I don't think it's fair to charge for linen and cleaning. Add it to the overall cost. I know this might be what they do in this country but unless you read all the print throughout the booking you won't see it and you end up paying the same amount you would if you'd paid for a more expensive hotel.

The location is beautiful but the resort itself is old, quite expensive and doesn't have comfortable beds and pillows.

My husband had a birthday and I was happy to find a hotel room where I didn't have to clean. I booked in the booking.com app and there was no mention of cleaning the hotel room. I paid in advance so check in was short without mentioning cleaning. But as I was checking out the same member of staff asked me if I have cleaned the bathroom and the whole room. I was surprised about that as there was no mention of cleaning the hotel room neither in my booking nor when I was checking in. This rude staff member then made me pay an expensive cleaning fee! If I new that I would not have booked this place as this was a birthday present!! The room was dirty from previous customers so if I had cleaned I would have to clean for hours to get it clean. I don't like when hotel staff cheats and tricks customers. I can't recommend this place unless you like dirt from previous guests and rude staff. The place also did not have any restaurant. They also don't clean the snow at the parking so one can get snowed in.

The location served us well - it is 10 min walk from Myrkdalen Hotel / ski resort and was right next to an Airbnb apartment we were staying at the following day. The hotel has a nice and cosy lobby - it was good to hang out there and drink some tea there in the evening.

We are a family of 5 (my wife and me and our 3 children). We were told that some of the larger rooms for 4 people can accomodate 5, which we accepted. What we weren't told until we walked into our hotel room was that the bed for the 5th person was a mattress in a small attic like area that you had to crawl into, access to which required climbing a steep 3 metre long ladder to that area. I didn't let my children (or my wife) climb up there for safety concerns and slept there myself. Also, the top section of the bunk bed was a bit rickety so I didn't let my children sleep there either. So the sleep set up was as follows: two of our children at the bottom section of the bunk bed (it accomodates 2 people), my wife and our 3rd child on the foldout sofa bed, and me in the "attic". We managed to sleep like this for one night but I wouldn't want to do it again. Finally, the room itself was not large so staying there for more than one night and struggling with the suitcases, etc. and the lack of space would be a challenge.
