nice breakfast on the roof with volcano views, the lady running the place speaks good English and is really friendly and helpful

the room is on a noisy and polluted road, with trucks and motorbikes going by all night

We had amazing stay in Casa Familiar, the whole family is lovely and you feel the good vibe from them. Very tasty breakfast and the tour to the volcano organized perfectly. I recommend this place 100%.

Everything. The host Ana is amazing and the atmosphere of the place is really nice. You are staying in their family home and welcomed to enjoy it. The included breakfast is incredible (even more so when considering the price) and you eat on the rooftop with a view of Fuego erupting in the distance. The room is basic and a little noisy from the road, but it really didn’t matter as we loved the place. Ana also arranged our Acatenango hike for a great price and our next shuttle to Atitlan.

The only thing to note is that the bedroom curtain is very thin, so it’s bright in the morning. Generally more suited for people getting out and about in Antigua rather than having late nights

A bit noisy and busy street

Very helpful and friendly staff. Location near Centro. Rooms clean. Nice terrace and yum breakfast. They help you with tours and they have one of the best prices to Vulcano Atetenango.

Friendly family place with small rooms and roof terrace. The terrace with view on the volcanos is the highlight. Breakfast is also good and changes from day to day.

Location is 10min walking distance from center and located directly at a very noise street. If you are looking for a low budget stay outside of a hostel then you are have found the right spot.

Ana is a super friendly host, the breakfast was very good, there is laundry service and water refill and the roof terrace is absolutely amazing! (watching Fuego erupt in the evening was one of the coolest experiences in Guatemala) It‘s clean, safe and has a lot of cool plants around.

Some of the rooms (except the family room) face the main road so there is a lot of noise from the traffic (we knew that from the recessions though). The location is a bit outside the center but if you are willing to walk 15min it‘s not a problem.

it is quite noisy because it’s next to a road the curtains do not make the room fully dark at all quite a walk from the main square (15-20 minutes)

Ana is extremely helpful. We asked for many things and she helped us with everything, it's very clean, we saw the volcano explode during breakfast and it is very comfortable

Had a very enjoyable few days at Casa Familiar. The breakfasts were tasty. The views from the rooftop are magical. Comfortable sized rooms and bed. Good shower. All the family were lovely too.

The street is very close to some of the rooms, so it‘s pretty loud. But to be fair, it‘s like this almost everywhere in Antigua

Ana and her family are super nice and friendly. The view from the terrace and the breakfast are super good. The Acatenango tour that is offered through the hostel is also super nice and cheap in comparison to the other companies.

only downside is that you can‘t use the kitchen

it felt so homey, the hostess was also great. it’s about a 15 minute walk to el centro but I didn’t mind

The breakfast on the rooftop was very special because you could see volcan de fuego erupting quite regularly. By night you could even see it spit lava!

it is extremely loud in our room with its windows to the main street. it was impossible to sleep longer than 6am in the morning, for shallow sleepers, the traffic all night could cost you valuable hours of sleep.

staff is really nice and helpful! we loved the roof terrace and the breakfast was very very tasty and fresh every morning.

it is a bit outside the centre but that means it is quiet too! the shower was extremely low so we had to bend to shower.
