The room was very clean and spacious. Also the location in Kendwa is perfect, very close to the beach and many restaurants. The hosts are really friendly and helpful. We would definetly come back to Daeli Apartment!

Eliana and Dadi are amazing hosts, very helpful and attentive to your needs; Dadi even took us to the airport at 4.30 a.m. when our driver didn t show up. The room is cleaned every day, the bed is extremely comfortable, wifi works well and even has a safe. The location is great, 5-7 minutes to the beach, near restaurants and a supermarket.Hakuna Matata and hope to see you soon! :)

Amazing staff. Amazing breakfast. Great location. They really take care of you. We ended up adopting a kitten from the area, and the folks here were super helpful and supportive, including taking us to a pet store. Felt like a second family. :-)

One thing to note is the kitchen is next to two rooms, so you will share a kitchen. Also you have to pay in cash. Not bad things, we just didn't realize these upon arrival.

The breakfast was the same every day, we had much better breakfast in a cheaper apartment in Paje Zanzibar.

We stayed here for 5 nights and it was good value. The room was fine and the breakfast good. The welcome was friendly. We had a top floor apartment with a sea view.

Most of this is a reflection of Kendwa, not the accommodation itself. We personally found that the resorts here had taken over entirely here and it was no longer suited to independent travellers like ourselves. It was hard to see village life and everyone was trying to get as much money out of you as possible, to the extent that prices were sometimes more than back home! Each resort seemed to play loud music which you could hear in the room (hard to do much about, the apartments are on top of a hill and sound travels!). If you like a bit of culture and not just an amazing beach (which it undoubtedly is), then look at a place called Jambiani, this was much more our kind of place. Other people will love Kendwa, but for us, as well seasoned backpackers, it wasn't our kind of place.

Our rate is very low because we had very DANGEROUS SITUATION - we stayed on the top floor and at night (ca. 3 am) local CRIMINAL started BREAKING IN to our room, thankfully my partner woke up and chased the guy away. But you never know, he could have been armed and hurt us!!! We couldn't sleep until the end of our stay and the reaction from the manager of the place was that the GUARD WAS ASLEEP, seriously? it's his job to keep us safe! What's worse is that from what he told it's not the first time the guard was asleep at work... The situation was not treated seriously at all!!! No apology from anyone!!! If you stay there make sure you closed all the windows and pray that someone will not use force... no words... I think the breakfast could have been better, it was the worst we had in Zanzibar (stayed in 4 places). Curtains and mosquito net could be refreshed as the smell in the room was not pleasant. The place is way overpriced, but probably it's because of Kendwa beach that is nearby.
