needed.
A visit to Point Pelee National Park is a must. There is so much to see and do. I am hoping to return for a week next year. Just a beautiful property in an amazing location.

Property was as advertised. Nice large beach as well as grassed area for activities. Although there were lots of beds/areas for sleeping the mattresses all need replacing. Two members of our party left early as they were unable to get a good night's sleep...felt like sleeping on a marshmallow.

The cottage is perfect for our family of 4 adults and 2 young children. We had a wonderful week indoors with family meals, board games, reading, conversation and a thunderstorm party as we watched a storm over the lake. Outdoors - we made sand structures on the beach, skipped stones, collected sea glass, played in big and small waves...and more. A lovely cottage inside and out. Peg and family.

We stay at this awesome place second week of August 2023.One week fly out as one day. Its usually happening when you are happy. We where absolutely satisfied with the cottage, location and hospitality of the owners. Weather was perfect, content of the cottage is A++,panoramic view-OMG! But the best is Sunrise! Guys, don't be lazy. please wake up at 7 am sit on the sandy beach to see this magnificent show! And don't forget its all included in your package!!

Our second stay here and it always goes by so quickly. We love the cottage, drinks on the back porch in the evening…sunrise makes for picture perfect pictures and of course swimming and lounging on the beach enjoyed every moment. Lots of outings to some favourite spots we found last year- Freddy’s is one we always go to for food and of course lots of ice cream! Thank you so much Carl and Bev. We can’t wait for next year!!!

Beautiful spot. Beach was great for all ages. Lots of room for everyone. Open and inviting. Deck was lovely. The fire pit was perfect. There was nothing missing. Town was close for supplies. We all loved it.

We had such a great long weekend staying at this cottage. The property is big has a nice grass area and beautiful beach, it is a perfect getaway. The place is cozy and clean and has everything you need. Would definitely stay again with our kids and family.

This is our second time at this cottage. If anyone wants to feel like homie and also get in soaked with the Mother Nature then this place is for you. Spotless, as always…well stocked inventories ….we wish we could stay there longer… overall it’s a pet friendly property so this place is quiet inclusive. Only this year internet was lil bit slow but after resetting the modem it was ok. We have only good things to talk about this property. Thank you to the owners for allowing us to create a beautiful memories at your property. Will visit there soon, not sure if it’s open in the Winter but this year we would love to experience our winter there if it opens around that time . Thank you to the owners again 🙂

The cottage has everything you need. It is clean and right on the beach. Great location. Carl is very easy to get a hold of if you need anything. I would recommend this property to all my friends and family.

Seven family members enjoyed the house, view and bonfire area. Comfortable for all of us. Visited nearby Point Pelee National Park. Trips to nearby Leamington provided nice dinning options, groceries and more. Thanks Carl and Beverly!

Beautiful water view, close to Point Pelee park.
However there were holes in the 2nd floor ceiling, signs of water damage when we were there.
We found bed bugs on the day bed.

We rented the cottage in October and it was a great experience. We had beautiful weather and were able to relax on the beach and the back deck. As it was off season, it was very quiet and we had the Sandy beach to ourselves. The cottage offered all the necessities available, kitchen is well stocked and the bed was comfortable. Would go back in a heartbeat.

Adorable cottage with everything you could need. Large yard to play games in or have a fire and s’mores at night.
Fantastic views of the lake, the beach just steps away. Unfortunately the water was very cold this week, this is not normal for Lake Erie.
Did have trouble accessing the cottage after shopping one day, but owner quickly resolved our issue.
Overall, a lovely cottage experience!

Absolutely perfect!
From the moment we walked in we were amazed by how perfect this cottage is! Lots of space for the four of us, loved seeing all the family pictures and memorabilia throughout the cottage it gave it such a homey feel. The deck leading to the beach made for many many many hours of swimming, castle building, beach glass hunting, family pictures and having drinks! Bonfires of the beach were a new favourite! Had many day trips to pelee national park,Freddy’s restaurant for lunch and ice cream were incredible. A family run business and all around so friendly! Taylor’s fish and chips made for a yummy afternoon lunch the fish couldn’t be fresher! Evenings were spent on the deck on the beach with a glass of wine or playing board games and morning sunrises we’re breathtaking! Carl and Beverly have definitely made this cottage a home away from home! We booked for next year before even leaving because my kids insisted this be our new family tradition! Thank you for a wonderful week!!

A Delightful Week
We have rented different cottages and this one is my family's favourite.The beach is definitely a highlight. The water, the waves, the sand all provided hours of fun. Cooking around the fire was another highlight. Communication with the owners was excellent.

Wonderful Wheatley Cottage Stay
The property was great. It had everything you needed except a dishwasher. Plenty of games, seating in and out. Had some recent renovations in the bathrooms and kitchen. The beds were very comfortable. The beach and firepit area were wonderful. We totally enjoyed our stay.

Owners left many possessions in drawers and closets which made it difficult to find places to put our stuff. Felt the cottage was also a little cluttered. Linens and towels were worn and dated.
