Amazing decor and design, super clean and felt like paradise
Nothing, everything was perfect!

Fantastic stay! I liked everything. The property is brand new, everything was so clean and fresh, tastefully decorated. Pool large and clean. Personnel so kind and helpful. I will definitely come back.

Alles!!

Location is great. Its located by the best part of the beach. It’s not located ON the beach but its only a one min walk away.
The bed was comfy and everything very clean.
Friendly staff.
Aircon didn’t work as expected. Even though electricity cuts are common across zanzibar, they could have managed the generator better as we heard some other hotels did.
WiFi was poor of the same reason but that didn’t matter as much. Air con is something we expected to work better when it’s so hot outside.
The breakfast was varying quality. Some days the fruit was missing and even though there are fruit stalls 5 min walk away they didn’t bother to go buy more. Other times other items were missing and there was a lack of flexibility from the staff to try to solve the problems even though more guests raised the issues.

Very clean, spacious rooms with a generous bathroom and timeless interior design. Nice view from the balcony. Super quiet and peaceful environment for relaxation. Everyone at Villa Unaweza is very friendly and the whole place feels like a home away from home. Breakfast was delicious with a wide selection available. Matemwe beach is literally a minute walking distance. There's free yoga classes four times per week, which are professional, and if there's no classes you can still take a yoga mat and practice on your own whenever you want. This place is a gem, I can definitely recommend staying there.
The village of Matemwe is very quiet, so this place is not for people who seek to party a lot. Small thing I would suggest would be to offer water dispensers for guests as currently drinking water has to be bought per bottle.

POOL AREA WAS AMAZING. VERY FRIENDLY PEOPLE WORKING THERE. THE HOTEL WAS CLEAN AND BREAKFAST NICE. THE OCEAN IS SO NEAR AND THE BEACH IS AMAZING. YOU COULD DO YOGA AND PLAY VOLLEYBALL IF YOU FEEL SO. 10/10. LITTLE OASIS IN MATEMWE
There is not too many shops around.

Such a nicely decorated boutique villa with super friendly staff that make you feel at home. Food at restaurant is also amazing and we loved the free Yoga sessions.
All was great.
For the people who didn’t do the research, it’s quiet there. That is not a minus at all.

The property is amazing, it has a beautiful timber structure very much in keeping with local architecture and looks really fabulous. The rooms are more western in style, so less timber and more tiles, nevertheless they are extremely comfortable and large. Staff was attentive, smiley and super friendly. Very recommended.
If it was directly facing the beach it would have been perfect. It is on the pricey side. Anyway superlative place.

I was traveling with my wife and accidentally booked 2 rooms on booking.com. When we arrived, they didn't say anything about the 2 rooms and charged us for both. When we realized the issue, they made us call booking.com to ask for a refund. That refund was approved but Villa Unaweza has still not processed it. I have gone back and forth with their manager Felisi multiple times on whatsapp and they keep saying it will be processed but our stay was now over a week ago.
I could understand if the double booking led them to losing revenue but during our stay only ourselves and 1 other couple were there so there were plenty of unsold rooms.
Knowing we didn't use the 2nd room, and that they have confirmed the refund would be paid, it is very frustrating that they have refused to process the refund.
Be very careful when checking in to confirm the price you are being charged is actually what you paid for.

Great little resort with only 8 rooms. Total quietness and privacy, really good breakfast and restaurant, only 100 meters to the beach. Yoga lessons by the owner for free. Great staff. Would come back at any time!

The staff and food and everything was perfect no complaints, very friendly and had such a relaxing and fun time

Beautiful design. The garden is lovely.
Electricity cuts - the room was a bit damp. Probably due to electricity and A/C not working too well
4.8

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the boutique villa Unaweza and I must say, it was a truly wonderful experience. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, boasting a new model Africa style that is both unique and charming. The rooms are kept in pristine condition, and I was delighted to find that the hotel provides spa products for their guests, including organic shampoo and shower gel.
What really made my stay exceptional, however, was the staff. They were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to ensure that I had everything I needed. The breakfast was also perfect, with a wide variety of options that were all delicious.
As for the location, it couldn't be better. The hotel is just a one-minute walk from the beach and offers a private area with a swimming pool. The facilities in the hotel were also top-notch, including free yoga classes for guests.
My only suggestion for improvement would be for the hotel to provide more information about transportation options when booking. I found that using round-trip transportation from the airport was cheaper than taking a taxi, and I think other guests would appreciate knowing this as well.
Overall, I highly recommend the boutique villa Unaweza. It's a truly special place that I would happily stay at again.

