We loved our stay at Hotel el Geranio and we hated to leave! The staff were sincerely kind and helpful and the property is beautiful, especially the gardens and views of the city/mountains. There were chairs outside of our room to relax and soak in the mountain air and scenary. The room we stayed in was spacious and the bathroom was large and clean - zero complaints! Each morning we looked forward to breakfast in the breakfast room - eggs, fresh juices, coffee, tea, fruit, rolls...a dream! Fortunately we stayed at the property over the weekend when the Otavalo market was at its finest - wow, it did not disappoint! The property is within easy walking distance to everything essential in the city and catching a taxi is as easy as walking out the front gate and flagging one down. This hotel is a must if you're in Otavalo! Thank you, Hotel el Geranio!

This hotel is conveniently located close to the market in Otavalo. They serve a wonderful breakfast, provide laundry service if required and they also arranged tours for us. The staff was very friendly and always had a smile, we felt like family here.

The rooms were a bit small- nowhere to sit. But we were able to use the dining area to sit and sip beer so that was a bonus. Also, the view from the upper level is not great - a brick wall and parking lot but this did not effect our stay. I would book here again.

We had a great stay at El Geranio. The hosts are very friendly and prepared us with information about Otavalo and the surroundings. The market is just in walking distance. Big and comfy room, perfect breakfast - and on the last day we even got breakfast-to-go at 6 am for the bus ride.

The WI-FI did not always work in the room, but everywhere else.

New and very clean rooms and bathroom, with a view of the volcano! Nice small garden, good restaurant with fast and friendly staff. Within walking distance of everything.

Upon asking, they were able to give us a lot of information about tourist destinations and we were allowed to fill up out water bottles in thr restaurant. In addition, the location is great.

The wifi connection in the hotel room (room 207, July 2022): The room we booked was supposed to have a fast wifi connection but we were barely able to connect. For acceptable wifi, we had to leave the room.

Staff was very helpful and accommodating. They even lent us 2 iphone charges. Without them, my kids would have been very upset. Breakfast was delicious. The hotel was not much to look at from the outside, but from the inside, it was very beautiful and clean.

Arriving at night, the location from the outside looked sketchy. However, in retrospect, it's no different from how all other streets looked at night.

Higly recommended accomodation in Otavalo.

Great hotel. We stayed there 2 weeks during the strike. Jannet and the family gave us the best service and beyond. The facilities are the best too. Very comfortable room and bed. Hot water all the time. Very very clean. If you care about wifi in the room ask for a room close to the router. If you need a friend and guide who speaks english you have Jannet💖
