Extremely good value for money, very pleasant stuff, good cousine, great facility (also for children). Very good breakfast and cappuccino - incredible to say - from an electronic coffee machine Made in Switzerland.

Couldn't work the coffee machine and no instructions and we arrived late it was difficult to ask for help. Needed some instructions in the room

Room had the best view, everything you want to wake up to when at the alps. The dinner menu is good , their breakfast is a bit limited based on the price but all the staff are extremely nice and helpful.

Everything was very good, clean and friendly. The room had a balcony with a great view west towards the hills and church. Nice coffee in the room. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. We often attend the monthly Sunday dance at this hotel, but had never stayed overnight. This time we decided to travel by train and bus and stay overnight. There is an hourly bus from Schwartzach station; and it is an easy 25 min walk back downhill. The Natur Schwimmbad in St Veit is well worth a visit (and only €2!)

The toilet is separate from the bathroom - this is a bad unhygenic idea, especially when there is no hand basin with the toilet.

Beautiful, very stylish hotel, in the center of a lovely little village. The staff was very nice and helpful. The dinner was a culinary experience, breakfast offered a rich choice.

The wifi in the room was very, very weak.

Really amazing hotel and I like its location! I like that it offered both breakfast and dinner and it was really a high quality. I like the format of the dinner where you can eat at their hotel and choose anything from the menu to have it included in the price. The rooms were really good, high-quality and with a lot of options and a nice view.

There were constantly flies in the hotel on breakfast and dinner and they were quite distracting because you had to constantly shoo them away. I also didn't really manage to turn on the AC, but that wasn't critical for me because it wasn't too hot.

Bad service, no customer attention. I arrived by motorbike and noticed the garage reserved for motorcycles, I open it but it was entirely occupied by the hotel mini-van. I go to the reception and there is no one, the guy from the bar comes and tells me that if I want he will ask the owner to move the mini-van, but only very late. I dicided to park outside, on the street. The hotel has many rooms but few customers (the next morning there were no more than 10 people for breakfast) and they give me a room above the bar and above the hotel entrance. Dinner was served on the outdoor terrace because the restaurant was entirely occupied by a large group of people, including many young boys. Dinner not bad, with a typically Austrian menu, but still everything good. The problem is that when the boys went out to smoke they where all around my table and many leaned on it without a minimum of education. I mentioned this to the waiter, but he didn't even listen to me, at the end we finished dinner and left quickly. But the worst thing is that I couldn't sleep until 3:00 at night: right in front of the hotel there is another Gasthof and a group of drunk people kept shouting until 2:00, then the hotel bar under my room started to play very loud disco music for the group of guys in the restaurant, who cackled late and just at 2:30 they started playing football with empty cans on the asphalt. Impossible to sleep and too hot in the room for closing the window. And the next day I had a 500 km transfer by motorbike. From when I arrived to when I went to sleep, the hotel reception was never manned and in fact, I tried to call the reception several times to ask if they could at least turn down the music, but no one ever answered. The Metzgerwirt Hotel should be a 4-star hotel, but I have never experienced these horrors, not even in a 2-star hotel. This was probably the worst stay I have had in many years in Austria, completely rejected!

amazing buffet. dinner was exceptional. great location, lovely views. waiters on 12.06 and the ladies at reception on 12.06 and 13.06 were super friendly and nice. spa hotel concept is great! hotel is clean, modern and fantastic. every touch is just exceptional.

lady at breakfast on 13.06 could be more welcoming. yes, she brought everything, but a small smile can add charm

Fantastic location, modern contemporary styling, amazing breakfast selection with a huge choice of fresh high quality ingredients! The attention to detail by the staff was also exceptional! I only ate in the restaurant one time but the food was also very high quality and well presented.

I had a queen room and it was quite roomy. The food was excellent in the restaurant!

The location is perfect when visiting St. Veit. The breakfast is exceptional, being one of the best breakfast buffets that I’ve experienced in my travels. One evening there was a wedding at the hotel with traditional dress, music and customs which only enhanced my Austrian alpine experience.

The beds were a bit hard and additional pillows would have been appreciated.
