Food was excellent. Great staff that were very friendly. Beautiful and well maintained resort.

The room was incredibly dated and dark, not particularly inviting. For the amount I paid I would expect a much higher quality. Breakfast and dinner were included but these were buffet style and there were no vegan options, so it was a bit pointless for me.

We loved the Petit Lafitte Hotel because it is a different place, without the crowds of another big hotels. We had a partial ocean view room with a small Balcony that was perfect. We enjoyed hammocks at the beach and to have breakfast and dinner included. We could enjoy another restaurants in town for lunch.

I think the entrance could be difficult in rain season. Beds are too small for two people. Could be queen size.

The staff was great. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. They had music most nights and that was a nice touch. We were upgraded to a bungalow that was right on the beach. The pool was beautiful and in a nice location. There were plenty of fresh beach towels and chaises on the beach. There was a barbeque one evening which was fun. Lots of good food and music.

Unfortunately the food in the restaurant was not very good. There was a partial buffet for breakfast and for dinner and then you order off the menu. It was very repetitious and there was not much to choose from Dinner was only 2 selections. The hotel was very far from town. It was a $25 fare in each direction and took about 40 minutes, it made going there for dinner inconvenient. That made us a captive audience for dinner each night.

This is a location you should choose if you want a total beautiful and relaxing vacation. No tv, seclusion, very few guests, lots of shaded beach areas, and nothing to do but relax. Perfect for a couples retreat with or without small kids but older kids might be bored. Uber delivers here from a few restaurants, ice cream and coffee shops nearby. You can call Coco Cabanas nearby and they will deliver to hotel beach side and has really good margherita pizza, fish and chips and the best grilled octopus and accepts usd with no delivery fees. Drinks were weak but the best ones were the Pina colada, nice carajillo and strawberry daiquiri.

The food was not always always the best every night. I'd love to see some more variety or a small dinner menu, like breakfast, to order from. Breakfast was great. Would also like to be able to order a proper iced latte, I never did receive one that tasted right.

it is perfect and has a local authentic feel to it. we read all the reviews and we got what we were expecting. the staff is the best part of the property.

the only thing I would prefer is perhaps if the shower pressure was great.

the beach had a lot of seaweed but this seemed to be an issue due to weather and not hotel as other were far worse.

Nice meals and service and vibe

Unable to swim on the beachfront due to seagrass and rocks. Not much activities for kids or adults. Guess thats part of the concept. We rented a car to explore more.

Fabulous hotel. Small intimate. Incredible massages on the beach. Food was excellent and the drinks were superb.

All food was fantastic especially tacos. Staff very friendly and good service throughout. Nice terrace to sit on.

Nothing really. This property is unique

A comfortable little bungalow right by the beach and surrounded by wildlife… lovely sitting on our veranda watching monkeys playing in the trees. The beach is glorious. Excellent daily yoga and a very pretty dining room, breakfast was good there. The bungalow was kept beautifully clean with an great array of towel animals.

The food and service was really hit and miss. Some good staff in the restaurants and on reception, but some others were completely chaotic and a couple were actually rude. The meals started off as very disappointing but then picked up towards the end of our stay, the service seemed to get better too or maybe we’d just got used to it…. The sunbeds had no cushions and were quite uncomfortable.

Everything was awesome! Great food and prices! Everyone was very nice and great to our kids!

The bungalows with the nice sitting platform on it is wonderful. Very close to the beach. There are 3 types of bungalows; ocean front, ocean view and garden view, Ocean view might see the ocean from a little back, but still beautiful. Inside is quite comfortable, beside a big double bed, there is also one bunk-bed on the bathroom. Breakfast and dinner were also very good; besides open buffet, you choose from the menu for the breakfast and they give at least 2-options for the dinner. There was different music for all of the 5-nights. Bar in front of the ocean is great as well. They garden is beautiful, full of birds and nice plants. Monkeys were around, it was great to see them; only for 1-day. The other days our daughter waited for them, but they do not show up. I made yoga for 2 mornings, and it was also so good. Free sunbeds were available to enjoy the ocean under the coconut trees. They provided us the breakfast boxes for the days that we took the tour.

The lobby is definitely not good looking. Neither the neighbor buildings. Hotel is quite far away from the center of Playa del Carmen, not possible to walk (we tried), only option is taking the taxi which is quite expensive. It is worth to mention that all region, and the hotel, is mainly full of Americans. So this situation might be too noisy for others. During the dinners and also for nights, we really suffered. I woke up each time even though I had earplugs due to their noise. During the dinner as well, surrounded by extreme noise...But this is of course not the fault of hotel. Overall, the proximity of the beach and bungalows are just wonderful.

charming bungalow just few steps away from the beach, love it that you step directly on the sand. morning yoga classes is just so helping to be in this paradise nirvana. we loved the beach bar and resto, the kitchen is on good level and service too. the beach was clean and nice, but for kids it’s better to swim a bit on the left because of the rocks. live music every evening was just delightful! the staff was very welcoming and nice.

We had half board and the Breakfast and dinner was great. The Mayan staff was so genuine and nice. We were glad the beach bungalow could accommodate 5 people but it was a tight fit.

The staff and relaxed atmosphere was a nice way to end our 2 week vacation exploring Mexico. The seaweed was less then at Tulum but because of rocks and reef behing the hotel we could enter the beach directly behind the hotel.
