Reviewer Comments: Perfectly situated between Thomas/Davis and Dolly Sods and Elkins, this home provides a quiet, relaxing base for all of your mountain activities. Can't say enough about the furnishings, beds and linens, fireplace, gas stove, washer and dryer, dishwasher, view from the porch and two and 1/2 baths! The kitchen is well provisioned - you should bring your own lotions and shower gel, paper products, cooking oils and seasonings. The golf course at Canaan Valley is challenging but great - walking or with cart! Many excellent restaurants nearby include Sirianni's in Davis for their pizza, The FORK in Elkins, Farm up Table in Thomas and countless others in the local area. If you ski, CR Mountain Home is located right next to Timberline. Donna and her crew at Best of Canaan have brochures to guide you to attractions and will send you 10 pages of things to do in the local area. Highly recommend Mountain Rail WV excursions -- the New Tygart Flyer and Cass Scenic Railroad. SO much to do, SO little time!! Enjoy!

This is our second time renting this property because we love it so much. Had everything we needed to enjoy the outdoor beauty of Canaan Valley. The best part of this property is the view of the valley from the living area and hot tub. We will be back.

Place and everything was great. About the only thing we can say is that it missed some of the homely feel of other places as there was no coffee, a few treats or anything. Those aren’t important though, just some nice touches. The place was great, clean, and quiet! Highly recommended!

Check-in and check was a breeze. 2 minutes to the slopes, 10 minutes to Davis, 10 minutes to Canaan Valley. Very convenient and comfortable. Hot tub was clean and ready when we pulled in. Great place and hope to return.

The house was stocked well and had everything we needed. Located close to both ski mountains. Area was nice and seemed safe.

Centrally located, it offers ready access to Davis, Thomas, the Canaan Resort, Elkins, Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls. The home is wonderfully decorated with comfortable beds and couches, wi-fi and Dish TV. Views from the wrap around porch are spectacular.

We enjoyed our stay very much and found the layout of the home to be very comfortable and the location a great one for taking in area trails for hiking and mt biking. Neighbors are close by, not as easy to see in pictures, but it was fine. We’ve not used VRBO before so were surprised that some things weren’t in the home, like hotel sized shampoos, coffee, plastic wrap or foil in the kitchen. It didn’t matter at all, we were prepared and there’s a small store nearby, but if you’re going you might want to know that. We loved the house and exploring the area and would definitely stay again.

We enjoyed the layout, the amenities, the location and especially the hot tub of this property. It’s proximity to hiking at Canaan in the snow, walking distance to Timberline and a short drive to Davis for dining and the sled run at Blackwater Falls State Park made this the perfect vacation spot for our family. We have come to the area multiple times and this property made us feel spoiled with all it had to offer. Hope to be back again.

The ladies in the office were very helpful and sent someone to plow the driveway and then put down some gravel so we could get out. The house was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare all of our meals. Although the refrigerator was too cold and a couple of our items started to freeze! The hot tub was such a nice treat after skiing each day.

We had an amazing time at your house, very well stocked, and in a great location for skiing at both Mountains. The kids loved the hot tub which was needed after our long days of skiing.

My husband and I, with our adult son, had a wonderful escape to Canann Valley and staying at C R Mountain Home! We enjoyed the hot tub every evening, cooked our own fun meals, relaxed around the fireplace, took long walks, and even went on a horseback ride!! We cannot recommend this home and the Best of Canann Resort facilities any higher. The place was beautiful and when we needed anything they were there on the double, even on a holiday week.

We found the property to be very clean and well equipped. The open floor plan provided a nice area for us to gather. It was easy to baby proof for our 1 year old. The fire place was kept us cozy at night. The property is well kept and a pleasant home in which to spend a week. The location provides easy access to hiking and other activities in the area. We would stay here again.

The house is equipped with everything you need to cook, bake and relax. This house was perfectly cleaned and as safe as can be!! There's a new grill and a hot tub if you want to relax. For us, renting a lovely place is a safe way to get away! We took our own pre-cooked meals; hiked and walked at Dolly Sods, Seneca Rocks and Blackwater Falls; and shopped at the Buxton and Landstreet Gallery in Thomas and at Artists at Work in Elkins. The house is perfectly located between all of the Canaan Valley sites! The folks at Best of Canaan are SO easy to work with - I've rented from them for years.
