After checking in, the property was indeed worth the all-inclusive badge. All meals, a la carte restaurants, events and drinks (alcohol-containing and not) were included, unlike some other all-inclusive resorts I have previously visited. The only event that was not free of charge, was the Dominican Fiesta, still only 20 USD per person and well worth the price. The buffet meals were mostly better than the reservation restaurants, not to forget lovely waiter Francis and his regularly smile-triggering chicken-beeping during customer service. The entertainment team was just amazing. Finally, but not lastly, their Bahia Principe marketing dance song is giant success. I was still singing it after having long returned home from the vacation.

The beach is slightly further away from the Grand Aquamarine resort area where we booked our room. Also, the Mikado Japanese Restaurant and Tepanyaki show was a HUGE disappointment, hardly anything related to Japan, started 40 min late, little and average rather Chinese cheap streetfood with a ridiculous cook. The resort meets the "relaxed" Latin-American mentality. You never know what will go different than expected or even wrong, but they will do their best to help and sometimes succeed, too :-) These were not big issues for us though. However, there was one huge disappointment. The resort needs to be paid in advance and they do send a link to the payment after reservation via the booking website, which unfortunately removed the link and hence we could not pay. We tried contacting them in every possible way without any response, while we were getting daily reminders about the payment and being noticed that the reservation will be canceled. Very unpleasant justa few days before arrival with a 1800€ total price. Customer service on phone was located in Spain and they were very unfriendly, not caring and a huge flop.

Not much good to say. Totally terrible experience.

The property is simply terrible. Its very far from the beach (maybe 15 mins walk) and you need to always wait for their stupid golf cart to go anywhere. We moved to Luxury Ambar in 1 day for a significantly more amount on top of the original amount. The Ambar is a lot better and that has mostly everything good (maybe 7-8 out of 10 rating). This Aquamarine property is very dated, fixtures dont work well, bad furniture, terrible food, worst service everywhere. The main desk phone was also not working from the room, and the management simply doesn't care. Lied about room service. Overall experience a little above Motel 6 quality.

Actually we upgraded from Aquamarine, which was an older side, to the renovated Luxury Ambar which is more modern. L.A. and the overall general property is beautiful. Overall I love this place. Its one of my favorites.

Only drawback was they no longer allow you to eat at all the properties, which are all connected. You can shop in the stores, walk thru the lobbies but you cant even get a drink while you are walking through. . So even though there are multiple extensions of the property and multiple restaurants you were kept eating in your complex only. That was disappointing.
