Location ir good in Gion, main street ir very close

Rooms too small even for Japans standards, and breakfast was poor. Shower wasn't clean, and the floors was sticky too.

Breakfast was yummy and allowed us to try a traditional Japaneese breakfast. There were lots of options to choose from. The staff was super attentive. The room was very comfortable. All of the staff spoke english.

The room was a bit small, but was still spacious compared to other places we stayed at. We loved our king bed.

Good location, easy to find.

The property felt almost a mix of hostel and shared accommodation. The crowd was very mixed. The rooms were incredibly small and layout somewhat difficult to make comfortable. Wi-Fi changed from entry to room and bar which I found disruptive.

The locations is great - very centralized to areas we visited. It was incredibly clean- but then, I would expect this from any hotel in Japan. Breakfast is great and the public onsen is very nice and relaxing. The hotel caters to international travelers - this in itself is good for those travelers that need or want more English speaking staff. Loved having laundry facilities, but count on longer drying times - and get there early! Overall, a great place to lay your head at night.

Honestly, if I had viewed more of the pictures for the King room, I should have known better than to book this room. There is no room to comfortably get in and out of bed. The bar, if you are happy hour kind of travelers, opens at 5pm and unless the manager is there, the tenders are not really tending the bar.

This is an elegant understated hotel right in the heart of the action in Gion. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. There is a comfy lobby with coffee and water and a great bar. Fantastic Breakfast buffet. The rooms are small but very comfortable- There is an Onsen (public bath) in the basement that was very beautiful and serene. The staff went above and beyond for us- we were a group of 6- and they gave us three rooms in a row and were very helpful with information. luggage storage, and ordering us a taxi.

The only quibble was that there wasn't a luggage rack to put your suitcase on- we either had to use the floor or the couch. Otherwise, the hotel was fantastic.

Great location close to historical areas of gion. Onsen I. The hoe is open until late also, great after along time running around kyoto.

Our room was super small, bed was uncomfy, and air was stuffy. Couldn’t figure out how to open the window

It was close to many sights (temples and the Geisha district), restaurants and night life. It was a short cab ride from the Kyoto Station making easy access to/from the bullet trains. The rooms are very small Japanese style. The bed was very comfortable but the room generally felt cramped. The room was very clean. The staff is excellent!

The small rooms were the only detractor.

It was a great location, comfortable rooms, kind and helpful staff, good lighting, and an added bonus to have an onsen within the property. All very impressive!

The only challenge we had was getting feather-less bedding for my down feather allergy. The communication / translation took a while, but the staff were so helpful and committed they kept trying until they found us cotton pillows and comforter.

You clearly pay a prime for such a location, often at the price of room space, as was the case with the standard room we had booked.

Location is the best. The street out front, while small and narrow, was very busy and the style of driving in Kyoto is to drive very fast to intimidate the tourists. The rooms were very small. Better to get the rooms with two beds. The staff was great as was breakfast. My sons enjoyed the hot bath in the basement.

Excellent emplacement dans Gion et à proximité de kawaramachi. Petit déjeuner japonais très bien. Bain japonais très joli et ouvert tard le soir. Chambre jolie et calme, pas très grande. Salon sympa Personnel accueillant et aidant.

Location and front desk amenities were unique and nice. Breakfast was very impressive and extensive! Many of the staff actually speak perfect English, Google reviews suggest otherwise.

Not safe to bathe in women’s public bath. A man walked in using women’s key card. This has never happened to me before during any of my trips to Japan, not ever. They saw the video footage and checked what happened. The cleaning staff also didn’t refill amenities for us so we had a long back and forth about it until the hotel sent a pregnant lady to deliver it. They also had her apologise for the incident of the man walking in to the women’s changing room, someone else should have apologised not someone so vulnerable. That was wrong of the hotel and it felt much worse asking her for something to compensate for the distrust in the hotels security.

Comfortable accommodation in a special part of Kyoto.

The location was great.

Did not find out until we arrived that our room was in the basement level. Would not have booked it had I know in advance.
