Beautiful property in a stunning location. Exceptionally clean and well-equipped. Helpful host and near to some amazing shops and pubs.

Nothing. It was perfect

The location was perfect for us. The cottage was very clean, with milk in the fridge for a much needed cup of tea. The view from the lounge was like a picture postcard. It was very cosy and we enjoyed playing the card games provided in the evenings.

Lovely view over mill pond with ducklings, heron and swifts hunting for insects and occasionally drinking from the pond. Easy access to public transport. Very good local pub - The Boat Inn - very friendly.

Noise from the numerous lorries presumably going to and from local quarries as well as other heavy vehicles.

The cottage was lovely and there were thoughtful touches like chocolates and fresh flowers.

Situated southwest of the Peak District National Park, this cottage was well located as a base to visit any of the attractions the park has to offer. A short 5-10 minute drive is all it takes to reach the National Park boundaries. The village of Cromford itself has plenty to offer given the history associated with Richard Arkwright (responsible for most of the village itself including Cromford Mills). You can easily spend a day itself within Cromford and still not see everything of note. The cottage is extremely clean and well presented. Prior to arrival, I would suggest contacting the owners of the cottage to arrange collection of the key as mobile phone coverage within Cromford can best be described as sketchy! The whole cottage is immaculately clean, well presented and of excellent standard. The kitchen has a gas cooker, large fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave and washing machine. There is plenty of cutlery & tableware all of which is immaculately clean and in good order. There are more than enough pots, pans, oven dishes and trays to cook and prepare meals within the cottage. Suffice to say, the owners have tried to think of everything to make your stay as enjoyable as possible to which they succeed on all levels. I've stayed in so-called luxury apartments or hotel rooms that are made to look like budget accommodation by this cottage. There's a grocery store on the other side of the road that can provide all the essentials you'll need. For a larger shop, all the major supermarkets are no more than a 20 minute trip away. The Greyhound Hotel , Restaurant & Bar is quite literally next door and was recently voted Best Bar and Pub in Derbyshire, County Winner' organised by The National Pub and Bar Awards 2019. You will not be disappointed!! I cannot recommend this cottage or the village of Cromford highly enough to do it justice.

My stay needed to be much much longer. Hardly a fault of the cottage I know. Couldn't find a single fault with the cottage but had to put something!
