I have been to Maine many, many times over the past 3+ decades, but I have never seen a location as beautiful as this property. The guest house I stayed in is a 3-bedroom yet is very cozy. It was clean and comfortable, and nothing was forgotten – games, movies, kitchen gear (including a huge pot for cooking lobster!). The locale…amazing, gorgeous, peaceful, did I mention gorgeous? I saw no shops, tourists - even paved roads! Just nature in her splendor. Deer, turkeys, osprey, and owls. I could go on and on (and on). I asked to purchase the property, to no avail. Kristin is an excellent host – from the welcome basket of snacks, wine, and chocolate, to bringing me fresh-baked pumpkin bars before I departed. I think she is underpricing the experience of staying at this place.

The striped bass fishing, crab catching, and kayaking right from the property were absolutely phenomenal! There is a small nature preserve directly across the water that was fun to hike and explore. Beaches were approximately a 40 minute drive. Brunswick was a short drive and offered a convenient shopping and dining area. Having rented numerous coastal homes in the past, this home was the least maintained we've experienced. From the landscaping and out building neglect and the disrepair indoors including the electric in the home, there were many things needing attention. We don't require perfection in a rental property but do expect to feel comfortable when renting a home for a week. That was difficult on this property. Another note is the very close proximity of the owner's home to the rental cottage. They were very friendly and congenial and not intrusive at all but we didn't fully realize the lay out of the estate when booking.

We very much enjoyed the view of the water and shoreline and the birds. The house was comfortable and unpretentious.

We had a lovely three-weeks in this superbly-located cottage between two tidal coves. Although this tranquil setting feels a million miles from civilization, it is a mere 15 minutes from the center of charming Brunswick and ten minutes from Cook’s Corner shopping center as well as an easy forty-minute ride from glorious, sandy Popham Beach. We swam off the dock, kayaked, took morning walks, read under shade trees with a perfect view of the water and wildlife, hiked and ate fresh seafood from Gurney Trading Company which is only a five-minute drive away. Because of the breeze, there were fewer mosquitos than any other place we have stayed in Maine and we were able to eat dinner outdoors almost every night. Our very hospitable and accommodating host responded to anything we asked for immediately. She even let us set up a tent outside for our very active grandkids. The cottage is certainly not fancy and it was a bit small when my daughter’s family arrived and there were six of us. Since it was an old house and a bit oddly arranged, the refrigerator was down a few steps in another room from the kitchen, but if your priorities are location, location, location plus peace and quiet, you will find it here. We hope to return again next year.

We were very happy to have the chance to stay at this cottage. It was very cozy and a classic Maine cottage feel in a remote area yet only a few minutes to town. Such a peaceful setting and a nice property to explore. Loved being by the water and watching the boats, hearing the birds, and watching all the wildlife around us. Kristin was very welcoming and nearby on the property if we needed anything . She checked in with us frequently to make sure we had what we needed to enjoy our stay. We would definitely stay here again!

The property could not have been anymore amazing. The views were breathtaking and the property owners made us feel right at home. Everything that the Maine coast has to offer was right outside our door. Can’t wait to get back.

Positives: • Kristin and Paul were very pleasant and accommodating, yet low profile. They immediately took care of the only issue we had (shower/tub did not drain). • Beautiful, peaceful, secluded location on a point separating 2 inland coves through which 8-9’ tidal waters flow twice daily. This was best viewed from the Adirondack chairs by the cottage, or through the kitchen window. You can’t help becoming in tune with the tides. • Zero road noise. • Lots of local dirt roads for peaceful walks; can do 2+ miles without ever touching pavement. • Great kayaking. Seaspray Kayaks in Brunswick will deliver and pick up right to the cottage. We rented 2 kayaks for 8 days, so had access to them whenever we wanted. Note of caution: you need to pay attention to tides and winds, as the currents can be fierce between high and low tides. However, kayaking during the 1-2 hour slack water at high or low tide is wonderful. • Very little light pollution, so stars are very bright. • Lots of wildlife, deer families, turkeys, ducks, herons, cormorants, seals, swimming squirrels (!). Eagles’ nest at far end of an island you can kayak to at slack water. • Close enough to Brunswick so trips into town and farther afield are easy compared to cottages further down in Harpswell. Convenient to Brunswick Landing (former Naval Air Station), which has a great deli/bakery called Wild Oats where we sometimes picked up prepared foods for dinners, and a lively brew pub next door called Flight Deck Brewing. Negatives: • We agree with a previous reviewer who said that these accommodations were not elegant. Everything worked, but this place needs some owner TLC, with upgrading (e.g., electrical system needs grounded outlets; scary using metal appliances like the microwave and toaster without proper grounding), updating (bathroom fixtures) and some much needed cosmetic work (structural repairs, exterior painting). We take good care of our own home and seeing so many things that should be fixed or improved detracted from our vacation experience. • Limited lighting options in central living room/kitchen/dining room area. Currently only 2 very bright overheads, one pull chain lightbulb over kitchen sink, and one ceiling-pointing floor lamp in a corner. No options for softer lighting in this key area of the cottage. This could easily be fixed with couple desk, counter or floor lamps. • Refrigerator is 3 steps down out of kitchen in another room; convenience issue.

