HFH is in the tourist area of Thamel but everything you need is nearby and taxis are always available and reasonably priced. The room was spacious and comfortable. There were a few little issues but they are renovating and fixing these. Breakfasts were good but best of all was the staff. They were polite, friendly and eager to help. I would stay there again in a heartbeat 💓
Current renovations are taking care of the few (very few!) minor problems.

The hotel was really nice , quiet, clean,well trained staff,good breakfast, clean ,elegant bed and clean linens and towels.
The room air conditioning worked very well and the hot shower was superb.
The hotel rate was affordable .
It was valued for every cent.
I highly recommend to my friends and family and if I come back to
kathmandu definitely I will stay this property.

I had a really nice stay at hotel friends home.
The hotel room was specious ,quiet,clean and peaceful.
The breakfast was delicious and quality food.
If you would like to see the Kathmandu view then you can go to their rooftop garden where you can see the city 🏙️ view.
They do serve food in the rooftop too.

Hotel is very comfortable and very clean .
The power socket is near to bed 🛌 which make us easy to charge cell phone and work easily.
The room lines was clean and furniture was elegant.
The hotel staff were professional and well groomed.
They were always willing to assist .

Strategic location in the city
Room adequate, all that I needed for a few days.
There was even hot water in the bathroom
Despite absence of an elevator, there were enough staff members ready to assist to take my luggage to the fourth floor

We loved the location and staff at Hotel Friends Home. The hotel is on a quieter street in Thamel within walking distance of tons of restaurants and shops as well as Durbar Square. Everyone was very friendly and helpful providing assistance getting taxis and advice on where to go. The room was clean and comfortable. The food at the hotel was also very good.
The AC unit could have been a little stronger. The bed was comfortable enough to fall asleep but didn't provide much support and by the morning I had a sore back.

it’s a wonderful hotel located in the quiet street .
The room was sunny and spacious,hot and cold water pressure was superb and the air conditioning heating system was also really good works .
We had a breakfast which was healthy and delicious . The hotel staff were well groomed and professionally and always attentive to assist their guest.
The housekeeping service available every day .
The best part of the hotel also spotless entirely hotel and service.
I highly recommended everyone who are seeking for best services at lowest rate in Kathmandu.

House, wifi and location are pretty fine.
Be careful with the staff when you arrange bus/taxis.In one case I was overcharged by the manager regarding a bus (he charged 1000Rs and said that these are the actual costs of the bus ticket in the bus, too, but in the bus people paid 900Rs) and in one case one staff receptionist tried regarding a taxi to overcharge me (he said "I paid your taxi " and asked for 1000 Rs and taxidriver asked outside only for 700Rs). Furthermore the same manager (as above) tried to convince me to cancel two further night bookings with booking.com and pay directly a lower price to the hotel which I denied. While after my travel, I received no-show inquiries by booking.com (based on the info by the hotel that I did not show up) despite I showed up. And do not trust that they are really at the reception early morning (when you leave), despite that they indicated to be there. It is not about the money, but about honesty and trust.

I like the location of the Hotel, it is in Thamel, close to the important roads for shopping, but in a calm part in the east. On the other hand, there was a lot of construction there this year. The hotel is in comparison not expensive. Seems to be modern and has that rooftop. They convinced me to take not the cheapest room, I took a more expensive one, where the view was nice, feeling open. Better than the closed, small rooms. The young part of the personnel is quite nice. They are easy on going to trekking, I got a room when returning, just by whatsapp. It was the family room, but for a good price.
Despite modern look, the hotel is quite old, and in many aspects outdated. For example none of the sockets were working for charging. TV is working, but difficult to find out how it is working. In the shower, water pressure and temperature was low. Except in busy mornings, when the gas is switching really on for all the people having shower. One day I did not get shampoo. I had to shower in the dark, because light in the bathroom was sometimes working, sometimes not. (No, I did not forget to put my keys in the holder, and AC and TV was on). Management personnel is not so nice, they are just very business oriented. For example the socket in the bath they did not fix, because I do not need it. The bathroom light they did not fix, because that is probably not easy.

Large clean rooms with good working air conditioning.
The bathroom was clean and staff welcomed you on arrival with welcome drinks.
The internet is very fast and the hot and cold water running 24/7.
The hotel location is convenient to go anywhere like tourist spots as well as Restaurants and it was very quiet too.
We appreciated the hotel service.
