Beautiful setting and super accommodating hosts - it was a shame we didn’t get there earlier

loved everything about it! large bed was comfortable, spacious, child upstairs so made it feel like separate room, shower was amazing and a good size, would stay again if we ever return to Akaroa!
only suggestion I can think of is a night light option for child(ren) upstairs as our child didn’t feel comfortable sleeping without a lamp on, as he was scared of the dark and worried of falling down the stairs if he needed to go to the toilet at night.

The location was stunning, such pretty views. amenities were fantastic, cabins were cute and cozy, kitchen and lodge were great. 10/10!!!

The beautiful peaceful location with a great view after our three days of hiking the Banks Track was perfect. What was exceptional was the support and help provided by the owners when I had a car problem due to a bit of a prang. Dave could not have been more helpful and kind and went out of his way to ensure we could still get around and helped us get back home when the car was found to be unsafe to drive. Thank you for going above and beyond to help us - we loved our short stay at Mount Vernon Lodge.

scenic view. Clean shared kitchen. Not busy. The staff were thoughtful to keep the two lodging groups ( us and another family) rather than putting the us in rooms side by side.

Lovely location, great accommodation . Friendly staff
Slight problem with getting hot water to go but sorted by openning closing tap couple times to get water to work. No issue really at all.

Very inviting and comfortable. Fireplace was prepared with kindling and wood, which made for an even more comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend staying at this property if you're wanting a weekend away with your loved one.

The view and grounds were wonderful. Shared kitchen facilities were extensive and spotless. Loved the fire pit. Outside area was great for being sociable.
The bathroom was very small and access to upstairs was not suitable for young children. Some warning about the narrow, steep, long driveway would have been good, too. It was challenging and tense driving up and down at night time.

The peace and tranquility. The view. The bellbirds and kereru. Plus, I was there by myself for my first night. No other people in sight. I felt like I was in paradise.
The road in and out was a bit narrow and steep. I would hate to use that road in the busy season!

Peaceful surroundings with gorgeous birdlife all around. The cottage had everything you could need. Was lovely that the heaters were on when we arrived and was nice and cosy.

Apartment with a sea view was beautifully clean and modern with a fantastic view from the deck. Great kitchen and bathroom, crisp clean beautiful bedding. Stunning location. Apartment with a sea view backs on to reception but very minimal notice of quests checking in and out etc

The location was absolutely stunning. The accommodation exceeded what I thought I booked so that was a bonus.

Awesome location, like a hidden quite & peaceful resort. Beautiful common area with a big fireplace.

The view is beautiful and the lodges are so cute! Access to the kitchen, fire pit & BBQ was a definite bonus and I can imagine this being great for groups. It was super clean and cosy. We made friends with a cat which we have named Jaffa and we saw what we think was a possum late at night! It smells amazing up there and at night it's SO quiet which is a shock coming from the city but so nice.
The WiFi was kinda patchy and didn't work great in the room, we had to go to the kitchen/fire area to get better signal but it kept losing connection even there. This is a minor problem and I'm sure lots of people go there to switch off anyway :)