We had a very nice stay. The location is secluded along the water, beautiful views. However it is close to town and routes to Portland, the coast with lots of activities! Host recommended a wonderful restaurant called Dolphin Marina with beautiful views! We had a great stay!

Incredible getaway with incredible views and water access. Beautiful serene place to watch wildlife., soak up the sun and wander through nature on the surrounding trails. We are already planning our trip back in the fall! Kristin was attentive but we felt like we had the place to ourselves.

The views from the property we’re beautiful. Each morning we watched a lobster boat or two come in a check traps and then leave into the horizon. Sunrises were great too. The house was rustic but had the necessities, and the hosts were very responsive, helpful and friendly.

Incredible location. Gorgeous confluence of Rivers. Nice cottage but if you’re looking for luxury not your place. Still, a perfect Maine cottage experience.

I spent a wonderful long weekend here with my family and hope to return next year! The property was spectacular. The pictures do not do the view justice. We saw three bald eagles while kayaking one morning, along with heron, osprey, and a seal. Kristin welcomed us with a lovely gift basket and a bottle of wine. The guest house was cozy - perfect place to relax after a day enjoying the surroundings. Exceptional experience.

My family had a nice stay in this property's guest house. I have stayed in quite a few VRBO rentals and this is the first time I have had the owner meet me at the rental, give us the rules of the property and then walk back to their house a few hundred feet away. We thought it would be awkward at first, but wasn't. There was a bottle of wine on the table for us which was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed watching the eagle fly by and kayaking on the water. Overall it was a nice stay.

We had a comfortable stay at Kristin's waterfront property. We enjoyed watching the boats go by and the lobstermen checking their traps. It is a short drive to Brunswick and all it has to offer (grocery stores, restaurants, Bowdoin college campus) but feels very private. The owners' house is right behind this one so any help needed is nearby. We enjoyed exploring mid-coast - Harpswell and Pemaquid and Five Islands. Freeport is a short drive and Portland about 45 minutes away. The small add-on bedroom did face some challenges with the rain and cold.

We loved our two night stay at this wonderful oasis. The owner was so sweet and easy going. She even left us wine and some snacks, upon arrival. Thank you, thank you! We will be back Alan, missy and crew

We very much enjoyed staying in this cute little cottage on the water in Brunswick, Maine. We were attending our daughter's graduation from Bowdoin over the weekend, and this cottage was the perfect respite from all of the busy commencement activities. We only wish we had had more time to just sit in those adirondack chairs and relax. The location is perfect; only 10 minutes to campus/downtown Brunswick but it feels like miles away. My wife and I spent Labor Day weekend at this house for the Thompson Point Beach Bluegrass Festival. The location is close to that beach, and all the local towns and sites. The setting is absolutely stunning (the pictures don't do it justice) - you can't beat a morning coffee with this view. The house was impeccable, and had everything we needed and then some. Kristin, the owner, truly went above and beyond. We were greeted with a bottle of champagne (we were celebrating our 10th anniversary), chocolates, and chips and salsa. She was extremely responsive throughout - before, during, and after the trip. I say after because we accidentally left behind a couple of items, called her from the airport, and she had them shipped to us immediately. I can't recommend this rental enough. We loved our stay. It’s a classic cottage - cute and clean. But the views are perfect. Location just blows me away and yet it’s only 10 minutes to everything.

This place was such an amazing spot to spend a weekend away. The owners were wonderful and the views and peace of the property were beyond our expectations! We will certainly be back again!

This was a great place to spend a summer week in Maine. The cottage had everything we needed, not to mention a great location, close to Brunswick, Bath, and Portland. Days were spent kayaking from the cottage shoreline, or hiking at nearby nature preserves. Evenings were spent sitting outside and enjoying the views. I wish I had another week to spend here.

This Harpswell, Maine cottage was the perfect location for a mini-reunion of 5 college roommates. Kristen was a most gracious host. She met us with a newly cut arrangement of lupine and a basket of goodies. The weather couldn't have been any better for early June. The cottage is very well stocked with necessities and the three bedrooms were definitely large enough for us all to be quite comfortable. The views from the house and yard were absolutely beautiful. We were able to watch eagles, ducks, egrets, herons, cormorants and many other wildlife from the yard and dock. We had a wonderful time and very much look forward to renting this cottage again!

The photos do not do justice: you really need video clips to see the 180° view of water, to hear the birdsongs, to watch the eagle soaring overhead and the goslings waddling across the lawn. The owners have a beautiful home just behind this cozy cottage, so maybe this is why they keep the cottage so clean and well-equipped; it does not feel anything like a "rental" but rather like a guest house for best friends. Reading the guest journal made me wish that we'd been able to spend time down on the rocks fishing and in the water kayaking, but we came here for our son's graduation from Bowdoin and spent most of our time there. A note to Bowdoin families: we were pleasantly surprised by how easy the drive to town is--just 10 minutes. For anyone who plans to visit Bowdoin (or Brunswick generally) for more than a day, this is a great choice.
