It was beautiful, comfortable, very clean and very welcoming. We loved the garden. We loved how the staff serviced us. They were very professional and they made the best breakfast for us. The coffee was the best we may have ever had. The small things like the welcoming port and water available in the sitting rooms for the guests made such a difference. The staff paid attention to the finest details and made it such a lovely stay. And having games available for us was great too. We loved our stay and would very much recommend it.

We received such a sincere welcome from Michael(the host) on arrival which set the whole stay up. The ambience of the room was delightful and both the room and bathroom were spotless. Every detail was thought of right down to the home made biscuits. Such a quiet setting. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great stay in New Norfolk.

It was perfect.

The most beautifully restored and decorated house, with large bedrooms, king beds, great views and awesome service. Michael greeted us and showed us to our rooms and gave us all the local information we needed. Lovely sitting areas for guests and a beautiful garden to wander through. there are fruit trees, vegetables and chooks! Exceptional breakfast with many options and real espresso coffee! Included some produce from garden, including their own preserved fruits. I would highly recommend Explorers Lodge

Everything! great location- very central to all we had planned and sensational hosts- Michael & Roberto - so welcoming, friendly, amiable & generous; gave us some great tips on places to visit, best driving routes etc.and both brimming with personality. This gorgeous home was impeccably clean; the room offered beautiful garden views; the bed was supremely comfortable with crisp sheets and very good pillows. A delicious breakfast was provided - expertly cooked and beautifully presented, topped off by fresh roses from the garden each morning. Many thoughtful inclusions made our stay very memorable & comfortable - home made biscuits, relishes, jams, Berry compote, fresh eggs, herbs and vegetables from their garden to an array of quality toiletry products.

Michael made our stay outstanding. We could not say a bad word about anything. Highly recommended a stay at Explorers Lodge.

There is seriously nothing we didn't like.

Breakfast was yummy! The eggs were from his chickens which was cool. Excellent service and many options. The river was close by and the gardens were stunning. Port served in lounge after dinner was nice.

The location was far away from any good restaurants, however this is not their fault.

We loved the house and the friendly hosts. Our room was compact but if we could have had a bigger room it would have been ideal! The breakfast was delicious!

Our room was slightly smaller than we would have liked but because of renovations we could not be moved.

The self contained apartment is part of the main house. It is very well maintained. The house sits in the middle of a huge garden - lots of beautiful flowers!! It was easy to drive out to the Gordon dam.

There are no restaurants to go to for a good evening meal.

Explorer’s Lodge was exceptional. The rooms were spotless, linen was lovely. Michael was the perfect host and our breakfast was delicious.

The Host was wonderful and so accommodating. The amenities were great and the location so peaceful. Would highly recommend a stay here 😊
