Nice modern hotel, great lakeside location
We had a sleepless night due to a large unmonitored and noisy young boys sports group during our stay,behaving like in a youth hostel. Not nice.

Aamiainen oli herkullinen ja oli mukavaa, kun pääsi ulos järven rantaan nauttimaan siitä.

Room next to to cleaning room. Unapologetic noise starting 7am, Walls paper thin and impossible to have a proper Night sleep. Indifferent corridor staff - when entering in and out of the room, cleaning trolleys on the floor, obstructing clear passage. Early in the morning, other room doors were wide open and making it impossible to leave the room before first shutting the other room doors. Clear emergency passage violation. Still, I was the ONLY customer in that wing. The attitude of the room staff was not hotel level. Front desk service was OK, but still not shown interest whether the customer had a good stay, what could be improved, etc. Breakfast was decent. Still, Sad and disappointing experience due to service related problems. Not recommended. I have stayed in socialist era hotels in China, this was a reminder of these establishments (and not in a good way).

Friendly staff, nice location, beautiful premises. Rooms are not very big but they are modern and have everything one needs for a nice stay.
The small renovation in the lobby brought the overall mood down a bit, once that is finished I think the hotel will be very nice.

Very nice location. Perfect breakfast. In the weekend the breakfast is until 11.00. We also used the sauna. Clean and comfortable room.

Bikes could be borrowed for free (and came in handy for a short trip to the city centre).
The room (I asked for a pet-friendly room) was smaller than we'd have liked.
Black out curtains are useless if the amount of light coming around the edges wakes you up!
Parking was tighter than I expected - there was an over-flow area but that wasn't obvious when arriving and looking for a space. This was the main reason I chose this hotel so it was annoying to have to drive around a few time to find a place to park my vehicle. My friend who was also staying there told me check-in staff informed him we could use another car-park but that was not sign-posted at all.
Evening meal on the day I arrived was over-priced but decent. I'd have went into town if we had time.

The location by the lakeside was fantastic. The view from the restaurant terrace was peaceful. The food was also good, especially the tasting collection as appetizer.
It was a bit of a hike to downtown Jyväskylä.

Breakfast was good. The location was fine. Beautiful lakeview. Went with bus to the centrum. Weather was quite bad (rainy), that might depent on my opinion.
There was no hair conditioner available in the room... Some little things dissspointed me too a bit. But my wishes about the room were ok.

The location was very good and parking great, view to lake-side and bridges are awesome if you have it.
Breakfast was standard hotel quality (=very good).
The bed was really hard to sleep on, but sheets were soft and pillows & blanket of good quality.

I've stayed at the Alba for over ten years and I really enjoy staying there and will return. The staff are always pleasant and helpful and, on this occasion, I was upgraded as they noticed I was staying for a long time. That was a very nice surprise upon arrival.
The hotel is around 25 minutes walk from the city centre which is not an issue but, because of this, it would be better if the food selection in the hotel restaurant was more varied. I would have liked to have eaten in the restaurant more frequently but as the choice was limited it was disappointing to eat there more than once during my stay.
