This is a grand building in every sense of the word. It is a bit 'tired' and in need of updating in places. But the rooms are very good, huge beds and very good bathrooms. Bar snacks are very good and reasonably priced. The inner sitting area is very comfortable and is a very large space with a stunning glass panelled ceiling. Car parking on site for a charge but very secure and convenient. The price of this hotel makes it very good value and feel a bit special. it is located very close to the main shopping area of Oviedo and about a 10 min walk to the old town across the beautiful San Francisco park.

Some of the furniture is a bit worn and the American Bar, while pleasant, feels like it could do with a renovation.

Great location, fantastic architecture, great breakfast.

Management was questionable. I was ‘upgraded’ to a room that faced off into the inner patio where the hotel was hosting a wedding until 2:30am.

great building, amazing courtyard, great furnishings. reception so friendly

our balcony was in the corner with an occluded view of the courtyard. the wooden balcony y floor was rotten in places with a big hole in it so unsafe. we asked for milk in our room for drinks twice. it never came. we gave up.

The restaurant, which has a limited menu, seems to be in a temporary location in a meeting room.

Room is spacious and the service is exceptional. Parking place has ample room. Location is outstanding - right at the centre. The facilities are excellent. The central lounge is an ideal place to have a quick drink ion the evening before dinner. The hotel is renovated with modern amenities, but has retained the old palatial charm. Loved the stay.

The room temperature at night kept changing making the room a bit too warm for my liking - I fixed it by switching off AC and keeping window partially open at night

The sense of space was fantastic, the courtyards and facade were lovely. The location was great for visiting the historic city, getting to the train station.

A/C was turned off, water temperature irregular, spotty/poor internet. Definitively very far from the 5 star rating

We had booked a double room and were upgraded to a large suite. We thanked the staff at reception on our way out to dinner and said it was especially welcome as it was our wedding anniversary. Upon our return we found a bottle of fizz, chocolates and strawberries in our sitting room

An exceptional building with a rich history. Magnificent structure in a great location.

Needs some mild improvement in decor but that really doesn’t matter
