Adelina and Leonardo are very helpful, caring and theyve built a fabulous patio with artistic and functional supports for the wooden sun shade.
Since we met people from all over the globe like a hostel, it would be nice if they had a signin book where people could write their home city and country and comment line. Also a map of the world and where people could put their pin on their city location. All Adelina needs to provide is the signun book and map with pins. The guests can do the rest.
The room had a step down at the entry way and another step up to get into the bathroom. I dont know if that is to meet their code but it would be less of a tripping hazard in the middle of the night if there was no step up to get to the bathroom. Why not eliminate both problem steps and just put a 2 x 4 floor supports with 3/4 inch plywood on top and then flooring for a very inexpensive solution to eliminating both steps? If I lived there I would. Just an idea. Thanks for asking the right question. Retired Air Force Engineer.

Kitchen was great, bed was so comfortable
Town noise of dogs exist; but not at the property

So charming, welcoming, comfortable

Nice garden. Liked parking inside.
Bed was small and my husband is large.

No breakfast was offered. The location was excellent: Easy walk to the waterfront, and the historic center.
It would have been nice if the owners were a bit more pro-active during the two weeks I was there.

the host was very welcoming. The common spaces were big with a well stocked kitchen with microwave. The rooms varied in size, and were well appointed. it was cozy and welcoming
some of the rooms and bathrooms were small.

I was allowed to park my motorcycle inside the property gates.
Lovely, quiet gardens for sitting.
Very close to the Vaquero Museum and café and the excellent El Caballo Blanco bookstore.
Street addresses are non sequential, this property is about 120m further down the road than you would expect.

Rooms matched the photos exactly.
I had the smaller room which was fine, but a weird layout.
My travel partner had the larger room which was nicer and obviously was more spacious.
Wifi was good and fast enough, shower was hot and nice.
The hotel has a garden to sit in with a big bird cage full of budgies. Really nice to look at.
Then neighborhood is quiet and there is a convenience store around the corner.
My smaller room, while perfectly functional, was setup a bit weird. Bed right next to the door and the lightswitch screwed to the headboard and stuff like that.
Lots of mosquitos in the room.

Great staff. Good location. Relaxing environment.
The birds kept on the property could be a bit loud at times.

Location looked nice but was overbooked.
Arrived at property at 9pm to only find out it had been overbooked even though I had paid for my reservation weeks in advance. I had just completed a 12 hour motorcycle ride from Cabo San Lucas through Los Cabos and the last thing I needed was to be stuck outside a dark street calling Booking.com to figure what the fudge had happened. After a 1-hour long phone call with customer service completely wasting my time. They called Casa La Castaneda to validate my booking was indeed overbooked and after they validated the overbooking, they started looking for alternative bookings for me until they realized everything was near triple the original booking price because, well.. it's Easter weekend at 9:30pm at night so of course everything is priced out! Eventually as it gets to 10:00pm, I just give up and ask for my refund. They give me my refund plus a $20 credit same-day use only credit to use at the Booking.com app which was completely useless since there were only 2 hotels available that night on Booking.com and they were at least 3.5x original booking price. Should've slapped me on the face, it would have stung less. So I just end up resort to using Google to book a last minute hotel at a much worse location for 2.5x the price. Moral of the story? I'm sure Casa La Castenada is a great place to stay but if you check-in late, there's a chance they'll assume you're a no a show and sell your booking spot to another person to make an extra profit. My recommendation: Don't drop your pants. People will try to take advantage of you at every opportunity they get.

Grounds were great. Outside kitchen very nice.
Our room was very dark and bed was uncomfortable.

The garden courtyard was exceptional. We were allowed to invite 9 guests for a margarita/guacamole party and they were almost gaga at how nice it was.
The gate entry system was too paranoid to suit me, but if you really like security over function, then....

The woman who works there, Monica, is a very kind person who always greeted me with a smile and made me feel very welcome. She takes good care of the place.
I had a 2nd reservation a week later for 4 days, which I tried to cancel outside of the cancellation window. (My plans had changed.) Because I had already stayed there a whole week, I asked for an exception to the cancellation agreement and was denied. I understand rules are rules, but still... a little kindness goes a long way to a recurring guest. I would not recommend this place because of that.

