Thal Sewana is a great place to stay, it is easy to walk to Pidurangala and Lion Rock, but what really makes this place special is the host, Wasanti. Our stay here started with a warm welcome, our room was simple and clean, providing a great place to rest. The garden is a pleasant area to relax and the patio area is lovely to enjoy your meals. Wasanti, has great knowledge of the local area and is a calm, kind person and it was a pleasure to spend time here with her.

The lady Aunty who manages the property was an excellent host. She was a very friendly lady and took great care of us. She prepared and served fresh Sri Lankan breakfast which was delicious. The hotel is a walkable distance to Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala Rock.

Possibly the water in the washroom could have been Hot. Also, a little far from the restaurants, but the hosts also offer lunches and dinner at their property.

Everything was exceptional, close to the best location, and the food was amazing, specially the srilankan rice and curry

There are helpful personal. We had good breakfast. The hotel has good location, near Pidurangala and Sigiriya. You can get flashlight in the hotel for morning rise to Pidurangala

Super kind host, gave us a lot of information about Sri Lanka and about our trip to Sirigirja and Pidurangala. She albo help us a lot with transportation to Dambulla. Highly recommended beautiful place

My sister and I’ve had the best time staying at Thal Sewana. The location is great if you want to do the lion rock or the Pidurangala rock hike. The owner, Wasanthi, is such a lovely woman and she made us feel at home. She helped us with all our questions and was great company too. I think as a solo traveller you would have an amazing stay too. A good friend of her, Chamith, is a tuktuk driver. He’s really nice too, fair prices and really helpfull. I will definitely go back to Thal Sewana when I go to Sigiriya again.

Here property was located near the Sigiriya rock and Pidurangala. and here was large room, good working air conditioner and staff was very kind and warm. I was single traveller, so she makes me feel comfortable like my mom. also every morning she prepare the lovely breakfast. including tea or coffee, toast, various fruits, egg dish or sri lankan food. you can eat the breakfast at outdoor terrace and enjoy good moment. and there was a cute dog also.

I remember I visited here at October, hot water not working. but the weather was not cold. it was okay. and there were many flies in my room. I think the flies not bite person.

Saman is a brilliant hostess who could not have been more kind or helpful. The location is quiet and peaceful but is ideal for climbing Pidurangala and Sigiriya. Breakfast and dinner were tasty home prepared meals. Would recommend the homestay to friends and family

The woman is really lovely! Dinner was good and prices are really fair. It’s close to the start of the hike to Pidurangala Rock.

The rooms and toilet were kept clean and the place is well managed. We were warmly welcomed by the host and felt home immediately. Host is very accommodative for every request. Helped us arrange transport to visit the places. Both sigiriya and pidurangala is walking distance from the home stay. The food was amazing! Would love to visit again.

Unforgetable stay, amazing surroundings, very close to Piridangula mountain. The location was excellent - walking distance to both rocks. The host was wonderful and kindly organised various trips and train tickets for us. The food was, without question, the best we’ve had in Sri Lanka. The room was very comfortable - AC, hot shower, wifi. We were so sorry to leave. We loved our stay! We couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Great location, just couple of minutes walk of the Piduragala temple to go up the mountain and 10/15 mins walk of the lion's rock. The owner was really lovely, attentive and a great cook. She puts lots of effort to make us feel welcome.

Perfect! The location cannot be beaten. A short walk to both Sigiriya Rock and Pidurangala Rock. Host was exceptional and gave us advice throughout the stay. Food, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious.

We had an absolutely unforgettable stay at Thal Sewana Homestay - surely one of our most beautiful experiences, a human one above all. This charming guest house is managed by a lovely mother and her son. Two extraordinary people of an incomparable kindness and goodwill who made our stay a wonderful moment. We felt like at home! They have always lived there, so they will be of very good advice to help you visit the area in the best possible way! The house has 4 rooms, ideal to be in a quiet environment. The location is also ideal, located just between Lion's Rock (15 min walk from the entrance) and Pidurangala Rock (5 min walk from the entrance). 2 bonus points, they are divine cooks and the room is super affordable! If we have could, we would have put a grade of 10/5 - we will miss them so much! If you ever have the chance to visit Sigiriya, do not hesitate one second, you will never find better!!!

One of the best stays I’ve ever had. The owner was super friendly, kind and exceptional cook. Her vegetable curry is wonderful. Residence is pretty, maintained, very clean and bed was very comfortable. Also locarion is great, right next to Pidurangala and very close to Lion ´s rock. if I'm ever in Sri Lanka again, I'll definitely be back.

Nice and cosy place owned by the family. Location was splendid with views of the Lion Rock. Walking distance to Pidurangala Rock. Hosts were very friendly and recommended good places. Room was very nice and clean, with aircon. Food provided was good and tasty. There was hot water with good pressure.

The best accommodation in Sri Lanka we have stayed! the location was perfect, very green and in the 5’ walking distance to the 2 rocks! Our host took great care of us and we felt like staying with a family member. Her food was also super tasty and very affordable. The room was very clean and comfy. This place is definitely one of our top reasons to come back to Sri Lanka!
