Our family took advantage of every lovely amenity and nuance of this wonderful cottage. We had puzzle night in front of the peat burning stove, we watched a fox family in the hedges and took the quick trip to the near by golden beach at low tide and investigated sea life. The cottage's kitchen is spacious and well stocked. The rooms are big & well appointed. We had a wonderful time.

We stayed for a week in July 2023 and used this cottage as a home base to explore part of Ireland’s west coast. My 12 year old daughter and 6 year old some both loved that they got their own rooms here, there is a huge bathtub, loads of games to play as a family, and so much space to spread out. The kitchen is clean and well stocked. This place has a washer and a dryer! Your closest beach, Fanore beach, is a great one. There are loads of other beaches to explore in neighboring towns. If you like to hike, this cottage is nestled in the Burren and super close to great hikes. We enjoyed the pub in Fanore, great fresh seafood. It’s not too big a trip into Galway only about an hour. And in the other direction staying here makes seeing the Cliffs of Moher and taking a boat to the Aran Islands very close too. We would stay here again. The hosts are responsive and have a lovely space to share for vacation.

This cottage is perfect. The rooms are spacious. The light is incredible. We were close to lots of really cool things by car. We were also close to more beauty than I’ve ever seen on foot. The area is very rural so make plans ahead for groceries and food. We were able to get enough signal from wifi to check emails and use google/limited social apps. Come prepared to entertain yourself, but there are plenty of books and games to help get you started. The hosts were wonderful and we enjoyed their fresh eggs with Irish butter and toast every morning. We had a visit from a neighboring cow who took a wrong turn and snacked her way back to her friends. This was the perfect spot for us.

The cottage is exactly as the pictures show. It is charming, warm and cozy. The peat fire was the perfect touch.
The kitchen had everything needed to make wonderful meals.
As stated the WIFI is spotty and there is no cell service at the cottage. We planned for this so it was fine.
We would love to return for a longer stay.

Nice home
Very comfortable, spacious home. Pretty location. Kitchen had everything we needed. Keep in mind this is a remote location so WIFI is not reliable. We were out a lot and didn’t use it much, but you you should also be aware that WIFI usage is limited so ask the owner about that in case it may be a concern for your stay.

We stayed three weeks with our 3 children (3, 5 & 7 years). The house is spatious, the location remote and quiet, the surroundings most interesting. We had some rainy days but enjoyed the beach anyways and were happy about the cosy fireplace. We can recommand excursions to the Burren Sanctuary an Moher Hill Farm. We had a wonderful time and would recommand the place without hesitation.

We (family of six) loved the cottage and location. The cottage is very spacious and is well equipped and very nicely decorated. We were also very grateful for the excellent welcome pack - thank you very much - and also for the various essential items that were provided. This was a really nice touch and meant that we weren't under pressure to rush to the shops on arrival. The cottage is a 35 minute walk (approx.) from Fanore Beach, which is one of the nicest beaches in Co. Clare and much less crowded than beaches at locations such as Lahinch.
A car is essential as the shop/pub is in Fanore Village, which is a 50 minute walk. There is lots to see and do in the area and we did lots of walking, including the Caher Loop Walk, which goes past the house. You can walk from the house to the top of the mountain in about 75 minutes and the views from the top are stunning - including the Burren and Aran Islands.
We visited two of the Aran Islands - took the ferry from Doolin. Also, we took a boat tour of the Cliffs of Moher - again from Doolin. Well worth doing.
We were very lucky with the weather as there was a heatwave for most of our stay. One comment is that the patio is west facing and from noon onwards gets direct sunlight. There was no umbrella or shade of any sort, which made sitting out in the patio in the afternoon/evening or dining outdoors impossible in the heat (27/28 degrees). In a typical Fanore summer, this wouldn't be much of an issue, but in the heatwave, the lack of shade meant that we could not make full use of the patio. Also we felt that some deckchairs or other comfortable outdoor seating/furniture would have been preferable to the limestone stools, which weren't very comfortable or conducive to relaxing or dining outdoors.
Overall, we would highly recommend this cottage and would definitely return.

Fermoyle Cottage August 2020
The cottage is situated in the Burren Co. Clare and is surrounded by a captivating landscape.
Fanore beech is about a mile away. You can drive there - we opted to walk down the scenic country road alongside the Caher river.
There is plenty to do in the area and the cottage is only a short drive to local points of interest, pubs restaurants, shops, etc.
The cottage itself and the facilities at the cottage exceeded our expectations.
Our hosts had left us a welcome pack of the all the essentials so we didn't have to worry about rushing off to do some shopping when we arrived.
We've recommended the cottage to friends and family.

Perfect cottage, perfect location!
Our family had a wonderful two week stay in this lovely spacious cottage, right in the centre of the stunning Burren landscape. A great place to stay to explore the locality and the cottage was extremely well appointed with everything we could need. We would definitely come back!

Fantastic Fanore
We had a brilliant time. The kids loved everything about the place and so did we!

