The staff are fantastic. I wish I could remember all their names but unfortunately I can’t. I will shout out Aisha who made us welcome from the start to the finish. There was a beautiful long beach just in front of the hotel. The pina coladas ( shout out to the lovely young man who made them) and the food were delicious. The staff also helped make our wedding anniversary very memorable.

The vibe is very cool, the location is perfect (located directly on the beach). They have good parties during the evening, and large rooms.

Right on the beach, wonderful little place right next to the One Ocean dive centre. Stayed in the annex right next to the second pool, like our own private oasis. Very helpful staff and good food. The beach is wonderful for walks. Very peaceful and with the added bonus of live music or DJ most nights. Wonderful memories.

the place right on the beach. The music life with super musiciens in the evening. the atmosphere and the kindness of the staff. delicious food
Very good advises for the activities on the island and facility of organisation.
the rooms very dark- without any light if you stay on the ground floor. a bit depressing.
the breakfast very a bit slow to be served

The facilities were amazing, the beach too. Some staff members were also helpful and spoke decent english. The bed is the room was comfy also cleaning lady would come everyday which was nice. The owner was very friendly and had cute pets :)
Most of the waiters were not friendly at all, did not understand basic english and rude sometimes. I asked many staff members to wash my clothes since we stayed so long I didnt have any clean textile left. It never happened. The taxi driver on the last day was rude and also arrived late for the airport.

It was a last minute booking and I couldn't have chosen better. The room was cozy and clean. A separate villa with a beautiful swimming pool, I felt very comfortable there. A great plus was the evening concert of local musicians. amazing atmosphere and delicious dinner. The beach near the hotel is beautiful and the ocean has an amazing color. Thank you for a wonderful time. I'm sure I'll be back!

Only good things about this place was it was tight on the beach and most of the staff was really sweet
The place is dirty and poorly run. My room was dark and dirty, overall disgusting. It was also unsafe for instance the ceiling was falling out of the ceiling (no AC) and shower head was broken so water just sprayed all over and their was black mold on the walls and ceiling. They don’t provide mosquito nets and, pool was dirty. Any concerns brought to management were ignored or there’s just give a vapid apology. Wi-Fi doesn’t really work either. They also lied to me about the rate and then the to cheat me out of additional money when I was checking out

Loved staying at Seles. Great atmosphere, really really good food. We opted to have all our meals here and was not disappointed. Breakfast has a variety to choose from and was more than enough. Try the Uroa Brunch: fabulous and different. Quiet side of Zanzibar. Beds and rooms super comfortable. Super clean bathroom with hot water. Staff amazing, owners always available and want you to have a good time. Live music everyday which was a big plus. Cocktail hour every day, was amazing!
Nothing to dislike. Only thing, which is not the hotel's fault obviously, is that the beach have extreme tides, but sea is still "swimable". We knew this before and took our "sea shoes:.

I was impressed how cosy and cute this place is. I feel so much at home and welcomed.
The staff were quick to help on any requests.
They fixed the clogged bathroom floor, install shower curtain quickly.
beside a dive centre hence so convenient to go diving.
just you cannot really walk freely along the beach as a lot of local people trying to approach us to sell their tours.
the water outside too shallow to swim.
also not so safe to walk to nearby supermarket.

Everything… Such a great beach hotel.
nothing, it’s great value.

My room in the annex was really okay, but I couldn't keep the mosquitos from entering the room and there was no mosquito net. Would highly recommend to fix this issue. Spraying insecticides is NOT a solution.

It was easy to relax with the bar counter, pool, and ocean right outside the room. The staff was cheerful and all seemed to be music lovers. I was delighted when they invited me to a nightclub late at night and drove me there. Every evening, we enjoyed beach fires and live music. It truly felt like enjoying a resort with the combination of the ocean, music, and drinks.
It was disappointing that the room had a musty smell due to humidity. Since there were no screens on the windows, it seemed like insects could enter, and ventilation was limited. It was necessary to keep the air conditioning on constantly to cope with the situation. It would have been better if there were better ventilation measures in place.
While it wasn't ideal, it didn't become a major downside.

