Room was clean, tidy and spacious.
We didn't stay in the actual church (our room was in next building), but were allowed to visit it. It was beautiful.

location and charm

The old style in an original ancient house, situated inside the old town, directly on the town wall was beautiful and special. The hotel is small with only a handful of rooms. So it's never overcrowded. And the staff was kind and friendly. The breakfast tasty and enough.
For a longer stay the breakfast could be a bit more deversified.

the experience to sleep in a transformed old church is really interesting.
Staff very helpful and friendly.
in the church building there is no reception nor breakfast (you have to walk 100m to the main building).
You have dust everywhere even inside the rooms and the heating system was not working.

Exquisite interior of a former Portuguese church dating from 1700s. Imagine staying in a museum. Wow, really a great place to be.
I liked the cuisine and very friendly and helpful staff.
The hotel is located in the Medina next to city walls with spectacular views of the ocean.
I can only recommend this hotel.
I can’t find any negative sides to this place, except perhaps some rather noisy kids playing football till late at night outside the hotel.

lovely staff
a bit noisy at night because of the square

I was concerned at first that the hotel was located within the Portuguese Centre, but this made it even more charming. The staff were lovely, the breakfast and dinner were excellent - I would recommend the fish! Our room was simple but adequate and we enjoyed our stay.
The bed was a little hard for me, but that was all.

Cool hotel with great staff! Food was good. Great location to explore the old city of El Jadida.

Central location and excellent service
Would like a mirror in bedroom near a plug socket for drying hair.

Booked and paid for 2 rooms . It was a cold new years' eve with 5 degrees C at night . Asked for a heater during diner ard 22h00 since they the rooms were supposed to be equipped with one. Was told that they will bring it right away. Called the reception again at 23h30. The heaters were still on the way. Called at 00h10. All the staff has left and only the security guy was left. He was nice enough to let me have his but it was more for a bathroom than a suit. Froze our butts til the morning. A pitty !!

Nothing
We were housed in an annex out of sight of the hotel tho not too far away. Starting at 10 pm a crowd of angry men gathered in the ill lit square just under our windows and until after 2 am shouted, argued and threatened. We were two women alone, mother and daughter, and we are well traveled but were realistically afraid for our safety. We couldn’t get dinner because we couldn’t reach the hotel after dark - Fodors having recommended that women not venture out alone after dark, and as it turned out, for very good reason. When we woke up, we discovered we had been locked in for our safety w a 10-12 foot high pair of wrought iron gates bolted to the floor inside the wooden door to the building, and a very large shutter hook sort of arrangement was bolted to the wall and held the wooden doors shut. We had difficulty getting out and a fire emergency would have been disastrous.
Fodors is irresponsible to recommend this hotel without specifying that one should o lu stay in the hotel itself.
In addition, the so called world heritage site of the old Portuguese city has almost nothing to offer. It is a small, filthy, very poor little neighborhood with no redeeming features despite the old fortress walls which are catch basins for plastic trash and worse.
This hotel is to be avoided.