Leonardo met us with our keys and gave us a tour of the beautiful property. He was very pleasant and
informative. My son and I really liked our room and slept very comfortably. We did not have the breakfast as we
were meeting friends elsewhere and enjoyed that we could easily walk to breakfast through the neighborhood.
Sadly, I became ill while having breakfast and my son went back to Casa Castenada to get our bags and check
out. He had no way of knowing that my Kindle was under the pillow in my bed. After we returned to San Juanico
I contacted Casa Castenada and asked them if I could retrieve my Kindle when I returned to take my son to
the airport. They were waiting for me with the Kindle safely in a plastic bag with my name on it. They are such
lovely people there. Leonardo invited me in and we chatted a little awkwardly with my limited Spanish.
This was my second stay at Casa Castenada and it will be my go-to when in Loreto.

Our host did not honor the booking and left us stranded.
We got screwed

The room had no windows. Pretty sure that’s a fire hazard. This was not in the pictures of the room or its description. The owner would not let us move to a different room or give us a refund. Avoid this terrible place if you can.

No breakfast provided. Not even coffee.

Charming and stylish small Loreto hotel. Good internet. Excellent Location 2 blocks from the Promenade and Sea of Cortez port. Charming decor, beautiful colors and decorations, and a special large garden with shade, plants, birds, and abundant room for tables and chairs for guests, with 24 hour access to kitchen, stove and refrigerator to prepare your own food in. Local markets, restaurants, historic district, Sea of Cortez tours, and a supermarket nearby Our room had high ceilings, beautiful vibrant dark blue walls and design elements, chair by large swindows that opened into the garden, very comfortable mattress and pillows, comfy blanket, shelving and bureaus to store our things, and large closet with plenty of shelving. Separate bathroom with hot hot water, venting, and high window for air. Security was good with bolted gate, easy access with our keys. There was room in the entryway for 2 guest cars, and we easily parked directly in front on the street. Local workman parked during the day, so busy enough to be safe, but more than enough parking.
Verizon wireless only had 1 bar, however their good internet throughout the hotel, made wifi calling good.

Courtyard
The bed was the worst ... Absolute worst soft old terrible bed I have ever seen or laid on ..

Casa la Castañeda is close to the beach, the marina and the historical centre of Loreto, yet the interior courtyard and kitchen with birds chirping and shaded areas makes this a perfect place to relax after a busy day of exploring!
Loved everything!

Very nice, shady yard in the back with lots of seating space, calm and quiet. Reasonably calm street, safe to park and a straight walk into town or to the beach. The kitchen was spacious if a tad sparse. Very pet friendly. Limited staff interaction was friendly.
Rooms are small (but we switched halfway and it was improved). Staff is pretty hands off outside of check in.

Very friendly hosts and beautiful courtyard garden area for relaxing. location was an easy walk to the plaza and malecon. We felt welcome by the hosts and had all we need to cook breakfast each morning and relax in the wonderful courtyard being sung to by birds. thank you for a wonderful stay.

Good location for the Malecón and calm neighbourhood.
As other people have commented, our room was full of black mould and damp, which is not safe. Big chunks of paint had flaked off the wall in the bathroom.
They didn't reply to the email or WhatsApp messages we sent before we arrived saying we would be arriving a day late.
The shared kitchen was not clean (dirty microwave, mouldy dishcloth and dirty tablecloths).

the common space is very nice, lots of plants and places to sit. a nice kitchen to prepare food
bathroom was small and hard to maneuver in but overall ok

Comfortable & spacious room, beautiful garden with lots of seating & nice community kitchen to use.
Low volume, but slightly annoying high pitched sound coming from bathroom many of the evening & early morning hours. Never did figure out what caused it but I’m guessing it was when ppl in other nearby rooms were showering.. ear plugs helped me sleep through it.

great place with great family run hotel. great patio and close to everything👍👍👍❤️
