The hotel is ideally located, very close to the inner city (walking distance about 10 minutes). The room we had was spacious, clean and comfortable with a window facing a small inner courtyard (apparently there are rooms without windows - be sure to check before booking). The staff was really helpful and friendly. I’d stay there again, if I should ever come back to San José.

The location was safe, all in lol I felt quite safe in San José, it took us (a child of four ) to walk to the city Center about 5-10min . The breakfast was good

The room we had was right to the street, on the ground floor, and we had no alternative:(

Bonne literie et chambres spacieuses c'est déjà ça... et dans l'absolu pas loin du centre, mais hélas pas du bon côté !

Hôtel très vieillissant avec les dalles du parquet qui partent a volo, une douche sans aucune pression à tel point qu'il est presque impossible de se laver, le Wifi qui ne marche pas à mon arrivée puis très mal après appel à la réception... Le petit-dej est probablement le pire de tout le Costa Rica avec deux oeufs, du pain sec et un jus industriel ! Et pour couronner le tout, le quartier est un haut lieu de la prostitution à San José, les prostituées sont alignées par dizaines devant le casino Taormina en face de l'hôtel et de nombreux vieux américains présents étaient clairement là pour ça avec la complaisance des gérants... Bref endroit à éviter surtout pour les familles !

El trato del personal fue muy bueno muy atentos haciendome recomendaciones ,caminando llegaba a los lugares de interes como el teatro etc. y para regresar cuando ya era tarde tomaba un uber y no es caro pues la distancia no es mucha, como inclui el desayuno que por cierto es rico y suficiente , un dia salia a un tour muy temprano avise antes de las 9;30pm de un dia antes y me prepararon un luch para llevar , esto me ayudo mucho para ir comiendo en camino a mi tour, ojo si haces esto avisa antes de las 9;30pm, las habitaciones muy comodas me prestaron un placha ,cuando sali en la tarde me senti segura , en la noche al regresar en uber igual me senti segura , si volveria a ser mi opcion

Que ampliaran el horario del desayuno ya que es hasta las 11;0 am y eso me hizo correr , tambien llegue como 10:30.y ya habia muy poca fruta , otro dia ya no habia café tenia que pedirlo y es incomodo, creo deberia estar el servicio de desayuno completo hasta las 11;00 como es el horario .

All the staff from the front desk, housekeeping the cafe and the restaurant staff went out of their way to give exceptional service. We enjoyed our stay and the beds and pillows were very comfortable.

The hotel is basically a brothel for American tourists. Noisy at all times of the day, dubious drugged up women wandering around. They hotel also stole £260/$300 from me. Avoid at all costs, unless you are as disgusting as this place is.

La zona es ruidosa de noche y no es seguro salir después de las 9, justo enfrente se paran les sexo servidores y hay muchos indigentes en la zona

Mucho ruido por las noches. Imposible dormir. Cerca hay casino, discoteca y prostitución. Por muy bonito que sea el hotel, si no puedes dormir no sirve para nada. No se lo recomiendo a nadie

Nice rooms at a good location to the Caribe bus terminal. Was within walking distance. Good to stay one night. The rooms were suffiently big.

The Breakfast was of low quality and small selection, Would have expected more for this price. The area is a little dodgy, with prostitutes lining up in the street (close to the Casino).

There were bugs on the beds when we first arrived :( I think a window had been left open prior to our arrival.

The place offers parking (100m away from the hotel) and has a restaurant onsite if it gets dark and you want food (it's open until 21:00pm, the food is just ok) The room was very nice, we got upgraded to the junior suite, it was huge and the bed was very big and comfortable. AC and nice shower too. Also big TV with lots of channels. The location is also good, close to the main avenue It's a beautiful old colonial house and it's nicely decorated

The service was nice. However, when we asked in the morning about what to visit or where to go for a walk in the city, the front desk staff was not very helpful, he did not give us any tip or information, he just did not know The breakfast is quite average, eggs and bacon (cooked when ordered), some fruit, bread and cereals. Although it's not the hotel's fault, our neighbours were very noisy at 2 in the morning and had a barking dog. They were shouting, had the TV on with loud volume and had the door open! We also heard them when they got to the room. The hotel should maybe check the corridors and the cameras more closely

I thought the building was lovely. The rooms were large and clean.

There was a live music band playing in the restaurant one night and it was so loud in my room that I could hear the lyrics to the songs even with earplugs. Also the soap/shampoo/conditioner dispensers didn't work and weren't labeled so it was impossible to know what was what. Had to buy my own toiletries. There were also men bringing sex workers into the hotel. Breakfast was meh.

I love my stain glass room! It was wonderful. I also appreciated the friendliness of the front desk staff. Everyone was kind, polite, and helpful.

Located in the historic and interesting Barrio Amon this hotel is a short walk to downtown. When we found that our assigned room had no windows, they quickly and courteously upgraded us to a lovely large room with lots of natural light. Staff were friendly.

Some rooms don’t have windows. The breakfast was the same everyday and after 3 days we chose to eat elsewhere for variety. The shower wasn’t adjustable and the spray was very rough.

Super quaint little hotel, very authentic, especially loved the photos in the lobby of what it was like 100 years ago. Great happy hour in the bar!
