The location and accommodation is magical. The owner and staff are very kind and natural and easy to talk to. I recommend to book the additional dinner which is prepared with a lots of love and variety. The rooms are traditional and very comfortable. There is no private WC and bath but there are more than enough WCs on the corridor and the wooden bath tubs and shower places are generous and extremly relaxing. Akemi-san thank you so much for your hospitality. I had such a great time I will never forget!

Great ryokan with a lot of history. We stayed 1 night in a traditional Japanese room and was able to use the bath privately. shared bathroom facilities were very clean. The dinner and breakfast was good (need to reserve, I messaged them via booking.com) and hosts were lovely! the only comment was that the bed doona was too hot and then the room was too cold to not have it covered but otherwise a nice short stay.

The receptionist was great. she took very good care of us. she cooked for us as well as giving us food to go when we checked out.

It was a little tricky to find in the dark because it was on top of a mountain.

Nice family run traditional Japanese hotel on the mountain of Mitakesan! I highly recommend for anybody who wants to do a long hike on the mountain or just to relax and get away from the city.

The hosts were very nice, the room has an awesome view, the dinner and breakfast were awesome as well. This is quite convenient for hiking.

It was cold outside of bedroom or dinner room but it's kind of normal I would say for a place like this and during this season.

Superb location with a great view. Amazing food with lots of different local ingredients. Friendly and flexible hosts. All in all had a great time here!

Best chance to experience the traditional Japanese culture, in a beautiful scenario and excellent facilities! They were super helpful and nice!

Charming hotel, friendly management, lovely peaceful location, excellent dinner/breakfast.

It felt like being a guest of a very very friendly japanese family :) the food was delicious and Mitake San is a perfect spot to hike. I am definetly coming back🤗
