the decor and layout of the apartment was amazing. The private balcony sea view was so beautiful. The location was very private but also close to restaurants and shops. The Hosts were kind and helpful and made us feel welcomed.
we loved every moment

Great location right by the city wall facing the sea and not far from the main gate. The interior of the house is very charming and enough rooms and beds for 4 persons.
Only one bathroom for 4 persons is not convenient. Communication is not always easy as one staff doesn't speak English.

location was perfect, very quiet away from the Main Street and a beautiful view

The hostess, Mrs Despoina, was incredibly kind and waited for us as we arrived late at midnight. She helped us with our bags and made sure we had everything we needed. The hotel is in a great location, close to the gate, so you don't have to walk a lot carrying stuff. The room is very traditional, but at the same time, super comfortable and has a balcony with a beautiful view of the sea.
Everything was great

This is a very unique type of accommodation built into an ancient castle. Tasteful decor and comfortable room although the bed was a bit soft for our tastes. We were not sure about visiting here as it sounded quite touristy and it was but very beautiful nonetheless and not that crowded in mid May. However if you have mobility limitations this is probably not the place for you as the paths are slippery rocks and the rooms are multi level with steep narrow stairs. We are 76 and 67 and in reasonable shape so it was not a problem but certainly could be for others.
The bathroom was very tiny with a toilet and sink in one room and a tiny shower opening right into the hall. Not ideal but I'm sure there are very strict limitations on how they can renovate. All the rooms are different and our travel companions had a room with a huge bathroom.

What an unforgettable experience to stay right inside the castle walls! Huge loft-like room, furnished with quality and care, very well maintained. We visited off-season and found parking easily along the road about 100 meters from the castle when we arrived around 15:30.
As one might expect from a place in an old castle town, the small windows provided very limited daylight and the room while very spacious felt a bit like a cellar. Also, while charming, the uneven cobblestone streets and stairs can be challenging especially if you have lots of luggage. Tip: look for signs to the hotel to the right immediately after the entrance.

Unique once in a lifetime, live in the fortress of a city as was done in 600's AD. Christmas /New Years week was the perfect time to visit and enjoy every nook and cranny of this castle. Ardamis has a few steps in each unit, just know that, it is part of the original fortress village design. We ate and shopped in the walls and enjoyed buying a bottle of wine for enjoyment on the perches and patios of Ardamis. The owners are super sweet. Can't say enough, hope to return!
Perhaps the walkways are slippery if it rains, I don't know. Late dec we found only blue sunny skies.

This was perhaps the most unique place I've stayed in - in the most positive way possible. Our "room" was entered through a doorway that was no more than about 1.5 meters high. Once through, you could go up to a loft bedroom, or down to the living room, then left to the dining/kitchen area or straight out the back onto the porch area. Beyond the dining/kitchen was another set of stairs leading up to the second bedroom. Oh, and if you went right in the living room, you could go down further into a sauna. The lighting was a total riot - you had a remote control with about 4000 settings (maybe I'm exaggerating a bit), each of which controlled a light somewhere in the apartment. Being a half basement, the natural lighting was minimal, but there was more than enough lighting to make up for it.
The town is car free, with no parking immediately outside the city walls, so it was about 1.5 kilometers to the nearest parking. You can park along the road along the edge of the island which leads to the main gate, but finding a place is extremely difficult. However, when you call the property, they will have someone meet you at the main town gate (you can unload here) with a Monemvasia transport (read: wheelbarrow) to haul your luggage for you. Do it!
The internet in the room was extremely spotty, which I suppose is to be expected when you are in a stone building, but they could have added some additional hotspots. We ended up sitting on the terrace to get a steady connection. Since the terrace is shared by several apartments, we could hear the "activities" going on in them when sitting outside.

Great character apartment with private terrace and shade from sun. Super location.
We found some of the art a bit creepy! (Clown at end of bed and ghostly figure of headless girl in dress)

Big apartment with a beautiful balcony overseeing the town roofs and sea.
The bedroom on the second floor of the apartment was huge, beautifully lit and very comfortable.
Excellent location.

A wonderful place with a spectacular ocean view. It was possible to jump in the ocean from the rocks a few meters from your door.

The location is nice with some rooms having view on the sea and terasses with nice jasmin or bougainvilliers.
The furniture has been carefully chosen and raw material are of quality.

Absolutely lovely! Our room was a whole suite that opened up right onto an unobstructed waterfront view. The family that runs the place is super friendly and accommodating. And Monemvasia is truly a dream.