We had the most amazing stay! I went there with my son and we had such a great time. By far my favorite hotel I’ve stayed at. It’s very intimate but spacious and the interior is just lovely. The owner and manger were both great and we even had a free yoga class we could attend. It’s literally right at the beach and our entire stay was magical to say the least. The food was outstanding and the service was just as amazing. Great staff!
4.8
The room was nice and authentic
We had no phone in the room to call reception so any time we needed assistance we physically had to go all the way downstairs to speak to reception (even at 2/3am) which was an inconvenience at times. The staff at the restaurant need to let the customers know what is free and what is chargeable as we asked for water with our breakfast which was included in our stay however we had to pay for the water which we found rather strange

Lovely rooms, great beds and beautiful hotel
Food in hotel restaurant is a bit pricey

very good Service, breakfast was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the yoga classes. the rooms are beautifully designed and the whole setup is very serene. the pool was clean and the beach very close. bathing there was nice and possible in accordance with the tides. great atmosphere and very easy to relax.
there is no door to the toilet. and as the bathroom as a whole isn’t closed off either, there is no „privacy“. you will hear and smell everything from the bedroom.

Very calm and relaxing environment, everything clean and new. Amazing food!!

It is the most beautiful and comfortable hotel I've ever seen. it feels very luxurious and you can really relax in the cute rooms and restaurant. The pool area is also amazing and the umbrellas give a welcome relief from the strong sun on the local beach.
The staff are the best, so sweet and attentive. It's very very clean, the staff clean rooms every day and spray against mosquitoes. Food is delicious as well, although pricy.
Hotel's currency is dollars and yet they can't give change in dollars which is bizzare.
4.8
I just loved the room, the houses and the ambience of the whole place. The possibility to have yoga classes and space to use for self training is excellent. I felt very relaxed there.
The restaurant could have more authentic menu. I don’t feel like eating English or Italian food at Zanzibar.
4.8
The staff was extremely helpful and nice, especially the owner and the manager. The place is brand new, calm and quiet. It was really clean and really amazing place to stay! They let us to choose our room, which was nice. Most of the time, there weren't other people than us. The breakfast was also really nice. They also organize yoga classes for the hotel quests, which is a nice start of the day. The area seemed safe, and we felt so secured the whole time.
The dinner menu is quite expensive compared to other places, and there isn't a lot of options to choose from. I would change the menu from time to times, and add more cheaper snacks since there aren't proper supermarkets near by. The location is far from everywhere, and you can't swim at the beach. For us, this wasn't a problem since we wanted to relax at the hotel. We were on our honeymoon, and it would had been nice if they would have taken that into consideration some how.

The ambiance was really nice, the staff was super friendly and the location was good.
Good food, breakfast and snacks. Lush courtyard and very calm.

Everything.
Nothing.

- amazing breakfast
- friendly manager and staff
- because it is still new they are open flr feedbacks
- all is clean
- wonderful building
- good food and drinks
it was just perfect!
we read some reviews about „low water pressure in the shower“, but if you imagine that the people of village next to the hotel must take their water out of a well, then this should not be considered as a negative point.
4.8
Beautiful relaxing quiet peaceful hotel. From the moment we arrived until we left the manager and staff were exceptional, nothing was a problem. We had to leave early one day at 05.45am for a excursion and the staff organised a pack up breakfast for us to take which consisted of fruits and croissants. My wife even joined in with the yoga classes which was held free of charge. The food is absolutely amazing and tasty and the hotel is spotlessly clean, thankyou for a great stay
