The hot water is not hot when taking a shower at 6:30

We arrived late but it was a really easy process to access the property / room. Really friendly and helpful staff. Good facilities: kitchen/diner, living room with tv, pool room, nice swimming pool out back and drive for cars. Nice location, less than a 10 minute walk to the main Street and even less to the bus stop if travelling by greyhound. I love how important recycling and not being wasteful is at PMB!

I didn't stay.

No parking available. 4 spots. Just park your car on the street and pray. Unbelievable. I don't recommend this place. I made the reservation, and 1 h and a half later, I asked for a refund because I wouldn't leave my car on a busy Avenue. The staff said they wouldn't guarantee nothing would happen.

Simple, affordable, convenient, friendly, clean. Just what I needed. Good nearby Thai restaurant and shops. Close to beach.

cosy vibes and place was clean and very chilled out, I immediately felt welcome and people said hi when I came in too! Tash at reception was super friendly and efficient too, and it’s only a 15 minute walk to the beach and coastal walk and lots of lovely restaurants on the way too. Would defo recommend to anyone travelling alone or with mates :)

showers had hot water, kitchen was always clean tap turned off on their own good to save water. earplugs available at the office really good idea!!!!!

the price of the laundry and dryer the fan in the room is right under the light and fast flickering when the fan is on not good made people dizzy, not good for me i have epilepsy

Staff friendly and did a great job. The place was clean. Facilities were more than adequate.

My room was smaller than others, the windows opened directly onto a main road, and was right next to the Tv and pool room, so my sleep was not the best. Other guests using my room weren't very respectful of the space but that's just luck of the draw.

After hours check in process. There was someone to help us even though we arrived at 1:30am. Close to shops.

The parking out back is very tight so if you come late, you will have to reverse back out. There is some free parking out on the street. There was a main road next to our room so had trouble sleeping with the noise

At this point, it’s nothing about the property, but the vibe within this hostel. Ben the owner has such an overwhelming energy, that takes you from any form of isolation. I mean, it’s possible to not like this hostel and I think that this hostel doesn’t match with every kind of personality, however thanks to Ben and every staff members I may find a home for a couple weeks. What was a 2 days short passage has transformed in a 3 weeks stay. It’s a very friendly hostel that bring value to Port Macquarie. Now, about the accommodation, I can affirm you that it is the cleanest hostel in which I have been since 3 months of roadtrip (and almost 15 hostels visited). Every morning and evening the staff members are cleaning (the bathroom + kitchen on the morning and the kitchen on the evening). The room were okay, but I think that it’s not the room that is the most important but with who you share it. And most important, the kitchen is open at any time! They even add a shelf with more space for you guys 😬

I had a great stay at PMB and it was my favourite hostel I’ve stayed in so far in Aus! the staff there (Tash and Co) are brilliant and would highly recommend to any bag-packer staying in Port Macquarie

We loved to stay in der Port Macquarie Backpackers! It was such a lovely, family like atmosphere and all the people were so communicative. We would definitely recommended again!!

Cheap affordable easy accommodation, good enough for a place to sleep for one night on my road trip from Brisbane to Melbourne. Staff was accommodating of late check-in. The place was clean, everyone else who was staying was respectful of everyones personal space and considerate of noise levels.

Requested a bottom bed as I'm a big guy and had huge difficulty climbing up to the top bunk. I'm guessing the bottoms were taken because I was late arriving however each bed had a location number which appeared not to be used. I was left with a room number and keys on the late arrival location which I was appreciative of.

This was a great place to stay with exceptionally helpful staff. We are not the average age of backpackers, being more like their parents or possibly grandparents. However, we loved staying here and found everyone friendly and quiet at night. The communal kitchen was well stocked and it was very useful for meals. We used the pool to cool down after a day walking and although not huge, it was most pleasant. The location of the hostel is great, very close to bus stops, town and within easy walking distance of shops and the marina. Ben, the owner is a gregarious, super friendly guy, full of good information and tips. I'd definitely recommend staying here if you are on a budget. We had the private bedroom and bathroom but the communal toilets and showers seemed good.

It was really cute and thr place felt like home! Toilets and kitchen were clean. Beds comfy and pillows too. Owner Ben was very chatty and helped me with everything he could. Easy to get there from Greyhound bus stop. Would definitely stay there again!

Couches in the living room were a bit outdated and the fridge was a bit too small considering how many people there were.

We had a privet room, bit small but comfortable

Perfect clean bedrooms and bathrooms. Nice communal areas.

Quite noisy traffic and wifi wasn’t that good in rooms. But other than that perfect!
