In fact, there are two sister hotels, through Booking.com you are booking at Speranza Au Lac, not Milan Au Lac (which is more luxury). Location is perfect and having our room facing the lake was amazing! The views from the lake view rooms are gorgeous. It was great that the hotel offers free parking at the nearby location (and its covered!), you have to walk there few blocks but it was not a problem for us.

When you check in, the reception tries to give out rooms on the worst 6th floor first. 6th floor is under the roof that heats up like crazy and their poor AC cannot make it bearable even if it works the whole day. We could not sleep the first night so asked to change rooms the next day. We were not the only ones doing so. Also the elevator goes up only to 5th floor, you need to take stairs from there. If they give you 6th floor, ask for a lower floor when it's hot. Additionally, our room on 6th floor had awful smell from the toilet, we had to keep the lid closed at all times as well as the toilet door to minimize the smell in the bed area. Fortunately, we moved to the other room next day. The toilet in our room on 2nd floor was better but still the sewage smell was present. AC in rooms is turned off centrally on schedule, the reception told us. They turn it off at 9am and put back on at 6pm. If you need it during that time, you have to go down and ask for it to be turned on. The breakfast was really just okay. And the bed and pillows were not really comfortable. In general, the hotel felt more like a 3-star probably.

Only the cleanliness was satisfactory all other are awful.

The hotel, the staff, senior management and the way they behaved when we were informing them about our unsatisfactory about the hotel room and the service. We will think twice before we book through your website in future because the hotel staff said it's a mistake that booking.com has made as they have entered the wrong pictures of the hotel. Hotel has given the proper pictures to publish in your Website.

The beauty of the view, the terrace, the wonderful staff of the restaurant and hotel. They were very helpful and charming! The meals were lovely! I loved being able to use the pool at the nearby hotel. The staff there were amazing!

Rooms, beds and bathrooms need maintenance and upgrades.

I book two nights and in the first room I got the AC did not cool. I told the reception but they insisted it did, so I had to spend a night in a very hot room. Next day I asked for a new room and got it on 3th floor. The other room was on 6th floor. When I paid for the stay, I asked for a reduction I price for the first night but did not get it. The managers explanation was that 6 th floor was warm because the heat was rising not because the AC wasn’t working. If you believe the manager don’t book 6th floor on warm days.

The location was great for the water taxi and ferry trips. Easy walking to lots of restaurants.

We booked a double room with a lake view. We did get the view, but not the large double bed that we were supposed to have. Only twins beds, made up as twin beds and pushed together. The breakfast room in the Sperenza is not as good as the one in the Milan. It has a much better view, you can watch the world go past.

The staff is very nice, the rooms are good and very clean. The restaurant is excellent for the breakfast and exceptional for dinner. The view (lake view room) is gorgeous and the balcony is very handy. The hotel is split into two buildings, ours had 2 elevators (dont know about the other building). The location of the hotel is on the pedestrian area but outside the ZTL, which is absolutely perfect!

The hotel does not have a parking space of its own, instead it has an arrangement with the Regina palace parking. It is OK, but it is far from the hotel. You can, however, park your car next to the hotel to drop your luggage and check in/out and then move the car to the parking spot. Our balcony was full of spider webs, it seems like it's been a while sine someone cleaned it.
