The house was absolutely stunning. It was perfectly presented and immaculately clean. The owner was brilliant with communication. Location was brilliant.

To echo other reviews. Needs TLC. A weekend repainting. Rehanging curtains, putting wallpaper back up. Checking cleaning is up to scratch. Give the massive wooden staircase a good wood polish! This property needs some loving.

The property was comfortable and convenient for our stay.

A dishwasher would be great although it wasn't an issue for my son and I, larger groups might prefer one.

Grand house with spacious rooms and quirky decor - each room has a subtle theme and feels very homely. 1 bathroom with toilet, beautiful roll top bath & separate shower, 1 toilet with sink. Kitchen is very well-equipped - knives, jugs, trays, glasses etc. Easy to park on road in front of house.

Patio / yard was messy, used to store broken chairs / gates etc, meaning we didn’t want to use it. Lock on main door worked but other bolts on front / internal / bathroom doors did not. The house opposite and Colne town is run-down, not a problem if you can drive to nicer towns nearby.

The bath was amazing the quietness of the area and the location of surrounding beauty spots excellent amenities and very clean

There was nothing we didn't like

Shower flooded, kitchen dirty, beds springs digging in you, patio dirty and unkept, sink outside kitchen blocked and smelled, furniture grubby stained and brocken, curtains didnt close properly and stained, no door handles on some of the bedrooms, no lock on bathroom that worked, doors upstairs warped with cracks in, carpets matted with dirt, overall not worth the money or pleasant at all.

The house was so spacious, well presented, comfortable and warm. The bathroom is definitely a show stopper! We just didn't want to leave! The kids loved it!

Great location just minutes from the M65, Sainsburys and petrol half a mile away, nice quiet street with plenty of on street parking. Responsive and helpful host, good strong WiFi for several devices, smart TVs. All worked much better for four generations family celebrating Christmas than a hotel and super value.

Several areas are getting very tired, it's looking worn compared to our stay 2 years ago, in all areas. More seriously water dripping through smoke alarm in kitchen if someone showering upstairs, wobbly balustrade, and annoying screaming kitchen tap. Less annoying but needing attention damp, cracks, peeling wallpaper and lifted lino. Bonus would be light or handrail to steps outside.

I have been to this house before, it has the most beautiful decor and furnishings, the kitchen has lovely pink equipment and a fabulous fidge. The cups are only small so if you like a big brew bring your own. But . The show stopper is the Bath. It's amazing... O I love it 😍

The windows need a wash and the carpet in the living room need a clean. Everything else was fab.

The house is large and very spacious, and the pictures do not so it justice for how much space there is. It is well decorated and keeps many of it's period features. The Lounge is plenty large enough with the most enormous TV and very comfortable sofa's It has a nice dining room which also has a sofa and another TV if members of the party want to watch different things. My partner loved the Bath and spent a lot of time in it. Kitchen is well fitted out with plenty of sufficient cutlery, plates, saucepans, utensils etc. to allow you to cook whatever you need.

Having to leave

I'm in my seventies with mild mobility concerns; the stone steps up to the front door are awkward. I would have appreciated a hand hold somewhere.

Good base to visit Yorkshire Dales/Harrogate/Knaresborough, about 30mins drive away, Plenty of free parking. Spacious accomodation

Keybox is under leaky guttering, got soaked on a rainy day. House needs to be kept a little better Only 1 real sofa bed, the other is just big enough for someone 4ft (maybe, and it was filthy) Decor in some rooms are rather eccentric, i.e spooky black and white photos of unknown families (horror movie?!)

The house is absolutely stunning the owner was fantastic , the property is cleaned just before each visit , and fresh sheets and towels are provided through out, the kitchen has full dishes and and spoons , the WiFi the tv , everything is on point , the beds were comfy , the linen was impeccable, and the decor was so awesome the attention to detail. I would love to know who designed it everything was just so fab I loved my stay, and I will defiantly be coming back. And thanks to the owner and staff that were so nice even though we were late checking out. It’s a lovely little home for a weekend away with friends or family , book this place you won’t be disappointed 😀

Laundry man coming into the property without warning on Monday morning. Owner coming into the property one morning without warning- we thought we had been burgled as the front door was left open when we returned from a walk.

The bath. Oh my goodness me.. it's an experience in itself. My 2nd daughters wedding was the purpose of our stay. We all got ready here in this amazing beautiful home. The decorations and the style of the house was a perfect back drop to the photos of herself, her two boys and my other 2 daughters and I to get ready for this very important day.... The pre wedding photos are fantastic and this house has been commented on so often. It's a really lovely place to relax and spend time with those you love. I would always recommend this is the place to stay for anyone looking for self catering accommodation and space to host a small family gathering.

The yard needed cleaning up. We did a tidy round and sweeping up the mess left. Then decorations were put up by us. Windows and mirrors could have done with a clean.

There was no handle on the inside of the door from the kitchen to the rest of the house, so we got locked in when we shut the door to let a fly out of the back door. Luckily one of our children opened it from the hall. Had to remember to keep it open after that.
