Location at first row to the sea.

We experienced a very rigid check-in process. We preferred to sleep together with our children in one room, but there was absolutely no flexibility regarding this. We showed at the reception how we had booked via booking.com, and the receptionist seemed to understand our perspective, but he strongly adhered to an overarching principle. We had to wait for two hours for check-in and had to purchase an extra room. It was late in the afternoon, so it didn't make sense to find another place with tired children. We recommend choosing a different location - especially with children. We have traveled across the country for many months, and this is the worst service we have encountered. It seemed like there was a greater focus on profit rather than creating a good experience for the guests.

I loved the location and the general hotel area. The beach is beautiful and there is a great beach bar area and places to lounge in the sun

The breakfast was not interesting. Too many choises of food that wasn’t good. That’s not unusual for Zanzibar. The eggs/omelet was almost the only thing worth eating. I’d prefer 3-5 well prepared options and good coffee and a glass of freshly made juice. The instant coffee was better than the brewed coffee. The service in the restaurant was slow, even for Africa, the waiters are nice but the experience is that of poor management. Not that the staff is bad, they just don’t seem to know what they should do.

Very distasteful poor, lack of creative breakfast, quality of staff attitude, dated faculties and Very overpriced, dirty,dated products, towels. One of the worst overpriced hotels in 51 countries so far we have traveled.

hotel needs renovation, poor variety of food for breakfast, not kids friendly as there is soooo much stairs from beach to the room.

Amazing staff! They’re the kindest people I’ve ever met! It’s located on really nice beach. I would say it’s the best part of the beach. If you walk few meters on the left, there’s plenty of starfish. Really delicious food in the restaurant. Breakfast was also good, not the same every day and lot of choices. Wouldn’t find any better place. :) We stayed all day after check out before leaving and they let us take a shower in the lobby, provided towels and also beach towels.

Only cold water in the room. The beach part of the resort looks old and needs some reconstruction. There were two managers going around every night which wasn’t feeling comfortable, seemed like they’re mean to the staff. :(

found this place on the day we arrived after going to our booked property (five palms) and being so disappointed. glad we found Kendwa. great location, very helpful and friendly staff. felt safe the whole time. would defo recommend.

There are good girls who work for money, if you understand me.

They did not clean the room and put towels, every day we urged and watered it but there was no effect, only after five days they started to clean. A disaster. People in restaurants and cafes on the beach constantly steal money from customers and tell a higher price than it is! Take care! We caught them stealing and cheating hotel guests every time. Incredibly. Thieves. There are always boats and ships on the beach and it smells of gasoline, as if it were a marina for ships.
