We loved staying at La Borma di Pombo on our hike on the AV2. It was only a little bit off the track but well worth the effort. The place was amazing with wonderful views of the valley. We had a lovely apartment with a huge king size bed with a bathroom and kitchen (shared with only one other person). We brought some food with us from Chardonney and had a lovely picnic dinner. The friendly host provided breakfast and made sure the tea was very hot. We are from Australia and had no trouble communicating with google translation. We would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Lovely view, in the middle of the mountains, fresh mountain air. It's great if you look for a more remote quiet place in nature. Also the owner Flaviano is very friendly. He also taught me a bit of Italian.

My last night the upstairs neighbour's were noisy until late. But I suppose the owner cannot do much about this.

The place was just amazing. Very friendly and cute old couple. They do not speak English but they do not bother themselves and they are very talkative :) The price included the breakfast: fresh pastries, butter, jam, chestnut, tea and coffee. And the history of a proud family - for free ;) The area is surrounded by green mountains. There are lots of animals such as dogs, cats, donkeys and horses in the backyard. Lovely little family business.

I liked everything, maybe a small thing I would mention: it is a little difficult to find the property because there's a private road leading to the house hiding in the woods and you need to make a U-turn from the main road. It makes hard to find in the dark (if you arrive after sunset like us :) )
