A lovely welcome and excellent staff. Breakfast was very good. We had one dinner which was great
This is nothing to do with the hotel. I found that the daily updates from Booking.com were annoying and in one case inaccurate.
4.1
As a solo traveller the staff were very helpful, friendly, and went beyond to clear the ice off my car wen i left.
Lots of different spaces to eat, drink, read and footpath map available

Lovely room, lots of space comfy bed
Carpet around Bath got wet in the bedroom, not planned out as well as could have

Good location in Suffolk coast. Comfy bed. Nice breakfast. Good parking. Friendly staff.
Very dark room. Had to have light on in daylight to see. Need to supply a shower hat for ladies as rainhead shower ruins your hairdo. Very limited main meal menu of the same old pub fare, and the very crispy chips cooked in beef dripping taste of nothing else but beef dripping as they gradually cool. Sorry not nice.

dinner satisfactory

Staff and food.
Room too small

Nice recently decorated bedroom and en-suite bathroom. Nice large comfy double bed. Very good breakfast. Very rapid check in and check out. Good large car park.
People in room above seemed very noisy when they went to bed after midnight and again when they got up before 8am on Sunday morning. Kept us awake until they went to bed.
4.1
Very clean and comfortable. Lovely fixtures & fittings.
Nothing to dislike . Would definitely stay again but ask for room away from main room.

Great Location
Nothing to dislike

Everything was of a high standard
The bed was narrower than expected. We are used to super king size.
Larger people would have had a problem with this bed.
4.1
Fantastic Pub/Hotel couldn't fault anything food, rooms or staff. Location central to everything, both dog friendly and has amenities for those with mobility issues.
4.1
The room was very clean and the staff friendly. Good to have a lounge you can sit in. Fantastic breakfast.
The room was a bit small but adequate for our 2 night stay.
4.1
Disappointed to find dogs were allowed in the restaurant. I accept that they might be in the bar but five came in during our evening meal two of which were yapping loudly. One at breakfast as well.
4.1
The compact double room was very small with a sloping roof which made it difficult to get in and out of bed on one side without bumping your head. We are not big people but I do feel this room should only be given to a single person as there is not really enough space for cases & two people. Also although the room itself is lovely the room is located at the top of the building up two flights of very narrow stairs again it should be made clear before booking as it was difficult for my husband at 83 to negotiate the stairs with a suitcase as he has heart problems. I asked at reception given the circumstances if we could change to a room on a lower level explaining the difficulty but I was told I would have to pay a supplement & no help was offered with our cases. I have learnt that I need to request a room on a lower floor in future when booking.

The bedroom was comfortable and tidy, it had the bonus of having a bath in the bedroom as well as a shower in the en-suite. Bathroom products such as shampoo, conditioner and body wash was great as it was made in England and sulphate and paragon free.
The coffee machine was difficult to use though and the coffee pods didn't give us too much coffee.
The staff at breakfast could have been a bit more attentive, they seemed to be more interested in feeding sausages to dogs at the other tables! and we had to ask for our coffee to be brought to the table and our extra toast never arrived. And the croissants ran out! I was really looking forward to one of those! The breakfast itself was really tasty though.

Lovely friendly happy welcome from staff on arrival.
Arranged take-away breakfast for us each morning as we were going off early each morning.
Evening meal was absolutely delicious.
The ensuite shower/toilet in my room was so tiny, it was not possible to dry yourself in the room.
The light in the ensuite is very dim and you cannot see in the mirror to do make-up etc but these are really minor things that do not spoil the stay at all.

Located in a lovely village close to good footpaths in to the countryside and close to RSPB Minsmere and Southwold. All staff we encountered were really friendly, particularly those in the restaurant during dinner. Well stocked tea tray with good variety and a personalised note on arrival was a nice touch. We would stay again 🙂
Whilst we really liked the decor, the painted ceiling in the bedroom made an already dark room much darker. Paintwork in room and restaurant could do with a touch up. Carpets in room also a bit tired.

A really gorgeous room, beautifully styled. Food was all delicious.
The duvet was too hot

Very good room, very good restaurant and bar. Top notch stay over Easter
4.1
Very comfortable, lovely bar and restaurant. Rooms are super clean, we had two rooms as a family of 4 plus the dog. Dogs are made most welcome, with a bed, towel and bowl in the room just for the dog. There was also a treat for the dog, a lovely touch.
Sometimes with ‘dog friendly’ hotels or rooms you feel like you get the slightly lesser rooms but no here!
Nothing

Clean, comfort, well possible.

I had stayed before, just like the ambience and the staff who are friendly

4.1
Staff v friendly, room lovely and clean, food and breakfast very good, facilities good. We liked the attempts to save on waste ie soap, shampoo etc, towels.
I brought some herbal teabags as not sure if there would be decaffeinated and also a lime to have a slice in my tea and room service threw them away as nowhere to be seen on second morning. A bit noisy in dartford warbler room from the road.
4.1
the restaurant, bar area and staff were lovely
the shower was so small, I’m 5ft 2 and had to squat to shower (not ideal when pregnant) and my husband couldn’t fit under it. no idea how anyone taller would shower! you couldn’t take it off the wall either, the opposite problem was when sat at the desk the mirror was too high to see in, very strange design decisions. the room smelt of damp/mould, we had the windows open to combat this but it’s a very busy road so the traffic noise was loud.
when we went for breakfast all of the buffet options had been put away even though they should have been included in what we paid for. breakfast finished at 10.30 and our table was at 10, we could have come earlier if we had of known this would be a problem

Great choice, lovely dining room
Everything was fine
4.1
The quirky old world charm with lovely modern facilities, like bathroom.
Excellent food.
Cheerrful friendly service.
Poor lighting in bedroom...hopeless for reading.
Cottage room on the road so lots traffic noise early morning.
Restaurant furnished with old mis-matched tables and chairs: good for pub but not for fine dining.
