Location was great very close to a lovely village and beach. You do need a car for sure. Got lovely fresh eggs from the hens and had bread for us as well which was a nice touch.

Like most things the kitchen could be stocked better as when you have children you make food for them more and the hours of restaurant didn’t suit the youngest. Would have prefer a microwave oven rather than a small oven there. I’m sure if we asked we would have got the stuff we needed but we survived with what we had. Be nice if they Surplies beach towels as well as pool towels as we had to buy some and be nice to have pool toys etc fir the kids again we bought them and left them there so hopefully other children will use them.

Pure joy to be immersed in such beauty. We were enchanted with every aspect of the cortijo and its surroundings. It’s amazing just how much exquisite taste and talent is packed into the small person of Charo, who created this wonderful place from scratch. Bravo and thank you for sharing!

Although we much enjoyed exploring the region, we found ourselves longing to get home to the peace and tranquility of the Cortijo La Joya.

Stunning place!

It is away from the main areas, thus quiet.

Absolutely unique...loved the location and the many places you could relax throughout the grounds. The pool and setting were divine. Felt very safe with all the covid19 precautions in place. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

The natural surrounding is delightful, almost Californian/.Mexican. The house we slept in had a gorgeous Hacienda and warm interior. Every aspect was above expectations. The help for restauranttips, the service, even the aibility to help harvesting the olives from the trees: all was stunning. The gorgeous pool looks out over a totally empty and quite canyon. Cabo de Gata is a nature area with great coves and ideal for walking.

It's no real dealbreaker, but since you are in a natural and farm-like area there might be some flies around. Everything else was really wonderful. The location is also great, near charming village Agua Amarga with delicious restaurants

An incredible piece of heaven for some quiet time away. Beautifully designed, quirky house and art filled gardens. Loved relaxing in the pool with amazing views of Cabo de Gata Natural Park. Charo will even deliver you her home made dishes and great wines for dinner!
