Perfect Position, cozy atmosphere, nice structure

WiFi in the rooms was not working well. Rooms on the lower floor are too expensive for what they offer

For all the wrong reasons, this was a memorable stay! ☹ The location of the lodge is in an excellent position, walking distance to the amazing falls with “the smoke” visible from the terrace/restaurant, also close to the town with access to restaurants, galleries, bottle shops etc, yet still quiet and peaceful….wonderful! The food and ambiance @ breakfast matched the amazing location.

The air conditioner in our room was akin to a truck driving through and even though the staff/maintenance people tried to improve it…..prognosis….needs replacing. The overhead fan was like a helicopter in the room…..so it was difficult to sleep in the comfortable bed. The coffee machine wasn’t working….again help was required….same prognosis…..needs replacing, so why didn’t they in our four night stay? The wifi wouldn’t work for us either…..after explaining that the wifi @ the Three Monkeys Restaurant nearby worked perfectly…..the front desk staff suggested we use the staff wifi access rather than the guest one…..guess what….it worked perfectly for 12hrs, then back to no workable wifi. Disappointing overall, considering the price per night for the hotel, but a couple of days later (in our next hotel with working wifi) I noticed that we had been billed twice for staying our four nights….now even if everything was wonderful…..a second charge!! I notified the lodge as soon as possible and expected it to be corrected in a few hours, as a priority (even though it wouldn’t be processed by their bank for a few days) but instead it took many emails to different departments to get the lodge to refund the second charge! Surely, it’s bad enough to double charge someone but then to take days of toing and froing to get it sorted/refunded is just not good enough. I made the suggestion that as a gesture of goodwill and for the amount of time I’d had to spend contacting them to get the refund that it would be appreciated if our airport transfer with them could be also refunded, not unreasonable under the circumstances, but my request was completely ignored, says a lot! Recommend you stay @ Shongwe Lookout, wish we had done so 😊

Ilala Lodge is a fantastic lodge. It has everything you will need and is extremely close to the township and Victoria falls itself. The gardens, views, pool area and dining area were fantastic.

Might be better price/value deal but still the lodge is fully booked You will hear flying helicopters right over your palm-leafed roof from morning till evening, almost all the time

Loved everything about this place amazing food, staff very helpful. The lady in the tour bookings place booked everything for us and was amazing. The room was always cleaned and everything topped up every day. Animals out our room !! Awesome experience. Definitely value for $$ , 100% recommend this place

The guy that answered when I asked for room service was very rude and asked me to come get food in the restaurant as he was to busy to do room service. When I said no I'd like room service he then told me in a rude tone that it would be a very very long time as the restaurant was full. I totally didn't mind at all just didn't fell like eating in the restaurant and obviously it was full anyway!!! ( food didn't take that long at all)

Breakfast was amazing as well as their dinners. Very good location to view the falls. The staff and service was great.I would definitely stay here again.