The house was in a perfect location for the beautiful beach at Fanore and for exploring more widely in Clare. It was very clean and well equipped and we enjoyed the welcome pack. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. We missed a washing line as we were fortunate to have good weather, but there was plenty of space to dry clothes in the hot press. The satellite TV reception was not working while we were there. We contacted the owner who replied promptly and was helpful, although it couldn't be resolved due to the mountain location. Our only small gripe was that the grass around the house had been allowed to grow far too long which was not ideal for the children's ball games. All in all a fabulous holiday rental.

Lovely!
The cottage is situated happily in the middle of nowhere, with pretty views to The Burren. It is extremely well-appointed, the only thing missing is mobile reception, but that is not the owners' fault, nor is it necessarily a bad thing. When we had a slight problem, the owners were quick to fix it. Thank you very much!

A Real Ireland Cottage
We stayed st the cottage from July 20-27 ....
It was absolutely the best loved where it was a little ways away but nice and quite after our busy day ..
Our only visitor were the cows behind the cottage.....
One suggestion would be a fan ....
But over all I would definitely stay there again ...

Quiet and charming
Our second stay here was as good as the first. It’s an excellent property to just stay there and enjoy the area, or as a base to launch and explore Co Clare and Galway. The owners are responsive and committed to a good experience.

Fanore Easter 2019
Beautiful well appointed bright and light and warm house in an idyllic location. Thanks Rita for all your assistance.

Wonderful house, fabulous views! Soak it in!
This is a great property and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The views are amazing and you feel nicely secluded and away from it all! The house is comfortable and beautiful.
I do think it's important to note there is no cell service at the cottage (mine didn't work anyway). That was not a problem for us, but I know that could be for some people.
Brendan and Rita were kind enough to let us check in early which was incredibly helpful after a transatlantic flight. It's a great location to explore the Burren and all of County Clare.
We will go back if we have the opportunity!

Warm and inviting home base for exploring the Burren
We so enjoyed our stay in this lovely and comfortable cottage in Fanore! It was a perfect base for exploring the Burren- an easy drive with spectacular views to Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher, or head the other direction to Galway. Definitely take O’Brien’s ferry over to Inisheer for a day. We enjoyed finding our way around, then coming “home” to this beautiful cottage. Gorgeous views from every window, peaceful and quiet. A family of rabbits came by for a visit most evenings.
The cottage is a mile or so inland from the coast road, and the drive runs along a crystal clear small river, through the valley. The only traffic we saw were the cows going out to pasture one morning.
Fanore has a beautiful beach with a surf shop, and if you’re feeling that adventurous there are wetsuits at the cottage. At the least, catch a sunset at the beach. There is a small shop with just about everything you might need, Rita and Brendan also leave a nice welcoming package- and a kitchen we were able to easily cook meals in. The pub in town- O’Donaghue’s- seems very popular with locals. Live trad music on weekends, and good food. Sunset over the ocean was our view on our last night. Sublime.
I’ve had the luck of being able to go to Ireland fairly often. This trip I brought my teenage son and his friend, and my best friend. They all LOVED it! There was plenty of room, comfortable beds, WiFi (a must for teenagers) , tv and a stove if you’d like an evening fire.
I would totally recommend Rita and Brendan’s Fanore cottage. I’m sure we will be back!

A very pleasant experience
We spent a week exploring the Burren and Aran Islands with our great nephew (age 13) and great niece (age 11) using Rita and Brendan's cottage as our base. It was great to come back each day and chill out in a well appointed and comfortable cottage, which is located in a quiet and peaceful spot with lovely views.

Great place to stay on the Wild Atlantic Way
My family and I just returned from our wonderful vacation in Ireland. We (two adults and 3 children ages 15, 13, 10) had a great time at this cottage. The property is beautiful and the home is spacious and has all the basic necessities. The Burren is gorgeous with many walking trails, scenic drives and attractions nearby. We visited the Cliffs of Moher, Inishere island on hoarse and trap which the kids loved, the Doolin cave. We also went to the beach and even swam! The villages around the area are adorable.

Our Fanore visit.
A grand place, that is beautiful and serene. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. It is off the beaten path, just a bit, and has a remarkable "driveway"!
The views are amazing and proximity to the Burren and the Ocean? well you are right there.
If the time comes again, we will return!

Magical place in the Burren
To start, the photos for this cottage do not do it justice. This is an absolutely fabulous place to stay - we felt so fortunate to be able to spend time here. The owners are fantastic people. While here we went on many adventures with our 8 and 11 year old sons, including heading to the Ailwee Cave, surfing lessons at Fanore Beach, trips into Doolin and Galway, and fabulous hikes up into the Burren. Also - go to the fishing tackle shop in Fanore. You can rent fishing rods from Mick and fish for Mackerel right off the shore of Black Head at dusk! The kids loved this, we did it a couple of nights.
This is an absolutely magical place and we were so happy to spend time here - very hard to leave!

Great house well equipped and modern
We spent two weeks in Brendan's house with our two daughters and two friends of us. The house is modern, with large rooms and located in a very quiet area. It was perfect. We would recommend it to anyone who want to discover the west coast of Ireland.
