Mirador Prendas was an incredible experience….. owner has built a magical destination. The service and good were outstanding. Nixon coordinates service and was attentive and fun to be around.
You have to go over a couple narrow bridges to get there. Made me very nervous first time, not a problem after first time.

a fantastic place in backcountry nature. very friendly hosts. Nick was exceptional, we felt very welcome!

The location is very remote but worth it. Waking up to the sound of birds and nature was amazing. The staff is also super friendly and accomodating and the view is unbeatable.
The road to get there is really bumpy so you are a bit stuck there. We have young kids and they were happy but also going around in circles at times, there are lots of stairs as well so it was a bit tiring. Also we didn't see that much wildlife in the end.

Amazing view, the place is ideal if you want to observe birds.
People were very kind with us. Dinner and breakfast were good.
Better to have a 4x4 to go there.

Super friendly staff and amazing hostel. You feel like you're in an another world. The hostel is rather remotely located but definitely worth the effort 👌

The hotel is so original! The rooms are very beautiful, all made with wood. The location is amazing, surrounded by nature. The panorama is incredible from the roof. The staff is so kind and the food (breakfast and diner) is good. We loved our stay !
It is a remote place and the facilities can be basics but functionals

Jungle castle with amazing wood work inside. Facility with mosquito net on the bed excellent for mosquito free sleep. Loud tropical sounds of beetles, birds, and occasionally other mammals, such as boar. Meal facility amazing. Zipline is on-site. Multiple activity, relatively cheaper than La Fortuna tourist region, and easily arranged by staff
Spotty wifi coverage and lengthy unpaved roads

We had a fantastic stay at Mirador Prendas. The view from the outlook was exceptional. We saw many types of birds, including the rare great green macaw. Loved the views, the food, the friendly staff and the walk to the waterfall.

Lovely Costa Rican Family ranch. Very creative and artistic architecture, but rustic. Food was typical CR home cooking. Remote hilltop with great view and BIRDS! Room was large, open, treehouse-like. Get up with birds! (They will not let you sleep) Hike to waterfall on property. Few other guests. Not touristy.
Use Maps.me We traveled there in a regular car over unpaved road on a dry day and it was long and slow but through lovely countryside. 4 wheel better/necessary in rain. Don’t expect hotel amenities but staff eager to provide what you need. Too far for day trips but hike in surrounding area, relax and bird watch.

It’s a challenging drive

It is in a very pretty and isolated location right under the mountains. There is a lot of nature and you are surrounded by beautiful views. The property itself is very neat, it is essentially a giant tree house that has a very unique design and lots of art.
The property is approximately 20 to 25 minutes away from the main road on a very bumpy and gravel road. Once you arrive at the property, you basically are there to stay because of how remote and isolated it is. Though this is the benefit at staying at a location like this, it was uncomfortable and difficult to feel relaxed, which took away from the desirability of being secluded. Even before we arrived the staff was trying to make us make dinner reservations, even though the kitchen was not closing until a couple hours after our arrival. The staff was pushy, particularly with payment and it was bizarre because we were the only people there other than one other family. While we were in the middle of our meal we were interrupted to make the payments for dinner/breakfast. The property does not provide a common kitchen area, standard in most hostel areas, essentially forcing you to have to purchase the meal services provided at the site. Unfortunately, the food on site was very sub par (ie-frozen vegetables steamed in a microwave, frozen French fries deep fried, jello) and incredibly overpriced. For two dinners and two breakfasts the total was $44 USD, which felt like an incredible waste of money for the quality of food and lack of alternatives. Notably, the breakfast was one egg, and a couple pieces of toast and when I asked for a second cup of coffee, I was told no. The bed there was incredibly uncomfortable, hands-down the most uncomfortable mattress we slept on while being in Costa Rica. You could literally feel each spring and what was supposed to be a sheet on the bed was a bed skirt. Despite the property being nearly empty, we were placed in a room that only had cold water and asked, “is that going to be a problem?

there is a good chef for a proper meal, and the breakfast is also perfect. the price-quality is good. this is a very good lodge to stay for backpackers!
for real, we where with just the 2 of us. it was pretty cool but a few more other guests would be more relaxt. this location earns more guests if you aks me!

We really appreciated the mirador atmosphere and spirit, the nice paintings and wood sculptures, waking up early with the amazing view on the forest with plenty of birds flying around us

This place is at the heart of the jungle. The people working there are amazing. There is a guy named Nikolas, he is really nice and showed us around and we talked about the surroundings.
The path to this hotel is very rugged. Don't go there without a 4x4. I drove at night which was another big mistake as there are two hanging bridges on the way which were super scary at night.

Breakfast was amazing! Loved the lookout tower and the location was absolutely incredible for birds, wish we had more time there! Right down the road from Mirador Prendas was Las Arrieras our guide for that location was David Segura. Very very highly recommend both Mirador Prendas for your stay and David for your guide to birds and nature!
It was PERFECT! Wonderful staff and food, even able to watch some football on the TV during dinner!

The food could be better.

In the middle of jungle with great views around. Nice architecture of building and life with nature, including jungle bees. Loud monkeys wake up in the morning.
Information about restaurant at location. Place to cool drinks - no refrigerators in the rooms.

What is this amazing place???? In the middle of nowhere deep in the rain forest. We where woke up by toucans, green parrots, monkeys, and other. The trails are amazing, food pretty good, the building amazing and Rachal was the perfect host. We stayed only one night and should have book 2 or 3. Lot of activities, lot of local guides, lot of fun to have here.