Great stay. Lovely place and so close to the beach. Just walk outside the front and you are on the beach. You should take some snorkeling gear and walk in the sea and just see amazing corals and fish! Breakfast was great.
If you meet Dory and Bongo, you will fall in love with them instantly!
When we stayed in low season the price of the hotel was doable but unfortunately the prices of the food was really expensive though.

Very chill and the food was great and plentiful. They also had a bar and you could get alcohol for a resdonable price.
I wish they had more throw rugs in the rooms, and a place to wipe of your feet or a foot bucket to rinse with at the door to my villa.
The rainy season, but there were breaks in the weather so we still had fun.

Seles is a little gem with lots of vibes and character. The rooms are simple and comfortable, the eating area is lovely and breezy (serving excellent food and drinks), and the staff is warm and friendly. The place is sandwiched between two dive shops (both diving and snorkeling) so access to the magnificent underwater world is right outside your doorstep in their front yard. Doesn't get better than that!
I had booked it specifically for the enticing nightly entertainment line-up...karaoke, live bands, and DJ nights. Unfortunately, due to Ramadan, the nightlife was not happening. Though no fault of their own (Ramadan Kareem), I was disappointed. However, the silent evenings, listening to only the wind in the palms and the murmur of the sea, offered equally wonderful music to my ears.

Our experience in this place was AMAZING! We booked the bungalow room on the private side of the hotel which has its own pool (shared with two-three rooms - when we went there we had it almost for our own as it was the end of the high season) . The place was fantastic with a lot of privacy, two steps from the beach and great relaxing vibes! We stayed both at Matemwe beach and also at Jambiani in the north side and I have to admit that the most beautiful part was by far Matemwe beach as we could swim and it wasn’t as windy as on the other side. the staff was super friendly and helpful- we even forgot our cell phone in the taxi on our way to the south side of the island and we called the hotel who had booked the car and they immediately helped us. The bar/restaurant was also a great experience for us, the breakfast had everything we needed and we also had lunch and dinner there which was also as good. The most important thing of all is that everyone (from the Masai guarding the rooms to the hotel manager) made us feel very welcomed and as a result we had an unforgettable experience that we will take with us for the rest of our lives.

Having completed an exhausting 14-day safari, we needed absolute R&R and the Selles gave us this by the bucketful. Located on the beach, we stayed on-site for our entire 6-days in blissful randomness. Loved the routine entertainment and music throughout the day and evening. Food suited us and all the staff were welcoming, friendly and always helpful. We stayed when there were not that many guests, so it was quiet at times.
Electricity supply was intermittent and therefore so was Wi-Fi; however, that could also be seen as a bonus! Nights occasionally became very hot in the room without the fan or Air Conditioning.

This was our third stop on the island after Stone Town and Nungwi. We enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of the area and the hotel itself. We actually hardly left the hotel grounds because it was that accomodating. The pool and seating right at the beachfront were plenty and comfortable with enough shade. We were there on Wednesday when there was live music. Band was really nice. Food and drinks were good. The guys working the bar and tables were also all very friendly.
Rooms were large and clean.
Only thing that was strange was that we could not control the air conditioner. It was either on and set at 24° or off. There was a possibility to use the ceiling fan, but we don't like sleeping with a fan. So that made the room either too warm for sleeping or too cold with the one thin sheet that was provided. Also, the fridge in the room was not possible to use since it had a different type of outlet. Other than that, our experience there was very nice!

lovely ambiance and music in the nights. the places looks cute and charming. pool side with lights view of the sea and entertainment is a plus. Miss Angel was a great add to that as well as Whiskey
lizards enter room from outside and there was no help about the luggage when we arrived even though we requested it. I would say renovation is needed. room was quite small and electricity was going our occasionally. also internet is a bit weak.

the facility was everything I was looking for. Nice bungalows by the great beach of Matemwe. Super friendly staff starting with the lady who checked me inn(Marie) who really goes out of her way to ensure you have a comfortable stat. Also the guys at the restaurant an the bar are great. Rooms are simply decorated in village style but it was exactly what I wanted. Super delicious food and nice evening performances. Too sad I stayed for 2 nights only but will definitely be back for a longer stay.
